Chapter Text
**Dabi's POV:**
It was supposed to be simple. A quick in and out mission. Let's be real, here, though. When is anything ever simple with the League of Villains Dumbasses?
Dabi had wanted no part in it, though. He would never admit it, but he had a soft spot for kids, and kidnapping one just to place her back in the same abusive situation she had been rescued from didn't sit right, even with his pretty much damaged-beyond-repair moral compass. Yes, he knew that he had aided in the kidnapping of that blond 'Lord Explosion Murder' brat, but that was different. He was just following orders, it was nothing personal. Besides he was 15/16 and a hero-in-training, this girl was only 7. Plus, she was already traumatized enough by what she had been through with Overhaul before. Not that he was going to tell Shigaraki any of this. He may be an villain, but he wasn't a Suicidal one. At least, not anymore. So when Shigaraki told him about the mission he would have that day, he just nodded his head and played along like a puppet on strings. The only qualms (he'd said out loud, at least) was Shigaraki telling him to bring Toga of all people along on this suicide mission.
"Toga?!," Dabi exclaimed, surprised. "You think I should bring Toga along?! She'll probably mess up the mission!" "Hey, I'm right here!" Toga said, throwing a knife at the back of his head. Plastic, of course, AFO would never forgive her if she accidentally killed the LOV's recruiter. And you definitely didn't want to make All For One mad. "So!?" Dabi said, sticking out his tongue and picking the knife up off the ground to toss back at her.
"You two act like children..." Shigaraki muttered, watching as Toga threw it at him again and they started what was similar to a pillow fight in a normal house, but this being the L.O.V base, was a knife fight. "Look at the pot calling the kettle black, you filthy hypocrite!" Dabi taunted, cackling like a witch while ducking as a particularly sharp butter knife just missed his chin. "I thought with that boyfriend of yours you would've started being nicer, since it looked like he was rubbing off on you, but I guess not..." Shigaraki said quietly, making Dabi turn red and almost miss his chance to duck as Toga threw a back-handed shot at his back. "CHEATER, CHEATER!" He called, throwing the same knife at her stomach, causing her to duck, slipping and falling off the couch from which she had been hiding behind, aiming the knifes at him from a safe distance. "Ha! I win!" Dabi shouts, doing a little dance.
"...Are you sure these are the people you want to entrust such an important mission to?" Kurogiri said, trying to be quiet.
"I HEARD THAT!!!"

(A/N: Before we go into this part of the story, lets just clarify that MidoEri or EriDeku or whatever you want to call it is NOT and NEVER WILL BE a valid ship! It is disgusting and pedophilic, and I will not stand for it on this story. So while I can't stop the creeps out there from shipping it, I can make sure that people don't get the wrong idea and think I ship it, because I don't. The cuddling here is PLATONIC, as in like when-you-would-sleep-with-your-mom-after-a-nightmare-as-a-kid kind of platonic. So just remember that.)
**Deku (Midoriya Izuku)'s POV:**
If there was one thing Midoriya Izuku understood, it was nightmares. He had had plenty of them before, after all. Even if Kacchan had apologized and was working to change, it didn't erase the past. Nor did it stop him from waking up now, two years later, in a cold sweat because he'd dreamed about that day again.
Midoriya didn't hate Kacchan for it, though. Even if he could- everything that had happened back then was totally his fault, no 'ifs', 'ands', or 'buts' about it. He had long learned that holding that intense of a hate in your heart will only poison you from the inside out, changing you and making you into someone you won't even recognize- and if there's anything he wanted less, it was that. So he forgave Kacchan when he made his apology, and tried to move on, because he could see in his eyes that he had really meant it. Not like back when they were kids, when some kid he'd pushed around had snapped and told their parents on him, and he would be called into the principal's office to give an apology, one that Midoriya always knew rang of insincerity, even if the teacher's didn't.
But here was again, waking up from another nightmare. Or was he awake? Someone was pacing back and forth on his door at- 12 A.M in the morning, he thought, looking at the alarm clock on his desk - and there's no way that was in real life. Except it was getting louder, as the creaks alerted him as the person started pacing harder, clearly growing more anxious about doing whatever they had come here for. And now someone was knocking. Definitely not a dream, then. He hopped quietly up out of his bed, sliding into the black and green rabbit slippers he always had laying right in front of the aforementioned bed, and padded over to the door.
"Eri...?"
"Why are you here?" He asked, as the blue-haired girl clung to his legs, knocking him over and causing him to trip back into the room, landing on his carpet, with her sitting on his legs. "I I I h ha ha had a nightmare again... Can I sleep with you?" She stuttered, hiding her face in his fuzzy blue pajama bottoms- his favorites because they had All Might's face printed on them. He felt his pants began to moisten, and he realized she was crying. (A/n: Nooo my poor baby :( ISTG Eri deserves the world fight me on that I fucking DARE you-) Midoriya sat up, pulling her to his chest, hugging her and whispering calming phrases until she calmed down, at least a little.
"Are you feeling better now?" He asked, seeing her ragged breathing and choked sobs slow to a stop. ....Oh. She had fallen asleep. He didn't want to move, if even to get a blanket or to put her to bed, so he decided he'd just stay like that.

