Flying Across Time

Summary:

A collection of WeiLan drabbles. Mixture of drama and novel verse.

Notes:

I did a prompt post "reply with a pairing or prompt and I'll try to write you a fic in a single tweet" here and it was hard to fit the single tweet constraint but also a lot of fun so I did two other ones here and here. I decided to try extending the single tweet fics into drabbles and - here they are!

Not necessarily everything is going to be from the prompt posts. Also, if you want to leave a prompt, feel free!

Chapter 1: Prompt: Alternate Identity Reveal

Summary:

Shen Wei, filthy and exhausted after a long day chasing Dixing criminals, teleports straight into his apartment. But there’s already someone there.

“Y-Yunlan?” he says, at a complete loss.

Notes:

For the prompt "weilan, alternate identity reveal." Extended from here.

Drama verse.

Chapter Text

Shen Wei, filthy and exhausted after a long day chasing Dixing criminals, teleports straight into his apartment. But there’s already someone there.

“Y-Yunlan?” he says, at a complete loss.

“Who else would you be expecting?” Zhao Yunlan frowns, and then grins. “Hello, Lord Envoy.”

Shen Wei stares at him. “How did you get in here?”

“Oh, uh… The door wasn’t locked?” Zhao Yunlan tries. Shen Wei gives him an unimpressed look. “Okay, you got me,” he sighs. “I…gained entry without your permission.” It figures that he can extend his BSing skills to make ‘breaking in’ sound so harmless. “I mean, I had to investigate a suspicious figure who seems to be involved in a lot of my cases, right? It’s my duty.”

“A suspicious figure,” Shen Wei repeats with a wry twist of his lips. “Okay, you’ve found me out.” He sighs and, figuring there’s no point in continuing to hide, sits down and looks squarely at Zhao Yunlan, who’s lounging on Shen Wei’s couch like it’s his own. “I guess you have a lot of questions for me.”

“I do, actually, but I just have a pressing one right now.” Zhao Yunlan’s expression is uncharacteristically serious. “The Shen Wei that I know, who offers me tea and can’t figure out a phone and gets concerned when I so much as get a scrape – he’s not a pretense, is he?”

Shen Wei just looks at him. He feels like if he has to answer that question verbally, he might as well not.

Zhao Yunlan makes a “hm” sound and then suddenly gets right in front of Shen Wei. “Hey, let me ask you, if I called you Lord Envoy, would that be a turn off? I think that could make for some interesting roleplay, you know.”

Shen Wei’s face goes so red he probably looks like he has a fever. He feels rather like it too even though he’s never actually been sick before. At least, not in body.

Zhao Yunlan’s eyes flicker down. “I think you like that idea.”

“Yunlan,” Shen Wei says, helplessly.

“Shen Wei,” Zhao Yunlan says, and then, softer, “Xiao Wei.”

Shen Wei swallows and closes his eyes as Zhao Yunlan’s lips find his.
