Mahiru and Futaba started dating a few weeks ago, ever since Kaoruko is been feeling very lonely, even a bit jealous of the two of them, she did not see Futaba in the same way Mahiru did at all, to her she was nothing more than her precious best friend and she was happy for her not that she could ever admit to it, with the passing of the weeks her feelings of loneliness kept on growing steadily after all Futaba was spending more and more time with her girlfriend each passing day, and so one day Kaoruko convinced herself that she would try to make Futaba jealous by getting all close and touchy with someone herself.
She did not wish to hinder Futuba’s relationship with Mahiru at all, she only wanted to make Futaba feel jealous in hopes that she would understand how she was feeling and would pay more attention to her, and in the back of Kaoruko’s mind existed the faint hope that her terrible plan may end in her being able to find someone she could love like that herself.
Looking at the remaining of her single friends she started to think about how they would react to being used as a prob for her petty attempt to gain some attention from her best friend.
Kaoruko- “Maya and Claudine are out of the question those two would beat me up for sure, Karen is like a puppy I’m sure I could get away with anything I wanted with her but I get the feeling Maya has a thing for her so that could end up in disaster for me… that means the only real options are the class rep and Nana, Junna would probably get startled the most but nothing I can’t handle and Nana is so kind she probably would play along but she is like that with everyone so it won’t be as effective in making Futaba jealous, so Junna it is!”
And so Kaoruko waited for the chance to put her plan into motion she could have avoided all of this if only she was sincere to herself and told Futaba how she was feeling but Kaoruko lacked the courage to say things directly, lucky for her the opportunity she was awaiting for presented itself soon. as she went into the kitchen for some snacks she saw it, the perfect set up, Mahiru and Futaba hand in hand sitting in the living room talking to a solitary Junna ready to be used as Kaoruko’s prop for her one woman performance.
She approached the unsuspecting Junna and hugged her leaning most of her body onto her and kissing her in the cheek, before deviously looking to Futaba and Mahiru who were looking at them in total shock, Junna was frozen in place by was frozen in place trying to make heads of what just happened.
Futaba- Kaoruko!? What are you…?
Kaoruko- Oh, what am I doing? Is it not obvious? You ignored me all this time so now I will have Junna over here give me all the attention I deserve.
Kaoruko puts her and on Junna’s leg and leans her head onto her shoulders, Junna is still frozen in place.
Kaoruko- You will be there for me right Junna? You will hear me out, tell me about your troubles, give me massages, be my new best friend…
Futaba- Wait are you doing this because you are jealous of Mahiru?
Kaoruko- I am not!
Futaba- You totally are… anyway this is really bad, you need to let go of Junna now!
Kaoruko- Oh, jealous already? Well now you know how it feels to be left out of your best friends’ life!
Futaba- What? No, I mean…
Junna snaps out of it and starts to push Kaoruko away.
Junna- Hey! What do you think you are doing? Get away from me! My girlfriend won’t like this.
Kaoruko- Girlfriend…?
Mahiru- Eek! Kaoruko behind you.
Kaoruko sees a shadow of a long-haired girl standing behind her with her arms around her waist, she slowly turns her head around while still holding on to Junna to see an extremely pissed off Claudine standing tall behind them.
Claudine- What the hell do you think you are doing? Let go of my Girlfriend!
In an instant Kaoruko lets go of Junna and puts her hands up as she totally turns around terrified of the possible consequences of her petty actions.
Kaoruko- I… mmm… I swear this is not what it looks like…
Claudine- Then what is it, you got one chance to explain yourself, don’t waste it.
In the corner of her eye Kaoruko sees Nana coming out of the hallway and without thinking she runs to her and hides behind her back.
Kaoruko- Please don’t kill me, I swear I was just…
Claudine approaches them.
Claudine- Just what!?
Kaoruko- Eek! Please save me Nana, I’m too beautiful and young to die now.
Futaba- Wait Clau, she really didn’t mean anything by that, she was just being a petty Idiot.
Claudine sights and seem to calm down a bit as Junna rushes to her and grabs a hold of her hand, the terrified and now also quite humiliated Kaoruko squeezes Nana’s hips from behind her back as she looks down, Nana looks back at her, she looks like she wants to say something but can't quite get herself to do so.
Nana- I don’t know what’s going on here but I think Kaoruko has something she wants to say, so how about we all take a seat and hear her out.
Nana turns to Kaoruko and whispers to her:
Nana- Whatever it is, you can do it, don't worry I promise I will be by your side, let’s go.
