Work Text:

"Congrats, I have entrusted the both of you to yet again another fun task!" Gojo, your teacher, said. Springing from behind the couch, you and Megumi cuddled on.

"Define  fun , Gojo-sensei," you deadpanned with a dull look painted on your face.

"The last time you gave us a  fun task , we almost  died ," you continued.

"She said  almost , right Fushiguro?" their masked teacher commented.

Megumi grimaced at the flashback of the last time you both were assigned to a level 1 curse. The both of you would have been dead indeed if it weren't for Nanami, who came just on time before you were ripped into half.

Enough of that.

"I really do hope this task is actually meant for us. And not an errand you're too lazy to attend to," Megumi finally spoke.

You slightly flicked your head to your side before clicking your tongue and reaching for the small piece of paper your teacher held. Megumi, who was equally curious as you, leaned in and waited for you to open the note. You smoothly unfolded the letter and furrowed your brows in confusion.

Fetch us dinner from Wendy's. Thank you <3

Yuuji, Nobara, Gojo-sensei, Panda, Inumaki, and Maki

"Well, at least this isn't a task with an option of dying," you lightheartedly joked.

Megumi nodded with half-lidded eyes. Letting out a small yawn before slowly leaving your warmth. Your rather slender arms slowly glided down his bulky arm as he stood up from the couch. You moved your head to the back in discomfort. Already missing Megumi's comforting touch. An arm extended in front of you, looking up seeing it was Megumi, you smiled and gladly grabbed it.

Megumi lightly pulled you up. Intentionally opening your arms wide to correctly land on his chest. He felt your mouth quirk up into a small smile. While you just listened to his calm beating heart.

And as if it wasn't a great moment for the two lovestruck teens, Gojo sarcastically coughed before pointing his belly. You tore away from Megumi's arms and squinted your eyes at the childish man in front of you. The sound of hunger and grumbling filled the room as Gojo let out yet again another loud laugh. You visibly shrugged in disgust before making your way to the exit of the room.

"I assume you all want the usual?" Megumi asked while gaping at the small note Gojo gave the both of you.

The white-haired teacher smiled and nodded. He slung his right arm over Megumi's shoulder with a smug smirk. Gojo whispered near Megumi's ear: "Make sure to go get her. Wouldn't wanna make our efforts go to waste, noh?" Before pointing at the 5 who was listening from the other side of the wall.

Yuuji quickly made his way to the stoic first year and also placed an arm around his shoulder. He gave Megumi the brightest smile he could muster before giving him some words of encouragement: "It doesn't matter if she rejects you! We can rewatch the videos we took at the beach to make you happier!"

"I think you need to remove the thought of y/n rejecting him out of his head," Panda commented.

"Salmon," toge agreed while nodding his head.

"You'd be fine, you're you after all," Maki joined.

"Thank you, Maki-san, for being the only nice and encouraging person in this room," Nobara stated. While the others let out a soft chuckle.

Megumi's face distorted in both embarrassment and annoyance. Because they totally did not set this up. And they totally did not plan this for months before this moment. They totally weren't frustrated when you and Megumi kept acting like a couple even without making things official.  Totally.

"Megumi! Are you coming or not?" You screamed from outside the living room.

"Coming!" He also loudly replied. He caught a glimpse of you nodding before turning his attention back to the five sorcerers in front of him. They all looked at him in anticipation, thinking that he'll at least thank them for their efforts. But the oh so ever  prideful  Megumi Fushiguro wouldn't do that. Or at least wouldn't do in front of them.

A few meters away from the door, Megumi stopped before turning his head to an angle to see them. " Thank you  for the help." He mumbled before briskly going out the door.

"He's so cute when he's honest," Gojo noted.

"Salmon."

Meanwhile, you were going through your mobile phone. Scrolling and looking through your notes app remembered that you wrote down their usual order from Wendy's before. After a few minutes of waiting, Megumi finally finished talking to the group (finished getting teased).

"We should choose a shorter route. I heard that it's gonna  rain  tonight," you stated, not once looking up from your phone.

"Bring an umbrella," you finished before starting to walk out of the dorms. Megumi did as he was told and took the nearest umbrella he could find before catching up to you.

Once you got out of the school's colossal building. And after a few minutes of comforting silence. You unexpectedly latched unto Megumi's left arm. You snuggled and found yourself comfortable after smelling the scent of his perfume that you have grown to love. Megumi's eyes widened, finding it quite bizarre how you could pull a stunt like that and be so nonchalant about it, in public might he add. But nonetheless, he gave in and relaxed on your touch.

"You're quite  clingy  today," Megumi finally spoke.

"Last time that we were walking, a curse almost  killed  me," you reminded him. Megumi shrugged you off and then sighed. You gaped at the first year beside you, curious as to why he let go.

Sparks of adrenaline seemed to flow through the tips of your fingers. Heat raised to your already rosy cheeks and ears. You looked forward, avoiding as much eye contact as possible. Megumi's long fingers found themselves entangled with yours. Its movement was so smooth and soft that it makes you wonder how much hand lotion the raven-haired boy used.

And as you continued your walk, you felt Megumi's thumb rub the back of your hand. Which, without fail, changed the pace of your beating heart. His small gesture quickly chasing away the anxiety you felt in facing yet again another curse.  If only he was yours.

