Ultimately: AU closes indefinitely. Hero industry ridiculed and placed under extreme scrutiny. Izuku is no longer angry, but doesn’t want to work w Tomura following AFO’s death. Disappears w Shouto.

There wasn’t much to say. On a hot summer night, underneath a bridge in Hosu, twelve-year-old, quirkless Midoriya Izuku disappeared. Though tragic, it wasn’t anything that the public paid attention to for long. He had no friends to speak of, no teachers who felt a particular attachment to the child. Midoriya Izuku disappeared without a trace, leaving only a grieving mother behind. And the world moved on.

Three years later a new villain makes himself known to Japan. He is Ambush: a violent and clever character with no name and no story -- only a burning desire to bring Japan to its knees. In the shadows a threat manifests, and more and more important figures are found cut to ribbons or burned to near-unrecognizable crisps. A storm is brewing in the dark alleys and back streets of Japan, and when the clouds break and the rain comes crashing down, Ambush will wash all of hero society away in the floodwater.

TSUGAUCHI PLOT -- to be weaved throughout next few chapters (Fun idea, make it fit!!)

Bakugo wakes up. Tsugauchi returns, asks Bakugo questions: he probably spent the longest time with Ambush. Why was he targeted? “Because I know the bastard.”

 reveals Izuku’s identity. Teachers interested in their shared past. Bakugo reveals that he was initially quirkless, he must have been hiding it or lying. All Might knows AFO must be a part of this. Next question: “Did he reveal anything to you?” “Only that he apparently is the handy-fuck’s guard dog. It was implied he was on higher orders to make sure that if things went South he was supposed to make sure they bailed.” Thanks Bakugo, leaves room. Asks to speak to All Might in private.  Very suspicious. So there was a bigger puppet master pulling the strings? This was bad, even more likely AFO was the main guy. Ambush is an extremely goal-driven, big-picture villain. Him foilin his charge’s plan and thus endangering them was no small detail. Todoroki Shouto must be an important figure. Admits he received mixed signals during his interview. “As much as I hate to say, you need to keep a close eye on the Todoroki kid. He likely knows more than he let on.” 

Has an incredibly difficult time getting to speak to Todoroki. Endeavor’s people make it nigh-impossible for him to get another interview. 

Soto has a man working janitor at Endeavor’s hero agency; notices the detective showing up a bunch asking abou Todoroki. Soto informs the others. “We need to stop him from asking questions.” Izuku: “We can’t just outright kill the only detective hellbent on exposing Shouto. It would look too incriminating.” “Then what would you suggest?”

Shouto’s first real mission. Izuku prompts him with it; tells situation. “They want to kill him, but that would be illogical. They agreed to let him live on one condition. I have a plan, but it requires you getting your hands dirty. Kenji can wipe all his information and backup files, but he keeps them all on a laptop he keeps glued to his side. We need one minute to access the files, but it can’t be obvious that the data corruption is linked to the League in any way, so that suspicion drops from you. Are you up for it?”

Tsugauchi walking home from the police station: masked figure yoinks briefcase and runs. Disappears into an ally; detective follows, gun drawn. Rounds corner and shouto superheats a block of icy, creating steam explosion; destroys laptop. Shouto disappears in the aftermath.

Revealed later that all his data is gone, everything from the past 3 months, backup files and all. All Might: “could it be the league?” him: “I don’t know. The guy who attacked me didn’t have any quirk associated with them. And all the data is gone, wiped indiscriminately. It could have been anybody.” “You’re lucky they didn’t kill you.” “Yea. But why didn’t they?”

 FIND A PLACE FOR THIS Mummy-Zawa enters, and pries deeper into Bakugo’s relationship. Bullying uncovered (Later, Aldera is shut down; Aizawa and Nedzu launched an investigation into the toxic environment. Comes into play later.) 0000

 Now that Bakugo is awake, the school decides to reopen and proceed w the Sports Festival, though Bakugo cannot compete for injuries/punishment. Still gives speech, though, for morale reasons. Izuku goes dressed in getup, goes to support Shouto. Gloss over parts one and two, but make note of Shouto using his fire. Shinsou wins by tricking shouto into talking. Shouto punished thoroughly; so tired he doesn’t answer Izuku

Izuku freaks and sneaks into Endeavor’s home to visit Todoroki. Tender scene, make it heartwarming and heartbreaking, dammit. Marks major shift in their relationship and solidifies Shouto’s resolution to becoming a villain. This ties into his decision to actively participate in Tsucgauchi’s laptop-destruction. 