**Dabi's POV:**
It was like everything that could go wrong, did. Dabi swears, he must have kicked a grandma down the stairs or killed a pregnant lady in his past life, because he had some horrible bad karma in this one. Not that he hadn't done enough to get bad karma in this life, too, of course. But it just seemed like his life was set to overall suck mode from the day he came out from the womb. First his scummy childhood with Mr. 'I-want-to-beat-All-Might-and-I-don't-care-what-it-will-take-me-to-get-there' Endeavor. Then being sold to the commission when "Daddy Dearest" decided he couldn't afford to feed such a "useless" child anymore. Then when the commission abandoned him on the streets after they discovered 'The Incident', because they got tired of the trouble he came along with and thought it'd be better to cut their losses then and there. His whole life was a series of disappointments, like he was the antagonist of some Netflix drama or something.
"Dabi! DABIIII!" Called a voice, but a weird-sounding one, almost as if the speaker was calling from the bottom of the well.
"Dabiiii-chan!~" yelled a voice, and Dabi got a sudden and unwelcome startle from his trip down memory lane, as his line-of-vision was suddenly filled with ash-blond hair, tickling his nostrils. "ACHOO!" Dabi sneezed, jumping back quickly before he recognized the blonde hair swinging in front of his face just seconds ago to be Toga. Of course- only Toga. The annoying blonde, sadistic, brat with hematolagnia that he had somehow also started to see as a little sister in the few months he had been with the League. (A/N: I know that their dynamics as of yet seem much more like that of people who are out for each other's blood {in Toga's case literally} but he does care for her. In his Dabi-ish way. Which is basically just calling people annoying and complaining about them all the time but having their back when it really counts.) "Aw, you're so jumpy~ It's kind of cute~" Toga said, blushing with that typical big teethed smile of hers, as Dabi felt a chill go down his spine. As much as he loved the brat, he had to admit her sadistic behavior freaked him out a lot a bit all the time sometimes.
"I'm not jumpy, you just freaked me out, weirdo," He shot back, glaring.
"Anyway, what did you have to go and get up all in my face like that for? I can hear you perfectly well from over there." He continued, pointing to a spot at least 3 and a half feet away, which he deemed a safe distance in case she decided to do a sneak attack to try and take some of his blood. "But, Dabi-chan, you weren't responding~ So I had to get up close where you could hear me better~" She said, pouting like a petulant child. "Fine, whatever," He rolled his eyes. "So what did you have to tell me?" He said, coming a bit closer, but not that close in case she decided it was time for a little "stabby-stabby time", as she called it.
"Oh, I'm ready to leave," She said, her face regaining it's past expression, one of the few ones where she wasn't blushing like crazy with a expression to get her thrown in a psych ward. "I got the syringe too!" She said, holding up the syringe with a tranquilizing drug in it. Compress had suggested bringing it along, in case the girl woke up and sent up a alarm, and Dabi had a feeling it would come in handy. "And you didn't mention this earlier? Kurogiri, portal!" Dabi yelled, grabbing his face mask up off the ground- though if things went as planned, he wouldn't need it- and putting it on. "Take us to where Eri is!" He said, stepping in after Toga, and feeling the room whisk away. (A/N: I lowkey head-canon that taking Kurogiri's portal would feel like taking Floo Powder in the Harry Potter-verse IDK why so I modeled this after that-)
The rest of that night was a white blur.

**Aizawa Shouta | Eraserhead's POV:**
Aizawa felt like he should've known today was going to go down in flames. It was like an eternal paradox- if he ever had a peaceful, happy day for once. it was destined to end horribly in one way or another. Like the day Bakugo set the school rooftop on fire. He still wasn't clear on how or why that happened, because the kid refused to say anything about it, but he was certain it had something to do with Todoroki, because Kaminari had reported seeing him go to the roof about 30 minutes before Bakugo, and 20 minutes later, the roof was on fire. Principal Nedzu called to let him know very clearly that under no circumstances was the boy ever allowed up there AGAIN. And that morning had been so perfect, too. So it should've been nothing new when the #1 problem child, as he had Midoriya saved on his phone as, called, panicking to let him know that he had two villains in his room, one who was currently unconscious and the other who had accidentally started a fire and now wouldn't wake up. All in a day's work, he thought dryly as he alerted Hizashi (Present Mic) and Nedzu as to what was going on and headed over to help put out the fire before any students could get hurt trying to stop it.
Sometimes he wondered how he got himself involved in these things.
