Chapter Text

The king sat in his grand office, his mind deep in thought as he mulled over the shocking information just delivered to him by one of his prime ministers. His forehead furrowed in concern, he wondered how he could have been so wrong about the state of the royal bloodline. He had believed that there were enough royals to go around for several generations, if not centuries. But it seemed he was mistaken.

As he absorbed the news that no non-related royals remained alive and that a notorious group of rebels called Etsaia were responsible for their demise, he couldn't help but feel a sense of urgency to find a solution to this problem. The kingdom of Aziz could not afford to be left without a clear heir to the throne.

"Your majesty, what are we going to do now?" The prime minister, Eric, asked, shifting nervously from foot to foot.

The king sighed deeply and leaned against his desk for support. He reached for a worn-out notebook and flipped through its pages until he found what he was looking for. With his withered hand, he traced his finger across the page until he found the relevant segment.

"Eric, have you ever heard of half-bloods?" the king asked, his eyes fixed on the page.

Eric shook his head, curious as to where the king was going with this.

The king motioned for him to come closer. "Read this for me."

Eric glanced down at the notebook and began to read.

"Centuries ago, when the nation of kingdoms was first created, people with rare abilities to control the different elements of the universe became the new nation's leaders. With their powers, they kept everything in check. However, many strict rules were forced upon them. The main rule was that they weren't allowed to have kids with a normal, powerless commoner to keep the bloodline pure. But a handful of royals had unfortunately fallen for commoners. When the other royals learned about their affairs with the powerless commoners, they forbid them from ever leaving the palace."

He took a deep breath before continuing.

"That did not stop the group of royals, who were too in love to give up on what their hearts were calling out for. One night when the palace was occupied with a ball, the group took it as an opportunity to go to their lovers. Once they successfully made it out, they started a new life and had their children. These children soon moved into the villages of the kingdoms and passed on their traits of abilities through generations. Their whereabouts are currently unknown to us at this date." Eric concluded the reading.

He turned to glance at the king, his eyebrow raised in confusion. Eric set the journal down on the desk. "So what does this have to do with the problem?"

"Don't you get it? There are half-bloods in these kingdoms hiding in plain sight. The rules never said anything about getting with those disgraces as long as they're not entirely powerless.” Excitedly, he explained his plan to Eric. He had a device that could track down half-bloods, and he intended to use them to marry into the following line of heirs. With Eric's agreement, the king summoned a trusted servant to send a message to the general to gather a group of loyal soldiers and meet in the meeting room.

The king called his sons to the throne room for an important announcement. This was the beginning of a new chapter for the kingdom of Aziz, one that would require time.

The king gazed out from his balcony, surveying the beautiful kingdom that was his to rule. He knew that the task ahead of him would not be easy, but he was confident that with the focus on the task at hand, they would succeed.

As he picked up his phone to call the scientist and obtain the required number of trackers, the king felt a sense of purpose and determination coursing through him. He knew that the success of his plan rested on the smallest of details and that he would leave no stone unturned in ensuring its execution.

"No more hiding for you, half-bloods," he said with a determined smile, ready to embark on this new journey.