FOR CHAPTER 19

Tomura texts Izuku about a meeting with Stain, maybe have brief flashback with Tomura allowing Izuku to go to the Sports Festival on the condition that he will be there to speak with Stain.

Izuku will go to Shouto after the meeting for Shouto's "final step into villainy scene"

Bakugo and Shouto 2nd to last bracket . Izuku psyches Bakugo out, right before Shohto lands KO blow (throws more suspicion on Shouto, why would Ambush show up to the sports festival? He didnt hurt anyone, he didn't take anything. No way just there to watch)

Izuku taking notes the whole time, still feels inadequate about USJ performance (later presents them to Tomura as an apology, we see Tomura treat Izuku moderately better) 

Final match, Shouto v Shinsou. Callback to previous interaction outside of 1-A. Shouto slips up (he's still an insecure boi) and Sports Festival ends on a weird note. Ends badly for Shouto (off screen or nah?) :(

Next day. Shouto thinks about texting Izuku; had time to sort through his feelings, decides that if his friends need to tell him something, they will. Just hopeful Izuku isn’t mad anymore. Shouto missed choosing hero names. Chooses “shouto” like in show; he never cared much for hero names, felt they were unimportant, good for flashy & memorable and he never needed that anyways. Now though? Now he supposes he needs a name; ironically he cares about this one. Tells eraser in passing he wants “shouto”. Class ends. It’s wednesday, so “training day”. When he goes to meet Kurogiri, he’s teleported to Sensei and Tomura is there. They go over his successful mission, Sensei wants to know what changed his mind. Let him know when they’ll have use for his services later. Have that scene.

After he gets tp’d to warehouse where Toga and Izuku are. Training. He can tell Izuku wants to talk, but he wants to talk about the convo he heard, not about himself. Izuku doesn’t; shouto throws in his face their honesty policy, Izuku closes up. “Fine then. Good to know I’m trusted with you. See you friday.”

Shouto going to leave, Izuku decides that this is not optimal to plans. Resolves to speak to Dabi about Shouto.

Dabi convo. Why do you feel the need to hide yourself? If anything you could bond over this. Shouto’s not stupid, he knows something is up. If you won’t tell him I will, for the sake of the mission. Dabi doesn’t like that. Threatens him. Izuku stands his ground. “I’ve been a little...lenient as of late. More relaxed around you all. But I still have my main mission. Keeping on like this will harm more than help. You and I both know I have a decent chance of defeating you. Don’t think I won’t eliminate you. Shouto’s necessary to Master’s plan. You’re not.”

“What was all that bullshit about being comrades then? You’d seriously fuck me over after everything?”

“I would. I’d still be keeping my promise to Shouto and seeing out my mission without you in the picture.” Dabi relents; he needs the league’s cooperation to kill endeavor. Izuku is relieved; he didn’t want to lose dabi, maybe now they can do things smoothly.

Back at the bar, just Izuku. Tomura stops him. Where has he been? Out with Dabi. Whatever, I have your next assignment Midoriya. Stain made his latest move in Hosu. I want you to figure out where he’s going to hit next. He’s taking up our spot in the headlines, a nuisance, annoying. I want him dead. Izuku is more than happy to.

Internships choosing time. Learn Iida’s thing w Tensei. Knows he’ll chose endeavor, but not happy about it. Speaking of, it’s his ‘training’ day today. 

Friday. Warp, finds himself at the beach where he and Dabi train. On edge, suspicious. Dabi tense. He asks him to sit down; he’s not gonna feel like standing in a little bit.

Izuku at Park at night. Received text from Dabi to meet him there. Somewha anxious. How does dabi even know about that spot?  Dabi and shouto show up; Izuku stands to meet them and gets clocked by shouto. Stunned, shouto pulls him up by the collar and Izuku instinctively goes to swipe at him; shouto kisses him. Dabi is grossed out/livid. Izuku shocked speechless. Shouto explains “We’re dating. There. No more secrets between the three of us. I’m my own person. I’ve made my own choices to get here. Stop treating me like I’m glass. We all want the same thing, more or less?” It’s all good. (no more shouto/izuku angst, woman!)

