Accidents happen, I suppose (OLD)

Summary:

Albedo had never messed up an experiment, ever. If it wasn't for that damn sleaze, named Kaeya, this situation wouldn't have occurred in the first place but... here we are. Who in the name of the Anemo archon, lord Barbatos, let the Calvary Captain and Chief Alchemist raise a child!

...Wait, a child?

Chapter 1: Cryo Feathers, Geo Floras and Frosting Petals.

Chapter Text

Pigtails bounced as the turquoise-blue haired child made her way throughout the headquarters of the knights of Favonius. Her teal eyes twinkled and her star-shaped pupils were quite big, a huge smile plastered across her face as she hopped through the halls, looking for a certain captain’s door.

Sierra Alberich, the child of the Cavalry Captain and Chief Alchemist, Kaeya Alberich and Albedo. How did she come about? With such a relationship it shouldn't be equivalent to a child, right?

Sierra was around the age of 5. Albedo, who Sierra likes to call ‘Papa’, was the one who was mainly raising her, along with babysitting Klee at times, still. (It was quite amusing seeing Klee so excited about finding out she had a new playmate to adventure with, even with the slight age gap between them.) Kaeya helped at times, I mean... he technically is Sierra's father, in which he was called ‘Daddy’ by the girl.

They co-parented, but they weren’t together. Just two adults with a double-jointed custody deal, if you’d like to put it in simple terms.

I mean, the two didn’t have feelings for one another, right?

“Daddy!” Sierra shouted, bursting through the Calvary Captain’s door, happily running up to his table, where he sat. He looked somewhat disgruntled, holding a piece of paperwork before the little girl came in. He looked up at her and smiled.

“Ah, Princess! What brings you here? Are you feeling bored?” He asked, placing the piece of paper down. He rested his elbow on the table, leaning slightly forward as he placed his head on his hand. Sierra peeked from the other side of the table, which created an ‘awe’ to come out of Kaeya, as she placed her hands on the edge, tiptoeing to see her father better.

“I’m so bored! With big sister Klee busy, I have no one to play with!” She said, pouting. A chuckle came from Kaeya, he hummed before he began to think. “Hm, bored you say? If you’re bored, why don’t you stay and give daddy some company?” He asked, to which she agreed, but then pouted, once again.

“But you have a boring job, daddy. Oh, I know!” She said, getting to her feet, once again, and running around the table, going up to Kaeya and smiling. “Can we go see papa?”

Silence.
“Sure, Sierra.”

Papa, Papa.
It took some time to get used to, Albedo must admit. He never had familial relationships with anyone, besides Klee. She was only just a child, put under his care by her mother. Alice, the famed adventurer from MondStadt, hasn’t been heard from in over 3-4 years.

‘Two samples of blood should never be in the same experiment together, at all. Especially in an experiment which included manufacturing artificial humans.’ The mental note came to Albedo suddenly, making him sink into deep thought, his hand came up to his chin as the other landed on his hip, a thinking stance.

Albedo sighed, closing his eyes as his mind began fogging up with certain memories of that specific date he made the note. If only he was more careful. An asexually produced child was made that day… by accident.

Just like Albedo, Sierra was also made due to the work of chalk alchemy, well- mainly chalk. She was created the same way Albedo was, only with a few tweaks here and there. Albedo originally thought of her as a failed experiment, but soon changed his mind. She was a pleasant surprise.

“Paaapa!” The girl’s voice called out, snapping out of his train of thought. Looking up from whatever he was doing, from his notes of experiments he made that week, and to the door. Footsteps could be heard getting closer and closer- than a halt, as another voice spoke up.

“Be careful, Sierra. You don’t want Albedo to get mad at you again, right? Don’t immediately barge in like last time, the impact could break something in there.” Kaeya sighed, looking down at the child from the other side of the door, which creaked open.

“Oh, Sierra? I thought you were at home.” Albedo said, looking down at her, then at Kaeya. “Ah, you’re here too, Kaeya? What brings you two to my laboratory?” He asks, voice soothing as ever. Sierra ran up to the alchemist, hugging his waist. “Papa! I came to visit you! Along with daddy! But… I wanna spend time with you then watch daddy do his boring job.”

Daddy? Oh, right… she means Kaeya.
Albedo laughs, though it sounded more like an exhale than a laugh. Patting her back, he looked up at the Calvary Knight, who was surprised with what the child said. He couldn’t help his smile. “I see. But, hmm... Boring job? What makes you say that?”

“He has so much paperwork! I’d rather watch Papa’s experiments then see daddy sign papers. Booo~ring.” she hummed, looking up to Albedo. Kaeya let out a slight chuckled, from behind them, before placing a hand over his chest. “How very rude, Sierra! Calling your daddy boring,” he said, acting quite dramatic, which caused Sierra to widen her eyes, immediately letting go of the alchemist and rushing over to the captain. “I don’t think you’re boring, Daddy! It’s more- like… your... Work is boring… but you’re not!” she exclaimed, her eyes begging for the Cryo user to forgive her. He ruffled her hair. “I’m only kidding, Sierra.”

Albedo watched from the door, at the pair. Smiling softly at the view. A thought trickled up into his mind. How did this even start in the first place?