Kaoruko feels comforted by Nana’s kind words and soft tone and she whispers back “Thank you” Nana gives her the most gentle of smiles totally melting away the fears in Kaoruko’s heart, she then grabs her by the hand and walks to the living room, Kaoruko looks at her friends and starts breathing heavily, she wants to open up and be sincere but is not easy, she is not sure she can do it, she looks back a Nana who with a smile gives her a little head nod and grabs a hold of her hand once more giving her the courage to open up.
Kaoruko starts by giving Junna a sincere heartfelt apology, she apologizes to Claudine too, she then turns to Futaba and explains to her why she did what she did, and in the process for the first time in a long time is having sincere conversation with Futaba about her feelings and insecurities, after all was said and done the two best friends made up and Claudine apologized for screaming at her, the issue was quickly resolved and everyone made their way out of the living room except for Kaoruko and Nana who were still sitting together, Nana holding on to Kaoruko’s hand.
Nana- Feeling better?
Kaoruko still cleaning a few tears off her face responds:
Kaoruko- Yeah, sorry I must have looked very pathetic just now.
Nana- I think you were very brave!
Kaoruko- Really? Even though I was so petty and selfish that I tried to make my best friend jealous because I was afraid of speaking my true feelings.
Nana- In the end you did realize what you did wrong and speak up your mind and that takes a lot of courage to do! And besides I think there is nothing wrong with being a little selfish from time to time, is part of your appeal.
Nana smiles at Kaoruko, who relaxes a bit and smiles back seeming to return to her usual self before saying:
Kaoruko- Thank you, you are right I am quite appealing!
Nana holds tighter to her hand.
Nana- I would say so yes.
Nana gets closer to her face, and Kaoruko starts to get very nervous and red all over.
Kaoruko- Ah!?
Nana looks straight into her eyes with her face inches away from hers.
Nana- You know you are so cute I could just eat you up.
Kaoruko- Nana?!
Nana gets even closer and kisses her in the cheek, Kaoruko’s hart goes into overdrive as she blushes even more.
Nana- You truly are the cutest (giggles) I will be going now before I lose control and kiss you for real.
Nana gets up and let’s go of her hand, as she tries to walk away, she is stopped by the feeling of Kaoruko’s hand pulling on her uniform, she turns around to see her blushing as she looks down.
Kaoruko- I would not mind kissing for real…
Nana- Oh? Well if you insist.
Kaoruko- Not now! Let's date first.
Nana- You got it!
Kaoruko lets go of her and smiles, Nana says her goodbyes and promises to that she will take her out this weekend as she makes her way out back to her room, Kaoruko can't help but to think to herself how lucky she was that Nana was there, without her things would have gone the same as always, she was also extremely anxious in a good way thinking she and Nana could find love in one another and that she maybe could rid herself of the loneliness in her heart.
As Nana walked away, she kept up her usual smile and thought to herself:
Nana- “That was easy, it all went according to plan, this is bound to be an interesting one for a change.”
By this point in time Nana had lived this year of her life more than 30 times over, the other had no clue but they were in a loop of Nana’s creation, over the past 30 or so years Nana had grown extremely lonely and so this one cycle she decided to try something different and she made a move on girl she had been obsessing over the past 30 years, this girl was Kaoruko.
She had liked Kaoruko from the start, even though her personality could be a bit harsh to say the least Nana knew the lonely and sincere girl hiding behind the princess act and from all her repeat performances she had developed some sort of attachment to her, and so she decided to make her move, she figured worst it could happen was she failed and she could always try again and again with each passing loop.
Nana- “Knowing the future sure has its advantages! I… I wonder if we will be able to grow to love each other? The unknown sure is scary…”
And so the weekend came and the two of then went out on a date, the two of them hit it off out the bad, the date was a huge success overall and Kaoruko was totally smitten by Nana, she still had a very hard time being sincere but this, this she would not hide.
Kaoruko- Hey, today has been great, I… I like… us…
She holds Nana’s hand and kisses her on the cheek.
Kaoruko- I hope that’s enough to get my point across…
Nana- Loud and clear, I like you too.
Nana was surprised by Kaoruko’s move however she was not ready for what was about to happen, no amount of repeat performances or revues could have prepared her for that.
Kaoruko- I’m glad we are on the same page, I… Nana! I want to be your girlfriend!
