Jimin and Taehyung. Taehyung and Jimin. Two peas in a pod. Two halves of one whole. Soulmates. Bestfriends. Lovers. These are just some of the terms one could use to describe the two, inseparable since they’ve met.
Living up to their brand, they’re currently curled up in each other on the couch. It’s movie night and a romcom film is playing on the screen. They’ve seen this movie twice before but it’s still one that they liked to go back to whenever they feel like it. One of the reasons why is this one line that Jimin claims to be his favourite line ever said in a romantic movie. You like because, and you love despite. He makes it a point to say the lines out loud everytime they watch the particular scene.
This time though, Taehyung beats him to uttering the lines and then giggles at the pout Jimin has directed at him.
“You’re so adorable” Taehyung murmurs as he presses a chaste kiss on Jimin’s pouty lips.
“You’re annoying” Jimin answers back “and yet..” he continues with a glint in his eyes “you’re pretty tolerable.”
“That’s your ‘and yet’ for annoying?!” Taehyung exclaims feigning offense.
“Yeah it is” Jimin just smiles coyly at him.
“Well, you’re annoying too” Taehyung replies back “and yet… you’re the most endearing person I’ve ever had the chance to meet.” Jimin gasps at that and pulls him in for a soft kiss.
“You know what’s annoying? Your chewing. You chew so loudly Taetae” Jimin chuckles at Taehyung’s affronted expression before going on “and yet...you look so adorable when your eating and your cheeks are all full, like newly baked bread and your lips get so pouty when you chew I always want to kiss it.” Jimin ends it with a quick kiss.
“You’re cute, I love you” Taehyung whispers as he presses in a much more lingering kiss.
“I love you too, Taetae” Jimin answers back as he settles back on Taehyung’s chest to continue with the movie.

“Good morning, sleepyhead” Jimin whispers to Taehyung as soon as he spots him already stretching out on their bed. The older, already done with his shower.
“You didn’t wake me, Minnie. We were supposed to go jogging in the park” he grumbles in his much deeper morning voice wiping the last remnants of sleep from his eyes. Hair still tousled over from the sleep.
“I did though. Like three times Tae.” Jimin says as he makes his way over to the bed from the doorway. He can’t help but ruffle the younger’s hair as soon as he gets to a sitting position. “Do you know how hard it is to wake you up, baby bear? Pretty sure your mom gave you the bear nickname because you practically hibernate and not sleep” he jokes. He gets a glint in his eyes as he continues “and yet... this is one of my favourite things in the world to witness. If I ever miss a morning not seeing your bed hair sticking up in different places and your puffy eyes that’s the cutest ever with the slits barely there, my day would have already been ruined. Oh and don’t get me started with your deep morning voice, I love drowning listening to your first words of the day, baby” he ends with a forehead kiss.
“Too early for cheesy, baby. And yet… I love it. I want to add to that but can’t word, brain still waking up. Also, I’m craving for cheese omelets” Taehyung announces.
“I’m on it. Go shower, you big baby” the older says as he exits the room to head to their kitchen.

“Sorry, hyung. We’re on our way I promise” Taehyung mumbles on his phone.
“Taehyung, I could literally tell that you’re still at home” Seokjin says over the phone, exasperation on his voice but a little softer he adds “It’s fine, we don’t have the table yet anyway. Just tell Jimin to hurry it up. I really want this to go smoothly.”
“Don’t worry hyung, I know. We’ll be there soon. I promise everything will turn out well” he assures.
“I know Taehyung-ah. Thank you” Jin ends.
The restaurant that their hyung picked out for his special date is only a 10-minute walk away from the apartment. Tonight was a special night because Jin was officially going to ask their Namjoon-hyung to be his boyfriend. After years of secretly pining for each other, it was inevitable but still Seokjin wanted the grand gesture because Namjoon deserves it.
He enlisted the help of their friend group and Jimin and Taehyung were supposed to be the banner holders. Meaning they also had to have a reservation in the restaurant, but a little bit later than the other’s so Namjoon won’t see them. They still have at least 15 minutes until their reservation and Jimin’s not out yet.
“Jimin-ah, are you ready now? Jin-hyung just called” Taehyung screams from the living room.
“Just a sec, Tae. Give me like 3 minutes” Jimin calls back.
They’re going to be late for their reservation and he tells Jimin so but Jimin just keeps repeating that he’s coming. “You know, you always take the longest when getting ready babe, we’re never never early for anything” Taehyung sighs in defeat. But as soon as Jimin emerges from their bedroom he lets out a gasp and like he’s seeing his boyfriend for the first time ever, he cat whistles and continues “and yet… you’re always worth waiting for because the final outcome is always always so breathtaking. Feels like the first time I ever saw you, all over again, like falling in love at first sight every time”. He steps forward carefully as he encircles his arms around the older’s waist.
“You’re so sappy. I love you” Jimin just giggles at him, blush high on his cheeks and Taehyung reaches down to kiss each cheek and finally his lips. “I thought we were late, baby?” Jimin asks when Taehyung stares at him for a couple more minutes, like he always does. That brings the taller out of his momentary daze as he walks toward the foyer to put on his footwear. Jimin back in the living room to fetch his phone.
Taehyung is just waiting by the open door for Jimin to put on his shoes when he hears a stumble coming from the foyer. “Jimin are you okay?” he asks as he rushes back inside.
He sees Jimin on his butt and already putting on black boots grumpily “It’s your pesky shoes Tae! How many times do I have to tell you to put them away. You never wear them anyway, at least put them in the cabinets for goodness sake, they’re a hazard and one of these days they will kill me.”
“You’re so dramatic. I’ll clean them up later, I promise” Taehyung says as he helps him up.
“Maybe we should just give them away, all you wear is those ugly sandals and slippers anyway” the older exclaims as he’s finally walking towards the door. But at the sight of Taehyung’s pouty lips he adds “and yet… I still like them because I get to see your long toes. They’re so handsome Tae, why are your toes so handsome?”. Taehyung just giggles lovingly at that.
“I think your feet kink is showing, babe” he jokes as he finally closes the door.