"We're here, I'll order?" Megumi questioned while looking at your e/c eyes.

"Sure," you replied before handing him their list of orders.

"Gojo-sensei didn't give us any money," you sweatdropped.

"It's okay. Dinner's on me," Megumi replied while bringing out his Father's credit card (but of course, you wouldn't know that).

You smiled and nodded before grabbing the umbrella from him. Then he walked away and went inside the 24/7 restaurant. You sighed before looking around you. The parking lot was half empty, and the darkness seeping from the night sky only made it even eerier. You looked up at the night sky and wondered why it was empty. The only visible element was the full moon that shone brightly that you mortals were lucky enough to see. But even that didn't fill the emptiness of the sky.

You then remembered hearing about rain tonight. Realizing that the rainclouds covered your favorite part of the night sky. You ran a hand through your h/c hair, feeling a little bored alone without your mobile phone. A strong gush of wind then filled the air, your immediate reaction being to hug your arms and replace the chill with your own warmth.

Raindrops started to fall from the sky. Tiny diamonds of water painted your face as you tried to open the umbrella Megumi had brought. Soon realizing that it was indeed broken and beyond use. You hastily ran through the covered area, near the doors of Wendy's. Splashing and almost slipping on a few puddles.

"Why didn't you use the umbrella?" Megumi asked as he just went out of Wendy's. His hands occupied with the many meals for the people back in the dorms.

"Well,  genius , you brought a broken umbrella," you irritatedly replied.

Megumi stayed silent. Awkwardly thinking about what to do to redeem himself. Gosh, he was supposed to ask you out tonight. And all  he  did is trap the both of you under Wendy's entrance. You sighed and ran your slender fingers through your h/c hair before reaching out to the uncovered area to feel the raindrops in your fingertips. Megumi looked up the gloomy sky, feeling angsty that their plan probably backfired cause of the storm.

Hearing your footsteps nearing the wall behind you, Megumi turned back. He stared at your figure as you slowly sat while leaning on the wall. You put your thighs against your body as your head sunk to your knees. Gradually rubbing your arms, the gears on Megumi's head finally turned and thought that you were cold. He went to your seated figure while removing his uniform's jacket. Slickly placing the thick clothing around you.

"You'll catch a cold," Megumi coughed while covering his blush.

You nodded before burying your flushed face back to your knees. You continued to stare at the rain, your [eye color] eyes looking like a glass reflecting such fear. Megumi took note of your indirect action and took it upon himself to stand right in front of you.

"What's wrong?" Megumi started.

"I'm afraid that the rain will turn into a thunderstorm," you muttered.

Megumi's eyes widened and turned to face the increasing rain. His figure went back to meeting you and softened his gaze. Megumi's slender arm reached out unto your slightly shaking body and smiled.

"Want me to show you something  amazing ?" He started with the smallest of smiles tugging on his lips.

You huffed and grabbed his hands. Slowly getting up and brushed your uniform.

"Sure," you replied, still holding unto his big hands.

"Here we go."

Your eyes turned wide as you felt Megumi pulling you all the way outside the covered area. Megumi slightly smiled and let out a small chuckle as he gaped at your soaked and surprised state.

"A while ago, you told me to cover up cause I'll catch a cold, and then you bring me out to the rain?" you shrieked while he just continued chuckling.

"Come on now,  darling ," Megumi said as he wrapped his arms around your waist.

His lips dangerously nearing your ear and whispered: "Enjoy the view."

You pulled away from the first year, flustered. Covering half of your face with your trembling hands as an attempt to hide your blush. You flinched, feeling the beat of your heart falling in sync with Megumi's laughs. Continuing to stare at the first year you adore, the gears in your head turned. Finally, realizing Megumi was the reason for all the  butterflies and knots  that filled your stomach.

Megumi grabbed your hand before placing his left hand on your cheeks. He moved your face to get a view of the pouring sky. You closed your eyes because of the few raindrops that hit your eyes. But when you realized what Megumi wanted you to see, your [eye color] shined. The once foggy sky cleared out and showed the immense array of bright and pretty stars. You gasped, letting out all the admiration you held for the lunar elements in the sky. The clouds slowly lightened, and the moon was visible for the both of you to see.

" The moon is beautiful tonight, isn't it? " Megumi said.

You smiled with flushed cheeks and replied: " Only because I'm with you ."

Megumi was the first to look away from the sky. Gawking at your calm and awestruck face. Thinking if you said that out of the moment, or was it a sincere reply to his indirect confession. His eyes slowly parted to ask about your answer, only to be cut off by you.

"The world feels lonely when it's only me and the stars," you started.

"Then, do you want to be lonely with me and admire the stars?" Megumi hesitantly replied.

"I would  love  that," you answered, finally looking at Megumi's dark, mesmerizing eyes.

He smiled before taking your arms and wrapped them around his neck. Megumi pulled you closer and hugged unto your waist as if you were gonna leave. Imaginary music filled your ears as you and Megumi danced in sync. Swaying and stepping on small puddles. Everything seemed like it's from a movie.

Now Megumi will have trouble sleeping during rainstorms, not because he was afraid but because he'll remember how your heart shared the same love as he danced with you.

As for you, insomnia pierced your guilt-filled body. Not because you were tired but because you don't know what to do now that you've fallen in love with an  enemy
