It was Sunday night. Sabito let out a long sigh.
The past weekend was wonderful and he didn't want it to end at all. He just spent the weekend at Giyuu's, his secret boyfriend, the ever-so-perfect Giyuu.
Even though their families knew about their relationship, they decided to keep it from their company and coworkers. So even though they worked in the same company, same floor even, come Monday, they have to pretend that they were just casual acquaintances.
He was not quite sure why they have to keep their a secret, but he respected his boyfriend's wish regardless because the raven haired man was just so perfect and he just want to kiss him all day, every day, and any chance he got. In short, it's because Sabito got it bad for Giyuu and pretty much willing to do almost anything for this guy.
At first Sabito agreed and thought the secret relationship was thrilling, but now he's just sick of it. He's annoyed that he couldn't announce it to the world that Giyuu was his and his only.
He's especially jealous at Rengoku who does not seem to have problem hogging Giyuu.
Hey Giyuu, you seem like you're free, wanna get a quick break to convenient store, hey Giyuu, can you help me and take a look at this document, hey Giyuu this, hey Giyuu that
'Arrgh! This is bullshit!' Sabito dived head first into the bed, buried his head into the pillow, and let out a long exasperated groan. 'I bet that document is just an excuse to get close to Giyuu.'
After pouting and grumbling, Sabito decided to turn his brain off for the night so he can wake up early tomorrow and have a productive at work.
On Monday, as expected, Rengoku Kyojuro was hogging Giyuu. Asking him questions, even holding him up during lunch time.
Looking at them being close together, it's like steam coming out of Sabito's ears.
'That's it I can't take it anymore!'
Sabito pulled out his phone and rapidly texted Giyuu that they needed to talk in the evening after work.
Sabito knew was received because half a second later, he spotted the dark haired man turned his head towards him and stare at him for a while with an unreadable expression, not that it was readable on most days any way.
A reply chimed a few seconds later.
Giyuu: [ Ok ]
He looked at the text and sighed. What was he thinking, now he has to wait 5 or even closer to 6 hours before he can talk to the man. He wanted to pull Giyuu aside and just to talk to him right there and then, but that would be so unprofessional!
What if this leads to them breaking up? Sabito would just break down then and there and wouldn't be able to return to work
His boss would think of him so little and.. and...
Before he went further down the rabbit hole of thoughts, he felt a tap on his shoulder. One of his kohai, Tanjiro pulled him out of his reverie.
"Everything okay senpai? You look stressed"
"Sorry, was just thinking. What's up kiddo?"
"Uh, I just need help with this annual report"
And Sabito went back to work and shoved his thought as far back as he can at the back of his brain.
Came the evening Sabito went to Giyuu's place.
He lived in an apartment alone. As usual, his apartment was neat and everything in Giyuu's apartment had its own place. They decided it would be easier to talk in his place so Makomo doesn't interrupt them.
Makomo loves Giyuu like a brother, or revise that, Makomo loves Giyuu more than she loves her own brother.
That's why whenever Giyuu comes around, Makomo would always chat them up.
Giyuu looked as nervous as he was settling and inviting Sabito into the house. It's not like this was the first time Sabito came in the apartment. But I guess it's the anticipation of that they were going to talk.
They decided to get settled in the living room. Giyuu offered him barley tea, or water, or anything, but Sabito decided to just start talking and letting it out
"Giyuu, I... I can't keep our relationship a secret anymore." Sabito looked at Giyuu straight in the eye.
"I hate that Rengoku gets to talk to you all the time and I can't say that you're mine. You look so cool when you work and I can't help that I just want to kiss you and tell the world that you're mine!"
Giyuu was caught off guard. he slumped to the floor and let out a long sigh of relief.
"Oh my god, I thought you were breaking up with me. I was so nervous..."
Sabito rushed to his side and sit on the floor across Giyuu so he can face him.
"No, no of course not, I love you so much Giyuu Tomioka, never in a million years, or even gazillion years I would ever let you go!"
Sabito then hugged Giyuu, put his hand on his pale cheeks and kissed him on the lips.
"I'm so sorry to make you worry about tonight, I should have been more clearer in the text"
"I'm sorry too, I didn't mean to keep it as a secret relationship, I'm just not comfortable with public display of affection is all."