Soto has shouto get legal docs from endeavor w out izuku knowing to prove shouto knows what he’s doing. <<<

Training. Several weeks & izuku is planning w soto for how the big reveal of endeavor is gonna go down. Shouto kills Stain, this happens in between. Aldera shut down; Izuku addresses this in a livestream & kills principal. Calls out katsuki during.

 [ Public unease, Brief scenes at school. Shouto grows more removed but apparently happier (Yaomomo concerned why is he acting so strange w things as bad as they are?). Goes to Fuyumi, Fuyumi reveals that shouto says hes been hanging w them. Yaoyorozu somehow runs into detective (why she places a tracker on him, naomasa talks her into doing it). Signal from second tracker messes w Kenji;s, texts shouto to tell him someone’s likely placed on bug on him. Izuku comes to choice to use it to their advantage. They plan at the Hero’s Gym. ]

Izuku leaves to go aid AfO, leaves dabi and Shouto to it. Izuku summoned to Master (@ nomu factory). Explosionnnn, nomu factory reveal like w source material. Izuku kills All Might (All Might reluctant to hurt him, extremely guilty.) Izuku reveals All Might’s actions that turned him to villainy. “I’m so , so sorry Midoriya. I couldn’t save you.” “I know.” Kills him. AfO beckons Izuku over to pat, steals quirk back. Reveal that he’s known about him and Shouto, disappointed in him. Izuku crushed, blacks out from pain. Shouto there, left dabi to endeavor to follow izuku. Steam explosions AfO (he’s weakend from fight after all) injects him w Izuku’s venom. Goes to Izuku’s side, he’s heavier than expected, out cold. Dabi arrives, takes Shouto and runs.

[Izuku arrested. Katsuki visit w family. Have a fun asf sene w that. Scene w him and mama inko. Naomasa was right, but sad and stuff. Talks to izuku in tartarus (improved security since his infiltration). Toga sneaks in as guard, incapacitates camera guards, locks d Kenji scrambles footage for a few seconds, swap out him w other guard, they skedaddle. Scene w the villains (tomura to take over, Izuku realizes he’s no longer any obligation to stay, fallout, he leaves w shouto). Epilogue.] Revise, revise

Rewrite article bit. Principal denies allegations of neglect, fights UA. 

Izuku walks into aldera, broad daylight. Incapacitates front desk and administration. Takes record of students in past 5 years. Threatens them, leaves. Sets up scenarios w principal. Accuses him of negligence and encouraging abuse. Calls out kacchan. Principal denies it"We're gonna play a game. I have with me a list of quirkless students that have passed through your school since my 'disappearance'. Specifically those who, one way or another, left Aldera before graduation. There are quite a few. twenty-four, actually. All you should be familiar with; their records all say they visited you for one thing or another multiple times. Now, I'm not an unreasonable villain. I want you to name three. Three quirkless children that came for you with their problems, three quirkless children who walked Aldera's halls. If you can do that, you win. If not, well...do you know what it feels like to burn from the inside out while you slowly suffocate? I don't, personally. But my friend Yakedo, here...he specializes in it. The game starts now." He is able to name them, but it takes quite some time. Izuku takes his time, reads what happened to each. At the end of it Izuku slashes his throat open on camera.

"That's all the time we have for tonight, ladies and gentlemen at home. Thank you so very much for turning in"

Inter space this w Naomasa and All Might organizing police, finding his location, sending out forces. When they get there the camera is still rolling and it switches POV to the camera, All Might busting in to find the dead body. End of chapter.

Chapter 32 outline:

Izuku POV: back to the bar, villains congratulate. Izuku still on Ambush-high. Shouto a little shell-shocked, slow to respond to rest of villains. Dabi there. Quiet and grumpy. Shouto reaches for his hand and Izuku reacts violently. Insta-regret, but he pretends nothing happened. Shouto leaves the bar. Dabi follows. Doesnt leave as so arouse sus. He can comfort Shouto later.

