Qi Yan watched in fascination at her fiancée applying the blush on her cheeks. She felt her fangs coming out at the alluring sight.
Jingnu saw the smirk appearing on Qi Yan’s face through the mirror. She rolled her eyes. “I know you’re fully capable of making me blush without all of this.” She gestured towards the makeup brush in her hand. “But, we have a new student to greet. Did you forget we’re in charge of the student council?”
Qi Yan huffed and laid back on the bed, her arms crossed as she stared at the ceiling. “No, you are. I just like following you around and making sure no one hurts you.” She was so tired and bored of this university for the supernaturals.
“Oh, please. I know you’re on the council because you care about the well-being of our people. Don’t play tough with me. I know you’re the one fixing the rules and drafting up all of the new guidelines.”
“Did Baishi tell you that? I told him not to.” She sat up, annoyed at her friend’s nosiness.
“No, but you just confirmed it.” She looked at Qi Yan in a ‘I-told-you-so’ manner. Then she walked over to her fiancée and straddled her lap. “And seriously? You want to make sure no one hurts me? Did you forget I’m one of this generation’s greatest witches?” She soothed away the scowl lines on Qi Yan’s face then she placed a gentle kiss on her lips.
Qi Yan wrapped her arms around Jingnu, not wanting to let her go yet.
“Nuh-uh, we’re not done talking yet.” Jingnu put some space in between them.
Qi Yan groaned in displeasure.
The latter chuckled. “Why are you so keen on protecting me when I could turn literally anyone into a frog, including you.”
“You would turn me into a frog?”
“If the situation called for it.”
“Would you still love me if I was a frog?” Qi Yan asked, faking sadness.
Jingnu giggled. “Stop trying to change the subject.”
“Fine, I’ll tell you but only if you give me another kiss.”
“I’ll give you more than a kiss if you tell me,” she challenged. Nangong Jingnu never lost to anybody, especially not to Qi Yan. She also knew her fiancée had the weakest spot for her.
More than a kiss? Qi Yan brightened up at this. “I know you’re a powerful witch, but I can’t help it. I love you too much.” Then she puckered her lips.
Jingnu squished Qi Yan’s cheeks together. “I’m being serious. Tell me, please?”
Who was strong enough to deny those eyes? Definitely not Qi Yan. She gave in. “Fine, I just get so scared at the thought of losing you. You have a target on your back, they all fear you. What if they take you away from me one day? How could I ever live without you?” She placed her hands around Jingnu’s and held them close to her chest.
Jingnu softened even more at this. She didn’t know Qi Yan was worried to that extent. “Nothing will happen to me, I promise. They fear me for a reason. Also, did you forget that no one even dares to approach me because they’re afraid of you, the heir to a powerful vampire clan, constantly hovering around me? That reminds me; you really have to calm down on the glaring.”
“Good. They should be afraid of me.” She chuckled proudly.
“I worry about you too, you know. What if something bad happens to you?” confessed Jingnu.
“Baby, I know you put a protection spell over me.”
Jingnu’s eyes widened at this, but she didn’t ask how Qi Yan knew. She assumed the intelligent vampire naturally knew all along. “I had to do it because you’re so busy protecting me that you never worry about yourself.”
“So we’re just a couple who’s highly protective of each other?” Qi Yan asked.
“Yes,” she sighed. She loved Qi Yan with all of her heart. She would never let anything happen to her and she knew Qi Yan had the same sentiment.
“So can I get a kiss now?”
Jingnu groaned. “Is kissing all you think about?”
“No. Kissing you is all I think about.” Qi Yan smiled happily.
“We’re running late so five minutes is all you get. Don’t forget the new student we have to show around. And no fangs,” she reminded her. Qi Yan had a habit of leaving marks behind.
“That’s more than enough time.” She flipped Jingnu onto her back and kissed her. There was nothing she loved more than pleasing the girl underneath her.
Jingnu couldn’t hold back her moans. Her fiancée was kissing her senseless. She relished in all of the feelings Qi Yan evoked in her. She lost track of time.
After their five-minute makeout session, Jingnu went to the mirror to reapply her makeup and fix her hair. She gasped at the marks on the side of her neck. “Qi Yan, I said no fangs!” How was she gonna cover it up now? They had to leave.
“I’m sorry, I just got so caught up in the moment with you,” Qi Yan said, not sorry at all.
“Ugh, let’s just go. Put those intense glaring eyes to use.” She held out her hand to Qi Yan.
“As you wish, my queen.” Qi Yan readily clasped her lover’s hand and followed her out the door. She would gladly follow her anywhere, even to the ends of the earth.