She could not believe it, the Kaoruko she knew could have never taken that step herself, Nana had just gotten declared to in an unorthodox way, she was happy in a way she had not been for many years.
Nana- Wait, are you asking me to be your gi…girl…girlfriend?
Kaoruko- Oh my, blushing already? And you were talking such a big game about kissing me and what not the other day.
Kaoruko lets out a somewhat evil sounding laugh as she teases the rapidly blushing Nana.
Kaoruko- Anyway, don’t get me wrong, what I am saying is to make me yours already you silly walking Banana girl.
Kaoruko herself blushes as she looks into Nana's eyes anxiously waiting for her to say the words she wants to her so much.
Nana- I get it now, Kaoruko would you be my girlfriend?
Kaoruko- Hmph, I guess I don’t mind, go ahead kiss me now.
Nana smiles as she holds tight to Kaoruko’s hand, and without a word she leans down to kiss her girlfriend, afterwards she leans back up a bit and puts her and on Kaoruko’s face to what she responds by putting her own hand on top of it as she looks deeply into Nana eyes.
Nana- How was it?
Kaoruko- I guess it was ok… No scratch that, it was perfect.
Kaoruko gets up on her tip toes and kisses Nana.
Kaoruko- Yeah, perfect.
Nana is once away surprised by Kaoruko’s actions to the point of being left speechless, maybe she had grown so used to her repeated performances that anything new was just this shocking or maybe it was this new feelings growing in her heart whatever the case, for a moment there time stood still for Nana and all that existed in her world was Kaoruko and her warm inviting smile.
Nana- You are full of surprises, maybe the future is not that scary…
Kaoruko- What do you mean?
Nana- Oh nothing, just thinking out loud, anyway, I agree that was just perfect.
Kaoruko- Oh well, I’m glad we agree on that. Let's get going, it is getting cold and my feet are starting to hurt, I would need a massage or two when we get home.
Nana- You got it!
And so their first date had come to an end and the two of them became girlfriends far faster than Nana could have ever imagine, in fact most of the date did not go as she had envisioned not in a bad way by any means but for Nana this was something new, she was so used to be in total control of what would happen that this was almost like seeing the light for the first time in years, she was very excited of what her future with Kaoruko would bring and yet at the same time a part of her was terrified of it, there where now just 2 months left before the auditions would start once more.
The two of them grew closer fast, a month went by and by them they were practically inseparable, Kaoruko was almost like a different person compared to where she was a month ago, not only was she not feeling lonely anymore she thanks to her relationship with Nana had also grown to be more sincere with her own emotions and as a result her relationships with her friends and herself had improved significantly, she was not the only one growing Nana could also feel herself changing as she began to fall deeper in love with Kaoruko, in truth she had been looking at her, fantasizing about her, yearning for her company for such long time and now that it was happening it was all far better than she had ever imagined it to be, however she was very conscious of the limited time they had to be together, she did not wanted it to end, she wanted to time to move slower she wanted to go further with her girlfriend.
Today Nana and Kaoruko are in bed watching a movie on Kaoruko’s tablet, the movie is about over when Nana starts making her move.
Kaoruko- That was a very funny movie, I liked the part where baby Claudine made funny faces for her cat, how about you honey, did you like it?
Nana says nothing as she arms herself with bravery to make her move, Kaoruko turns towards her and sees her uncharacteristically serious face and says:
Kaoruko- Honey? Are you ok…?
Without a warning Nana goes for it. She kisses Kaoruko as passionately as she can while she positions herself on top of her, she then starts kissing the neck of an astonished Kaoruko.
Kaoruko- Hey, that tickles (laughs) stop that.
Kaoruko’s neck is very sensible to tickling so she is having a lot of trouble stopping her laughter, Nana’s hand is slowly moving up from Kaoruko’s hip and on to her chest, Nana lift her head from her girlfriend’s neck and attempt to go in for another kiss however Kaoruko catches her and holds her face with both her hands.
Kaoruko- Hey there big girl, what’s gotten into you tonight?
Nana- I… mmm… I was just… I don’t know… Do you not like it?
Kaoruko- I’m not saying I don’t like it, but just take a little slower ok? Is not a race we have all the time in the world to do “that”.
Nana- “That”!?
Nana is blushing a lot.
Kaoruko- Oh my, was that not what you wanted? If you blush like that you will make me blush too you know.
Nana- Ah! Sorry I… did want to do “that”.
Kaoruko- Hahaha, don’t apologize I’m only teasing you; you just look so cute when you get flustered that I can’t help myself.
