Katsuki stood in his spot in front of the crowd, smiling faces surrounding him. Izuku’s mom sat front row, already barely holding back her tears. He knew she’d be a sobbing mess by the end. He saw a group of their old classmates, too. Todoroki and Momo were sitting together, holding hands as they waited. Tsuyu had her hair up and was sitting patiently. The blonde was fidgeting, tugging at the hem of his black tux, uncomfortable. And then soft music started and the idle chatter from the congregation died down as everyone turned to watch the large oak doors swing open.
Katsuki blinked as Izuku emerged. The blonde couldn’t take his eyes off of the freckled beauty making his way down the aisle. Izuku cleaned up very well. He looked absolutely stunning in his white tuxedo, tailored just for him. He was glowing with joy, his smile shining through the whole room. Katsuki felt his heart stop in his chest for a moment, biting his lip at how absolutely beautiful Izuku looked.
Katsuki couldn’t help but think about how much he loved Izuku. How in love with him he was. He loved the man so much it hurt his chest. Izuku slowly made his way down the aisle, handing his bouquet off to Ochako before taking his spot front and center. Katsuki swallowed hard as that bright smile hit him full force, knocking the wind out of him. Izuku was so happy, and Katsuki could only hope he never stopped smiling like that. If anyone deserved this happiness, it was Izuku.
The officiator cleared his throat, and everyone was focused on the couple at the front. Katsuki couldn’t help his own small smile that echoed off of Izuku’s. This was an important day, after all. The ceremony proceeded, but honestly Katsuki couldn’t be bothered to pay attention. How could he when Izuku was right there looking like something pulled right from Katsuki’s fantasies? How many times had he imagined Izuku in a white suit like this, standing before him at the altar? How many nights had he spent planning out every detail? How could he be expected to pay attention to anything else in that moment?
He only snapped out of it when the officiator asked if anyone had any reason these two should not be wed. Katsuki could think of a million reasons. He could go on, giving a laundry list of excuses, reasons to stop the wedding. Call it all off. Cancel everything and send everyone home. But he bit his lip and no one said a word. No one dared disturb the obvious love and happiness spreading through the whole chapel.
“Then, by the power vested in me, I now pronounce you man and husband. You may kiss.”
Izuku’s grin grew impossibly brighter as he wrapped his arms around his husband’s shoulders and pulled him in for a kiss. Katsuki could only assume Kirishima wore a similar expression as he dipped Izuku in front of everyone. When they pulled apart, their hands were clasped tightly together and Katsuki could see they were both crying. They were the picture of happiness, standing there in their matching white tuxes, being cheered on by friends and family alike. Katsuki could feel the pang in his chest from his spot as best man, but he knew this was what they deserved. He may have been in love with Izuku, but he knew he didn’t deserve anything more than he got. It was obvious how in love those two were, and Katsuki just wanted them to be happy. He’d spent far too long making Izuku’s life hell. Making him miserable. Now he just wanted him to be happy. And as much as he hated to admit it, he knew that being with Kirishima would make him happier.