They then had a conversation and decided that yes, he can tell people that Giyuu is his boyfriend, no, Giyuu still need Rengoku to help with the joint project they are working on so please don't shoo him away, holding hands is okay, and kisses and pecks are okay as long as nobody is around, and yes, he can drop by Giyuu's desk at anytime and chat as long as they keep the conversation casual and professional
This whole time Giyuu was just being nervous as it was his first relationship and he didn't know what to do, especially in the workplace. Relationship does not exactly came with instruction manual.
Sabito let our a huge sigh of relief because the conversation was going 1000% better than anticipated. He walked back to his house with a huge smile and spring on his step.
He couldn't wait for tomorrow!
The following morning, Sabito arrived at work bright and early with a huge smile plastered on his face. But on the way to his desk, he got stopped by Shinobu, Uzui and Mitsuri.
He got dragged into an empty conference room, and thrown into one of the chair. They put a light facing Sabito (where did they even get a desk light anyway?) and proceed to slam the table.
"Okay, confess! What have you done?" Shinobu was the first one to speak up.
"Uh... I think I need more context, sir, ma'am"
"Don't play stupid, dimwit! Tomioka was so distracted yesterday and couldn't get anything done. He like spaced out the entire afternoon and jumped at everyone and everything"
Even though Shinobu always teased Giyuu mercilessly, she cares for Giyuu's wellbeing. Mostly because Shinobu thought Giyuu resembled a lost puppy and someone needed to adopt him.
Oh...
Okay, Sabito felt a little bad of what the text had done to Giyuu.
"Ah, yeah, uh, so we have been keeping our relationship a secret, but I couldn't take it anymore. I told him we needed to talk after work, because I didn't want to cause commotion during work hours."
The room was silent for a second, so Sabito decided to continue.
"So yeah, me and Giyuu was in a secret relationship, he is my boyfriend, but now the cat is out of the bag. And I'm sorry to cause distress and impact Giyuu's work performance, but not to worry though we're all good now." As Sabito apologized, he detected something amiss "Hang on a sec, how did you guys even know it was me? Did Giyuu..?"
But Mitsuri decided to interrupt anyway.
"Huh? It's a secret relationship? I thought it's a public knowledge that you two are dating?"
What?
Sabito cocked his head to the side and make a confused expression. "What?" His brain short-circuited, "What do you mean public knowledge, we've been so careful"
"Pfft! Careful my ass! You stopped by Tomioka's desk at least twice a day and glared at anyone who come even remotely close to him, even just to hand off a document. FLAMBOYANTLY"
Mitsuri then chimed in "And nevermind Tomioka, we could never get him to talk more than 2-3 words on any topic except for work and anything related to you. He only shows interest only if it's about you! Gahh! You guys are soo cute!!!"
With that, heat rose up Sabito's cheek and now as red as tomato.
Giyuu talked about him to their coworkers?
And that's all his brain can process.
"What kind of things he talks about? Does he say how cool I am?" His eyes sparkled with newfound curiosity.
"Oh my god, gross you guys!" Shinobu exclaimed. "Anyway, thank god you loverbirds resolved it. You two dummies are so cute and oblivious, it's too entertaining."
After the whole debacle, Sabito was let out of the conference/interrogation room to resume his day.
As he passed by Giyuu's desk, the desk owner noticed the peach-haired man. Giyuu can't help but smile as he greeted good morning to his not-secret boyfriend.
"Good morning, boyfriend" Sabito replied and threw a wink at him.
Giyuu blushed furiously. At the back of his head, he thought he might die because of his boyfriend's flirty remark, and that's not a bad way to go.
Sanemi proceeded to throw an eraser that hit right at Sabito's forehead.
"OUCH! What was that for!??"
"This is too early for this PDA bullshit, make out somewhere else you bastards!"
"You wanna a pick a fight huh??? Fight is what you get then!!!"
"Stop, please!!" Giyuu weakly pleaded.
Himejima then came, broke up the fight and scolded Sabito and Sanemi for the morning ruckus.
It's always chaotic in the office, but with Giyuu by his side, Sabito can overcome anything!
