“… Where’s Ame-san?”
The new Murakumo looks around - no signs of “Ame-san” even among the distinctive green Gou corner. His eyes keep searching, his mind overthinking, stomach growling, and tears falling a bit from his sorrowful eyes. A blanket, a lap pillow, some newly harvested kale, and a box of tissues – good for his stomach, warm against his belly, comfortable for his head, and soft against his tears, but everything still feels painfully intolerable.
The Gou wakizashi leads him around their citadel; he has to take a break after every five minutes of walking. He tries his troops on and goes on his very first expedition, the climate isn’t alright and he’s already worn out by a lot. He makes small dango bites, easy on the stomach but doing absolutely nothing to relieve him from his hauntingly intrusive thoughts.
He becomes the leader of the first team, hands shaking visibly and head full of self-doubts. The team enters the Village of Treasures, trembles covering hanafuda cards and the card drawer’s voice. Some more runs. Two runs left. About 200 beads to go. They’ve struggled their way there.
Some light purple strands, a very familiar warm voice, and also someone’s new start.
