Denki and Y/n, were known as the perfect couple, high school sweethearts and all.
Only a month after graduating UA, all of class 1-A met up for a celebration, not for their graduation but for the newest engagement.
The class agreed only to get a small hall to rent for the celebration, Y/n and Mina were in charge of decorating, kirishima, bakugo and todoroki were in charge of food and everyone else did secret planning aka The Perfect Engagement. There was just one small problem, Denki still haven't proposed to y/n. The party was a way for denki to propose to y/n, in her fairy tale way.
The time had come, for the party. Denki nervously fixes his suit in the mirror before Bakugou grabs his hand "Stop fidgeting sparky, she's gonna say yes"
Denki sighs, if only I could guarantee that . Despite having dated for 3 years, denki was still extremely nervous around y/n. But today it seemed magnified, his throat was dry and his hands were sweaty.
Y/n was in the same place, somewhat. She fussed over everything in the venue, to say she was a perfectionist is an understatement.
The main doors open and In come in the boys of class 1-A, all dressed up to the nines. Denki makes a b-line right to you, "I missed you" he whispers, I giggle at his words "You saw me a few hours ago" Denki hugs you before responding "yea but a few hours ago you weren't all done up like a princess" kiss places a kiss on your cheek.
The night went smoothly, the food was great, the decorations stayed in place and you had Denku by your side the entire time. Finally it became party time, with Jiro acting as DJ, which completely suits her.
I'm not one for dancing, which is uncomfortable for Denki. Every song he tries to dance with you, you start to feel bad by the 20th song. After a song Jiro says "All right the next song is for couples only, so y/n dance with your man once" My cheek heats up after her words and my favourite song starts playing 'I will always love you' by Dolly Parton.
Denki stands and extends a hand to you "Shall we My Lady" he smiles at me with his boyish smile, which is impossible to go against. I take his hand and we slow dance to the song. We were the only ones on the dance floor but I didn't care I'm here with Denki and his radiant smile.
The song plays the final note and Denki steps back and holds my hands, the hall is dead silent and everyone is looking at us. It doesn't hit me until denki is down on one knee with a box in his hand.
"Y/n, my sunshine, my opposite, my genius, my world, my love, when I met you in our 1st year at UA I thought you were the most attractive girl in the world, now how ever I know you're the most attractive girl in the world. I could never imagine my life without you, would you do me the honor and become my wife" denki finishes by opening the box, which held a beautiful ring with a sapphire set in the middle.
I was in shock from his words and actions, he wants to get married. "Yes yes yes absolutely yes" Denki stands up and hugs me as the rest of the class cheers and a specific voice reaches my ears "I told you she would say yes dumbass" I'm on cloud nine, I could die happy.

A year into marriage Denki expressed the wish to have kids, naturally I agree, who wouldn't want mini Denkis running around. We bought a house with 3 bedrooms. We designed everything for the baby rooms from the cribs to the curtains even the light in the room was changed.
Denki and I have been trying for months to have a kid, to no avail. We finally decided to go to the doctors to see what was wrong.
"Miss, you can not have kids"
It only took 6 words to destroy my world, my dream future. Denki bounced back faster than I did. "Don't worry cutie we can always adopt, there are plenty of kids out there without a home, we can become that home"
He isn't wrong, my personal sunshine in my dark world. "It's gonna take some time to get over but you're not wrong love" I kissed him on the cheek and we went home with a bleak cloud over our heads.
Hopefully this is just the worst of it.
Weeks passed and things started looking up, Denki was now one of the top heros alongside out classmates. I however have dropped off the hero scene for now, I'll return soon. Only that would never happen.
A month later, I'm diagnosed with stage 2 lung cancer. Again despite the looming cloud Denki keeps smiling.
I'm in the hospital in less than a week, Denki never leaving my side. Often only falling asleep curled up next to Denki. That gets progressively more difficult when I can't breath on my own and have to use a machine to breathe.
Falling asleep next to Denki was the only constant in my life, I don't think I could live without it.
The day they said I wasn't allowed visitors because of my condition, I felt my world completely shatter again. "Just one more time" I whispered to the nurse, only a few words sent me in to a coughing fit.
The doctors let Denki come into my room one last time, I curled up beside my love and closed my eyes and whisper I love you before falling asleep.
A sleep no one ever returns from.

For once Denki didn't smile, he didn't feel anything he was numb. He silently cried at Y/n's funeral, he stood in front of the grave stone with class 1-A, everyone weeping. No one crying louder than Mina, Denki comphored her and the class "She wouldn't want us crying" he said those words more to himself than anyone.
Deku was on all his hands and knees crying and hitting the ground, over the loss of his childhood friend. Bakugo was next to Deku, he was just staring at her head stone with a tear running down his face.
The crowd only dispersed when the yard owner pushed them out, everyone but Denki. Denki crouched down by your headstone and left you favourite flowers. "Marriage is like a card house, you think everything is fine then it falls apart" he felt the tears run down his face, watching them hit] the flowers.
'I'm always by your side even if you don't see me, I will always lend you my strength in times of need, and most importantly, I'm yours now and forever' Denki remembers the words you said on their wedding day. He whispers the words to himself, and he feels a warm hand touch his rain-soaked one.
A smiling y/n was next to him, she was somewhat see through. "Take your time, my sunshine, I'll be waiting, change the world by the time you see me," she says, placing a hand on his cheek before disappearing in the wind.