Kaoruko leans in and kisses her while still holding on to her face.
Kaoruko- Anyway, I know I’m totally irresistible, but I’m not quite there yet, just give me some more time, ok?
Nana- Yeah, take as long as you need, let’s just cuddle!
Nana calms down and gets off from on top of Kaoruko and hugs her tight from behind, she can feel Kaoruko’s heart beating at an alarming rate, It seems like even if she was keeping her composure she was in fact very flustered by Nana's move.
Is now the las week before the giraffe revues start, Nana is a little worried, for the most part things have gone like they always do with some minor differences mainly in the relationships of everyone with Kaoruko she doesn’t think this will affect things much after all her biggest obstacle is Maya and she is barley been affected at all however Nana can’t help but to feel like something is off this time but she can’t quite put her finger on it, during lunch Nana keeps thinking about this, she seem a bit distant today and Kaoruko takes note of it.
Kaoruko- Earth to Nana, are you there?
Nana- Ah! Sorry I was spacing out again.
Kaoruko- I get when that happens while you look at my infinite beauty, but this is so not like you, like for reals this week is like you are somewhere else, what’s on your mind?
Nana- I’m thinking about the future, I think I may be thinking too hard about it, but it is scary, not knowing what will happen.
Kaoruko- I see, I think it is more fun not knowing what will happen, I also have my fears and doubts about it but I know what I want in my future and I plan to do my best to achieve it, no matter what comes my way.
Nana- I see, truth be told I am aimless, Not knowing what the future holds terrifies me, I’m afraid I won’t be able to handle it by myself.
Kaoruko- You are so silly, you are no longer alone, the future is scary but together we have nothing to fear, we can achieve anything, I promise I will be there by your side whatever the future holds, and whatever future you wish to bring about I’ll help you get there.
Kaoruko’s smile is like a ray of light so bright Nana can barely look at it, her words and that precious smile that she loves so much finally made Nana understand, what is off for this cycle is her, she is the one who has changed she loves Kaoruko and for the first time in over 30 years Nana’s resolve to do her repeat performance has begun to waver.
Nana- I… but what if the future I wanted will hurt you?
Kaoruko- I will still stand by your side because I lo…
Nana- No! Don’t say those words, I… I don’t deserve them; I am a bad Banana… I…
Kaoruko- That’s not true, you are not bad, and even if you where it doesn’t change anything, I love you Nana.
Nana- Kaoruko, I… I love you too.
Kaoruko- You had me all worried that I would not hear those words back, what a relief!
Nana- Sorry I was being weird; I’ll make up to you in kisses.
Kaoruko- You better do! And for real, whatever is on your head please talk to me about it ok? We love each other and no matter what’s going on we can go through it together, no secrets ok?
Nana- Yes, I promise “I’m sorry I can’t tell you this it will only hurt you; this is my burden and mine alone, besides you would hate me if you knew…”
Nana- Oh yeah, you said you knew what you wanted to do in the future, what is it?
Kaoruko- It’s a secret!
Nana- Hey! You said no secrets!
Kaoruko- Hahaha, got me there, I want to start a family with you!
Nana- What!? I… Kaoruko… “I want to be with you too, but I can’t if I don’t do this what will happen to everyone else?”
Both of them are blushing, Kaoruko does her best to try and quickly change the subject to something less embarrassing.
Kaoruko- By the way do you know what you want to do after graduation?
Nana- Graduation… No, I have no clue, you?
Kaoruko- I want us to move in together!
Nana- “You truly are too bright”
The week came to a close and soon the auditions began once more, and indeed something was different this time, Kaoruko did not got called Nana suspected it may have been because her ambition was no longer to be top star, in any case it did not matter the fact was that was this made it easier for her as she feared having to face her and not having the resolve to fight her.
The participants may not have been the same but it did not matter at all, Nana was able to take them out just like last time no problem whatsoever, everything was going her way or so it seemed However Kaoruko had noticed that something was wrong Nana kept on disappearing and was behaving oddly, she knew something was up and that Nana was not the only one involved, she decided to ask Nana what was going on.
Nana- Kaoruko? What are you doing here so late?
Kaoruko- I’m the one who should be asking you that, Nana what’s going on?
Nana- What do you mean?
Kaoruko- Don’t play dumb, you keep disappearing at random times and coming and going from school late, something is up… please tell me what’s going on.