They arrive 5 minutes later than their reservation but the receptionists take pity on them and still give them their table. From where they are sitting, they can see their hyung’s chatting animatedly having already ordered their food.
The lovers decided they should order something that’s quick to prepare so they can catch up with their hyungs, so they both order burgers and fries. Strawberry shake for Taehyung and Chocolate Milkshake for Jimin.
When their food arrives, Jimin immediately reaches for the ketchup and drizzles it all over his fries and he watches Taehyung’s face knowing what’s already reflected there. “Why do you always do that?” he asks.
“Do what?” Taehyung asks innocently.
“Do that thing with your face, like I’ve done a crime or something” Jimin answers.
“Ah so you do notice, and you know it’s a crime” Taehyung answers simply, and at Jimin’s confused expression he supplies “See, that ketchup is basically blood in your hands. You’re killing the fries Jimin.”
“What does that even mean?” the older asks, still confused.
“You don’t drizzle the ketchup on the fries, Jimin! It’s a dip! Your fries are dead because they’re all soggy now. You should be arrested for being a fries murderer” he explains.
“Maybe I like them soggy” Jimin answers with a shrug.
“Then you should’ve gotten mashed potatoes instead because that’s all they are now. Sad mushy potatoes” the younger clips back.
Jimin just laughs out loudly. “You shouldn’t be laughing at dead fries Jimin, it’s supposed to be sad” Taehyung pouts some more.
“You’re so cute, you know that? You’re calling me a fries murderer and yet you still let me share your fries every time we go out anyway” Jimin says with a wink.
“That’s because when I feed you fries, I get an excuse to stare at these gorgeous lips” he says as he gently pinches both of Jimin’s lips between his thumb and forefinger. “I’m dating a fries murderer and yet... I forgive you because of these gorgeous luscious lips” he adds as Jimin tries to wiggle free from grip.

Seokjin’s plan goes off without a hitch and once it’s done the group decides to celebrate the not-so-new couple with dessert in the ice cream parlor next door.
“Why do you keep saying we’re not-so-new? You literally were crying holding the bouquet when Joonie said yes?” Seokjin asks as they enter the small parlor.
“Well firstly, because you two have been acting like a couple since forever. And secondly, you’re old, so not new” Jungkook explains which earns him a smack on the back of his head.
They get to the counter and lean on the glass to take a look at the available flavours and Hoseok squeals with joy once he spots the Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream. He points excitedly at it “I’ll take three scoops please!”
The rest of the group laughs when they hear Namjoon's loud groan.
"Just for that I am getting three scoops of Mint Chocolate Chip too!" Taehyung chimes in with a chuckle.
"Guess we're not sharing then" his boyfriend announces as he shrugs past the other's shoulder.
"It's not that bad, Jimin-ah" the younger says.
"Uhuh, could've fooled me. I brush my teeth thrice a day Tae, I know how it tastes" he says as he points to the strawberry flavored ice cream and signs three fingers up to the attendant with a smile.
“I can’t believe the love of my life won’t share ice cream with me just because they hate Mint Chocolate chip” Taehyung says with a shrug.
“You’re being dramatic, Tae. Need I remind you that you used to hate it too” Jimin answers with a wink.
“And then I saw the light, I will make you see the light too, baby” Taehyung says casually.
“Not a chance, you’ll just have to accept the fact that we’re never sharing ice cream ever again” Jimin answers with a smirk
“You say that but you got strawberry ice cream instead of your favourite cookie dough” Taehyung adds with a wiggle of his brows knowing what the older is probably up too.
“I still can’t believe you like toothpaste-flavoured ice cream, no taste babe” Jimin chuckles at the younger’s eye-roll but continues “and yet.. That will not stop me from ordering your actual favorite flavor because either way I’m never not sharing ice cream with you. I’ve always fed you ice cream with my own spoon since we were five years old and I’m not about to stop now baby” he ends with a boop on the younger’s nose.
"I love you" Taehyung murmurs before he gives the older a chaste kiss as a thank you, fond look on his eyes for the love of his life.
“Ew, stop being so soulmatey in the middle of an ice cream parlor. We’re supposed to be celebrating us” Jin groans from right behind Jimin which earns a laugh from the two.