WAIT WAIT REVEAL? YES, WRITE IT

Shouto POV: Izuku smacks his hand away and Shouto storms out of bar. Standing outside leaning against fire escape

 small anxiety attack. Dabi appears "starting to regret saying yes to the boss man?" Shouto snaps back "why would you care? Thought you weren't speaking to me." "Never said that. As I recall, you were the one who stormed out of the training session." He has nothing to say to that. Dabi retrieves a cigarette, lights it w his finger. Takes a long drag. Quiet. Dabi offers it to him (you smoke? Shrug. Sometimes). shouto decides fuck it and takes it. Awful. Why would you smoke those? Heavy pause. Shouto figures they're done talking when several minutes pass, surprised when Dabi answers. He sounds lost in thought. I dunno. Started because it pissed the old man off. Roughed me up pretty bad for It, but I kept smoking out of spite. Shouto listens intently, his chest tight. Dabi continues. The drinking came later. Helps to forget, ya know? Your old man? Shouto asks, a thousand questions burning on his tongue but that's the one that comes out. Moonlight catches Dabi's face and melts the color of his scars into the creamy white of his skin. Yea. Endeavor. Time stops. Shouto unable to speak. Dabi speaks for him. I'm sorry for not telling you. I'm sorry I'm shitty brother, for leaving you, fuyumi and natsuo with that man -- Shouto interrupts and nearly hits himself for it. Natsuo moved out two years ago. No shit? Good for him. I didnt tell you because...of all this. Gestures vaguely. I didnt want to give you another reason to be a part of this shitty league. I took it upon myself to kill the bastard and all the demons that came with it. You were never supposed to get roped into this. But Midoriya, that fuck, fucked it all up. Not to mention how close the two of you have gotten, as much as the little shit wants to deny it. Something going on between the two of you? Question out of left field, shouto sputters. Dabi holds up a hand. Dont-- dont bother. That was answer enough. Dabi pushed off railing. Look, I cant tell you how to live your life, and your in too deep anyways. I dont care if you hate me or whatever. But. As much as I hate t admit it, Midoriya was right; you deserved to know. Goes to leave, calls back as he does so: he denies it, but Midoriya is definitely brain washed, one way or another. Thinks he owes Tomura and the boss man his life. It's some powerful shit, whatever they did to him. What he did just now? No doubt it has something to d with that. Be careful, shouto. Dont trust a single damn one of those bastards downstairs. And he's gone, leaving Shouto alone on the fire escape

Izuku POV: some time since Dabi and Shouto left, goes outside to check on them and Dabi is gone. Sees shouto on fire escape, wal crawls up to him to apologize. Shouto interrupta: dabi's my brother. Izuku freezes, stutters, shouto interrupts again: I understand why you didnt want to tell me. I'm not mad. Shouto sounds off. Izuku relieved but unsure. Should he still apologize? Congratulate? Shouto fills the awkward silence. If they knew about us, would they kill you? Izuku stunned. Shouto pushes on: I thought it was bc your Master didnt want you distracted, how Endeavor treats me, but it's something more than that, isnt it? The grounds, your training, your branding -- kanji itches, he slaps a hand over it -- you're just a tool to them, arent you? A well-made tool, and the mmoment you do something that suggests you're no longer useful...that's it for you, huh? Izuku's eyes go hard, falls heavily into his villain persona. So what? That's how it should be. Master gave me my life and I owe him perfection. The plan comes first. Period. I'm useful, or I'm Deku. Shouto silent, Izuku filled with bitter rage. What? Is that an issue, shouto? It's not like I didnt try to tell you. Not like I tried to stop this - gestures between the two of them - before it could get worse. But you wanted this, you kissed me first, what the hell was I supposed to -- anger sapped away when Shouto cups a hand to his cheek. Cold, soothing, washed away the sweltering haze of anger. Izuku shrinks back, tries to apologize. Shouto hushes him. Words are soft, expression fierce. No, that's not how it should be. Tonight was hard. I helped kill someone, I-- words catch. Deep breath. But I dont regret it. I dont regret joining you, and I dont regret us. I've made up my mind. Izuku reduced to nothing, looks up at the teen in front of him with undisguised awe. Couldnt look away if he tried. Heroes might have failed to save you. Society might have failed the both of us. But you saved me Izuku. Saved me when no one else could. We're gonna kill Endeavor, and en we're gonna kill All Might. And then, when our jobs are done, I'm going to save you .