Nana- I… I can’t tell you…
Kaoruko- What do you mean you can’t tell me, are you Cheating on me?
Nana- No! it’s not that I would never, it’s just… you would not understand.
Kaoruko- Of course I can’t understand if you don’t tell me!
Nana- I… please I… I can’t.
Kaoruko- You can, please talk to me so I can understand you.
In that moment both their phones ring at the same time, Nana is shocked to see that, Kaoruko has been invited to the audition, the two of them will have to face each other right now, they both walk into the underground theater all the meanwhile Nana can’t get herself to say a word to Kaoruko, after a few minutes the two are face to face on the stage in their revue outfits a taking giraffe declaring that the revue is to start.
Kaoruko- Revue? What do you mean, what is this outfit and this… weapon, we are not going to fight! Tell him… Nana?
Kaoruko looks at Nana in shock as she is pointing her sword at her.
Nana- I’m sorry.
Kaoruko- No, you are not, liar…
Kaoruko throws her weapon to the ground and rips her own button off, the curtains fall.
Kaoruko storms out of school, Nana running after her screaming to deaf ears to please stop, she finally manages to catch up with her just outside the school entrance, she grabs a hold of her hand to stop her, Kaoruko turns around and as she does she slaps Nana with all of her might before breaking in tears.
Nana- Kaoruko, are you ok?
Kaoruko- No, I’m not! let go of me, you… you liar, you broke our promise...
Nana- I won’t, I’ll never let go! I… I…
Kaoruko- You what Nana! Are you going to tell me what’s going on or let go of me, make your decision!
Nana- I won’t let go.
Kaoruko- Then speak to me! No more secrets, speak so I can understand you, so I can be by your side, or am I the only one who meant it when we said I love you to one another?
Nana- I… I can’t, you will hate me if I do…
Kaoruko- I won’t hate you, I will never hate you, no matter how bad you think things are, but if you don’t tell me… you will lose me.
Nana- Then… I’ll tell you everything.
Nana holds Kaoruko’s hand and walks her to a nearby bench where she finally comes clean and tell her everything, all about her past 30 years, what’s going to happen the end of these auditions, how she has been feeling as of late, everything, by the end Nana feels a great sense of relief as if a big burden had been taken off her shoulders.
Nana- That’s about it, pretty pathetic and despicable, aren’t I?
Kaoruko- You are none of those things, you are an idiot for not telling me earlier.
Nana- Sorry about that.
Kaoruko- Is ok, I can understand why you would be afraid of it, 30 years, that’s a lot you must have been very lonely.
Nana- I was.
Kaoruko- Did you always like me? During those 30 years I mean.
Nana- Yeah, but this is the first time I ever tried something I promise!
Kaoruko- I believe you, you get flustered so easily to be someone with experience dating, do you plan to do it again, the repeat performance?
Nana- I… I don’t know, but if I did will you be ok with it?
Kaoruko- I don’t know, I need time to think about it.
Nana- Kaoruko…
Kaoruko stands up.
Kaoruko- Promise me two things, no more secrets for real this time and that you will love me for another 60 years.
Nana- I promise! Does that mean I’m forgiven?
Kaoruko faintly smiles.
Kaoruko- As if, I’m still mad, I’ll be going now. I need some time to process all of this.
Kaoruko starts to walk away from Nana as she does so she says:
Kaoruko- I love you.
Nana- I love you too.
The two of them make their way home separately, Nana was so ashamed of herself for having kept things a secret, at the same time she felt so happy that Kaoruko was willing to stand by her side even now, she also felt an incredible amount of pain coming from her face as she laid in bed holding an ice pack to where she just got slapped.
Nana- “I don’t deserve her at all, she is so good to me and in the end all I am going to do is hurt her… is this alright? maybe I… no I can’t, even if it started for my own selfish reasons if I take their brilliance away just to be with her it will be no better, I will protect them! Who am I kidding…? I…can’t protect a thing, maybe I should just give up already.”
At that moment the door to her room opens, and in comes Kaoruko.
Kaoruko- Hi, how is your face feeling?
Nana- Is ok, it doesn’t hurt that bad anymore.
Kaoruko- I’m happy to hear that.
Kaoruko closes the door behind her and puts on the lock, she walks towards Junna’s side of the room and turns the lights off, the only light remaining is the faint one coming from Nana's desk lamp.
Nana- What are you doing?
Kaoruko takes her Shirt off and walks towards Nana.
Kaoruko- I told Junna to sleep in my bed tonight, I made up my mind.
