Happy Birthday Rosho!

Summary:

Happy birthday to the beloved Rosho Tsutsujimori!

Notes:

I know I should have probably just focused on Rosho's special day but I just had to add some Jyusho in there. I hope you all enjoy this fic!

Work Text:

“Good morning Sho-chan,” Jyuto greeted Rosho as he walked into the kitchen.

“Good morning. Why are you awake so early?” He asked his boyfriend and then noticed that he was cooking eggs and toast. “Isn’t today my day to cook breakfast?”

Jyuto smirked. “Yes, but I wanted to treat you on your special day.” He said and turned on the coffee machine.

Rosho frowned. “Special day?”

“Did you seriously forget?” He poured him a cup of coffee and added a lot of cream and sugar, just the way Rosho likes it. He handed him the cup and kissed his cheek. “Happy Birthday dear.”

Realization finally struck him. “Oh.”

Jyuto shook his head in disappointment. “You are so smart yet you forget your own birthday. How sad.”

He smacked his arm. “Hey! I’ve been busy lately so you can’t blame me for forgetting.”

Jyuto chuckled and placed bread and eggs on two plates. “Oh well, at least now you are aware.”

Rosho kissed his cheek quickly and took the plate of food.

“Thank you.” He said with a faint smile.

He smirked. “Of course dear.”

“Happy birthday sensei!” His students cheered when Rosho walked into the classroom.

“Aaah!” He yelped. He wasn’t really expecting his students to wish him a happy birthday.

“H-how did you all know it was my birthday today?” He said approaching his desk, which was now covered in wrapped presents.

“We looked it up. We just wanted to wish you a very happy birthday!” One student exclaimed.

“Yeah, you’re one of my favorite teachers!” Another student said and the class murmured in agreement.

Rosho smiled at that. He still hasn’t gotten over his stage fright and in turn hasn’t been able to teach to the best of his ability. But the fact that his students still appreciated him and supported him made him feel better. He turned away from his desk and looked at his class. “Thank you all for the wishes and gifts. I-I’ll treasure them.”

The class cheered again.

“Alright let us begin class.”

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Bye sensei! Happy birthday again!” All of the students had begun to file out of the classroom, wishing him a happy birthday as they leave. Rosho smiled and waved them goodbye then turned to his work. Even though it was his birthday he still had quite a bit of grading to do.

His phone dinged. It was a message from Jyuto.

I am coming to pick you up from school. See you in 30.

He smiled at that. He finished grading his work and went to meet Jyuto at the school entrance.

Jyuto was in the driver’s seat of the car furiously typing on his phone.

Rosho waved. “Jyuto.” He hurriedly put his phone away at the sound of his voice.

“Oh hey Sho-chan. Ready to go home?” He nodded and stepped into the car. Jyuto handed him a cup of coffee.

“Vanilla latte easy on the foam?”

“You know me so well.” He smirked and took a sip of his drink, the warm and sweet coffee clearing his throat.

Jyuto started the car and began to drive back to their home.

After a few minutes of peaceful silence, he asked him, “Was school good today?”

“Yes! They all wished me happy birthday and gave me presents.” He smiled thinking about today’s events.

“Oh really?” Jyuto parked the car into their driveway. “I’m glad you had a good day today.”

“It was fun, but I’m tired and now I just want to relax.” Rosho said opening the door.

“SURPRISE!” Sasara and Rei cheered and showered confetti everywhere while Samatoki and Rio blew their blaring party horns.

“Gah!” Rosho jumped, falling straight into Jyuto behind him. He held him up and smirked at his reaction.

“Surprise Sho-chan.”

“Jyuto what the hell is all this!” He exclaimed.

“Now now Rosho no need to be rude.” Sasara snickered and wrapped an arm around him, pulling him away from Jyuto. “It’s a party because it’s you’re birthday! Surprised, aren’t you? Rosholy surprised.”

Sasara laughed at his own joke and Samatoki rolled his eyes. “Stop using your friend’s name for shitty puns. He doesn’t need to hear that now of all times.”

“But Rosho likes my jokes! Don’t ya?”

Rosho lightly smacked his back. “Shut up,” Rosho took in the scene around him. His house was decorated with streamers, banners, and balloons of all colors. A creamy cake was on the center table with the words happy birthday Rosho written on them. He then glanced at the people surrounding him. His partner in crime Sasara, his supporting friend Rei, his new friends from Mad Trigger Crew, and of course, his dear boyfriend Jyuto. He didn’t have the words to express how grateful he was to have his birthday celebrated.

Jyuto chuckled. “What’s the matter? Struck speechless? I’m the one who planned this elaborate operation. So if you want to thank someone thank me.”

Rosho laughed and pulled Jyuto into a hug. “You stupid rabbit,” He planted a quick kiss on his lips. “Thank you.”

He blushed at the gesture, but still smiled proudly.

Sasara clapped enthusiastically. “Hooray to the cute couple! Let’s now eat cake!”

“Sasara you ruined the moment.” Samatoki groaned.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about.” He giggled.

As Rosho cut the cake he remembered all of those lonely birthdays he had as a kid. Never being able to eat a lot of cake. Never being able to hang out with friends. Never being able to feel this loved. His life was just darkness.

But now he was surrounded by a warm glow of happiness. He has more than he could ever ask for. As his friends all sang happy birthday, he smiled to himself and wished for this glow to never fade.
