Modern AU Homebased Worker Song Zichen X School Teacher Xiao Xingchen
The New Year has come and Zichen asked Xingchen if he can make the couplet for their house. He doesn’t really trust his calligraphy nor does he want to just buy one. He didn’t mind to look at it anymore however he noticed something changing. The packages outside of the house became more organized and even the food delivery too. He never heard the doorbell ring too, unless it was his nosy workmate AKA Wei Wuxian who visited and brought him some materials. His life became more quiet and blissful because everything is in order.
However when March came he was forced by Wei Wuxian to go out and he did. He was surprised though when he went back home because he saw the couplets his darling Xingchen installed at the door and there he knew what forced the change.
He asked for a day off from his night shift work and prepared a meal for Xingchen. The man arrived around 10 minutes late from his usual arrival and is surprised by the dinner. Zichen was already sitting at the dinner table and he could feel there was something wrong.
“Zichen, it has been a while since you made dinner.” he sheepishly comments. “I went out today and saw it.” he answered coldly. “Saw what?” Xingchen is sweating already because he is totally clueless of what his husband was talking about.
“I never doubted you Xingchen.” The house husband coldly says as he looks into Xingchen’s eyes. “I am not doing anything wrong! I was at the elementary school the whole day so I won’t be able to do anything bad to you and to this relationship. Zichen!” He was stopped when the other man gestured using his hand. “Xingchen, I know you are a wonderful person but.”
“But?” A lot of things are already running through his head but he would have never cheated or anything. Tears have started to pool in his eyes.
“Why are you crying? I just wanted to talk about those couplets you installed at the door. I never looked at it and just picked up the food or parcel when I went out that door. I was surprised to see something different.”
“Oh you mean that?” His mood shifted right away to a happy one. “I saw it on the internet last year and I was thinking it would be good for you. I don’t want you to be disturbed when a delivery is done especially in your sleep so I decided to do it.” He stood up and picked up Zichen’s hand. “Did you not like it?” he said with a sad tone.
“I love it. I don’t know what my family will say though if they see it. They might say we are weird.” He clenches his hand that is being held by his husband and pulls it into a kiss. “Only a kiss on my hand?”
“I know that you also installed that so I won’t see those things you bought online because of impulse so…”
“ZiCHEN, you figured out right away!” He pouts however he receives a surprise peck. “Zichen MORE!” he pouts more and he notices that his husband is beet red too.
“After dinner, I will give you more.” Zichen murmurs. “Understood! Looking forward to it!”
