Work Text:
yoongi was tired. one would think that being a librarian is an easy and calm job. he only has to sit in front of a computer and search for books when people ask about them, right? easy.
if anyone would actually say this yoongi, they’d probably lose their head because one: it was not like that in the slightest, and two: he liked to be dramatic when he was tired. and tired he was. I probably already said it right? but god, he was really tired.
he stayed in work longer than he intended because some desperate soon-graduate was looking for a book and he needed it. it’s a life-or-death kind of situation, he said. and yoongi didn’t have the heart to leave him. he knew that feeling way too well from his own university days. the librarian at the local library helped him back then too and he felt like he should repay it to her and the universe.
he eventually found the book. misplaced and put with the spine of the book facing the inner part of the shelf. no wonder it took nearly two hours to find it. but he was proud he could help that kid and maybe he would help someone too, eventually. but still, he was fucking tired.
he probably fell asleep for some time because when he stirred awake, the sky was already painted with pink and orange hues of the sunset. it was almost summertime and he couldn’t wait for his deserved vacation.
he heard noise coming for the hall of their little flat. theirs. his and hobi’s. he still felt a bit giddy, saying it out loud or even thinking it. he was too whipped for that man but he couldn’t do anything about it even if he wanted to. it’s just always been there, this love for him. at this point it will probably never go away, so why bothering and hiding it?
again, he was too immersed in his own mind when the literal embodiment of sunshine was only few centimetres away from his face. he was watching yoongi with a glint in his eyes, probably waiting for yoongi to notice him.
“h-hey”, yoongi said.
“hi, babe. missed me?” hobi said and smiled. his smile was nice. yoongi liked hobi’s smile the most in this world. well, his smile and black coffee but hobi was winning by a few points for some time now.
Hoseok still had a bit of soil on his cheek. he was working in a gardening shop and loved it there the most. at the end of the day, he always brought flowers that were left unsold that day and wouldn’t stay nice enough for tomorrow’s market. today, he brought a bunch of sunflowers. they were not the freshest but both yoongi and hoseok preferred them this way. there was a beauty in not so beautiful things, Hoseok always said. and well for yoongi – he was happy to have home full of different flowers every other day.
“long day at work?” hobi asked. the pretty smile still decorating his lips. he was crunching in front of yoongi, who was still laying on the sofa.
“yeah. long day. but it’s better now.”, yoongi replayed, cheesy smile making his way out.
“don’t say it! if you’re being cheesy again…” hobi warned him but yoongi couldn’t help himself. as always.
“it’s okay because my sun is here and I can bloom again.” yoongi said, full on grinning now. plus, it wasn’t like he was lying either. hoseok was really his sun.
“oh c’mon you mr. flower, we gotta wash your teeth and get you in bed. otherwise, you’ll sleep here again and im not bringing you to bed in the middle of the night again!” hoseok tried to sound mad but to yoongi it was just more and more amusing. his hobi wouldn’t leave him here. no, his hobi would dress him in the softest pyjamas and then carry him to bed. even if it was 4am.
what yoongi did not understand was how was hoseok still full of energy, even after working in the gardening shop for the whole day. it was like the sun was recharging his batteries. and he worked under direct sun too. yoongi would either pass out from exhaustion or dehydration because “coffee is not a hydrating fluid, min yoongi!” as hoseok once scolded him. he banned yoongi from drinking coffee for a whole week after that incident. it was the worst week of his life - no joke.
yoongi eventually did get up. washed his teeth and picked up the softest pyjamas he owned. he worked hard, he deserved the pampering.
when he got to bed, hobi was waiting there for him, sitting at the head of the bed. in his own set of pyjamas and with damp hair from the shower he took when yoongi was collecting all his willpower to get up. ah, the sight was worth it.
he got under the covers, put his head on hobi’s lap and wiggled a bit to get comfortable. hoseok actually laughed at his attics but didn’t say anything, just put his hand on yoongi head and began stroking his hair. if yoongi was a cat, he would be purring like crazy now. but he wasn’t a cat just yet, so instead he sighed and smiled.
“feeling better now, yoongs?” hobi asked with a teasing tone in his voice.
“yeah, hoba. the best.” yoongi replied sincerely.
“so sleep now, hm? so you can feel fresh for tomorrow, we’re going to pick some strawberries to taehyung’s farm.” hobi smiled.
“ah okay. I should sleep now then.”
“i think it’s convenient.”
“love you, hoba” yoongi muttered before falling asleep.
“love you too, yoongs.” hoseok said and continued stroking his hair.