Nana- Kaoruko?
Kaoruko- I want to be with you until the very end, I will support you.
Kaoruko unhooks her bra and jumps into bed with Nana.
Nana- Ah!
Kaoruko- 30 years, you wanted to be with me for so long, I wish you told me sooner, come big girl give it to me all of it all of your 30 years of pent up feelings and desires I want them all.
Nana gets on top of Kaoruko and kisses her before she quickly straightens up to take off her own shirt, she kisses Kaoruko once again, she can feel her heart rate going way high same as Kaoruko.
Nana- Are you sure?
Kaoruko- Yeah, for as little time as we still have, I want to be totally yours, I’m ready for “that”, don’t hold anything back (winks).
The Next morning Nana lays awake in bed looking at her exhausted girlfriend oversleeping late into the morning as she holds tight to her.
Nana- “I love her so much; she has given me the will to keep on going but she is dangerous… I can't be with her another time or I’m sure to lose the will to fight, this will be our first and last time being together… that doesn’t matter right now, the only thing that matters is to enjoy what little we have left to the best of our abilities.”
Kaoruko half opens her eyes, she is so exhausted her eyes seem to lack any semblance of conscious thought behind them, she manages to utter 2 words before collapsing onto Nana once more.
Kaoruko- I… Love…
Nana- I love you too, get some more rest.
Nana gives her a kiss in the forehead and pats her head for a while.
Nana made a deal with Junna so that Kaoruko could move in to the room from that day on, the two girlfriend’s lost no time, now both knowing that their days were numbered they went out to do all kinds of dates in between the auditions, the went to the aquarium, took photos with the frogs, went to an amusement park and even had a romantic picnic in the duck pond at dusk there were so many things they wanted to do and yet so little time left.
Before they knew it the day for the final audition had come, Nana would face off against Maya once again in a few hours, after school that day Nana and Kaoruko decided to stay and sit together on the steps near the entrance as they awaited for the time to come, they did not share a lot words just their company was enough, they were holding hands and Kaoruko was resting her head on Nana’s shoulder, the phone rang, announcing the last revue was about to begin.
Nana- It's time, let’s go.
Kaoruko- Wait, here…
Kaoruko takes a letter from her purse and gives it to Nana.
Kaoruko- Open it after you win, ok?
Nana- Ok.
Kaoruko- lets go.
The two of them walk together hand in hand for the last time and share one last kiss before they go their separate ways, in the underground theater sits Kaoruko as the lonely audience of this last revue, on stage is Maya standing proud as always and Nana ready to give it her all once more, as soon as the revue started it was evident to Kaoruko that Maya stood no chance, this would be over soon, and she would forget all about the woman she loves.
Almost as quickly as it had begun the revue was over and Maya’s cape had hit the ground, Kaoruko knew this meant her love was over too, the giraffe asks Nana what is it the she wants, like every time she looks to the shine coming from the audience however this time she sees Kaoruko waving her goodbye as she does her best to hold back her tears, Nana’s resolve wavers for a second before she answers the same way she always has, the giraffe just replies “I understand”.
Nana is now standing in her room alone; time has gone back once again.
Nana- …
Nana falls to her knees and starts to cry uncontrollably all she can think about is the face of Kaoruko back then, she is once again all alone, Nana feels something fall out from the inside of her uniform jacket.
Nana- The letter she gave me, I had forgotten all about it…
Nana wipes the tears from her face and opens up the envelope, inside is just a postcard the size of the envelope it reads “I’ll love you forever” in Kaoruko’s handwriting, Nana turns it around there is a bit of writing in the reverse too, “don’t give up” and a badly drawn heart, the post card is decorated with various photos of the two of them together.
Nana- I won’t… I love…
Nana's tears start to fall down her face and onto the post card.
On that day she promised to never give up, she would protect her precious friends and their special performance for as long as she could, she would love Kaoruko forever but she would never approach her again, she knew if she did she would not be able to let go a second time.

Nana can't help but to stare at Kaoruko, her mind flooding with the memories of her first love, memories lost forever to everyone but her.
Junna- Hey, we are making dinner, we don’t have time for your games right now.
Kaoruko- Hmph.
Junna- Seriously those two are such a handful, just like Karen… anyway what’s next...? hey Nana what’s wrong, you are crying.
Nana- Oh, I must have been the onions, I’m fine sorry, let’s keep going, next is the beef and we need to cut the potatoes.