Bakugo POV: working w a small time hero (find one, make one up whatever), first choice redacted their request along w most the list & he had to go w the last choice. Public response violent, infuriated & scared. Called for Bakugo's expulsion from UA and Aldera was closed indefinitely w days later. Luckily, bc he was staying on campus he was able to avoid the worst of reporters, but stormed on the way to internships. A hero who doesnt care about his new reputation (all press is good press, kid. Besides, I talked to your teacher when I was notified you accepted my offer. I know you regret what you did. You're here to learn how to be a better hero, right? I wanna help you prove that sicko's beliefs wrong)

Izuku POV

Meeting w master. Praise, good job, people more untrusting of the heroes now than ever. Felt good kill that man, considering the mishap w Bakugo. And todorki did a good job. Yakedo, yes? That quirk of his is quite versatile. Izuku unsure of how to react, Master picks up on it. If You have something to say, Izuku, I'd say it now. Izuku hesitant. Didnt they promise his freedom? He will be free, yes. W

Izuku and shouto plan to kill AfO, isnt going well. Izuku dosnt think he can physically hurt him, even if he could he doesnt think he can stop himself from protecting them. Its like a reflex. Shouto decides to leave Izuku out of the planning. One day shouto sees Izuku writing in notebooks, asks if he has a page for himself; realizes he doent shouto helps him write one up. Shouto asks if Izuku’s venom is potent after it leaves his body, weaknesses  to own venom (its good to know how others might take advantage, right? So you can work around them). Looks at Shouto critically; is he just being curious? Or plotting. No outright bad intentions, supposes he can answer. Yes, potent after, he actually isn’t sure. Internet search; yes, he is prone to his own venom.

somewhere make scene where shouto broaches subject of being nervous about the camp. purposefully steer her towards agreeing with him.

Final Practical + Vanguard Action Squad reveal. Izuku completely shuts down Muscular as an addition (we don't kill needlessly. including him is a dead kid waiting to happen. would you want to undermine the progress we've made with the public and risk the success of this whole thing? because that's what muscular will do. that's what he does; he kills without thinking). Naomasa is super sus now, figures he has a break w the summer camp to figure out his plans going forward. 

End Chapter with Shouto saying goodbye to Fuyumi. Scene where they're loading onto the bus, show how Shouto us anxious, them arriving and realizing the summer camp starts. No going back now. Flings himself over the cliff before pixie bob can. 

Chapter 42

mall. kirishimA convinces katsuki to go, izuku sees them and contemplates breaking rank to kill him. it would be so easy. sees him and kirishima interact and comes to senses, but still angry. why do they like him? why do good things keep happening to him? why, why-- kirishima has caught him following them, nervous and recognizes him from sports festival. asks if he has an issue w katsuki, not manly.  Izuku answers honestly, why does he get so many chances?? Izuku finally finds happiness and its ripped away, but bakugo keeps bouncing back. kirishima answers him in his kirishima fashion; izuku vaguelu placated. rough end to conversation, pov switch to kirishima. hes freaking the fuck out, bc he finally realizes why guy looked so familiar. beyond relieved he talked him into leaving. rounds up friends and tells them what happened,(?) or he doesnt but tells aizawa. they change location of camp, its cool tho cuz kenji catches it. new locations works just as fine.

First 2 days go by. night of second day, test of courage. Yaoyorozu and Shouto together when Mustard attacks, Shouto insists she put trackers on both of them just in case. Shit happens, Bakugo and Izuku meet. Bakugo freezes at some shit Izuku pulls and Shouto and Shinsou get "kidnapped". Bakugo a wreck.

Shinsou wake up tied to a chair in a dingy bar with his mouth gagged. surrounded by villains. where is Todoroki? already dead? separated? they remove the gag after warning him. Reveal Todoroki. "So your big reveal is that you're not a daddy's boy, but a villain? wow, big step up." "Yes, I think so too."

"My part of the mission was accomplished. Yaoyorozu has her tracker on me now."

Chapter 43

Izuku last meeting w Master before the heroes arrive. Gives him instructions on how to deal with Shouto. kill him once Endeavor is dead, then move immediately to my location. I promised you revenge, yes?

Fuyumi in shambles. Blindly goes to police station to retrieve Shouto's things. Endeavor has been gone every since Shouto kidnapped. Goes through his things in a fugue state. on a whim opens photos for comfort, surprised he only has one video. Listens in mounting horror. She needs to call her father -- no, the police. they'll handle it with a cool head. shouto must be brainwashed or something -- the alert pops up and the stream forced through.

Todosquad, Bakugou and Kiri get together to rescue Shouto and Shinsou. They get disguises, head off to warehouse. all get alerts on their phones at the same time; tune into Endeavor Reveal.

Naomasa on scene w police and All Might none of them see the footage roll; they're already in motion. Toshi on site of location where Shinsou should be, them at Todoroki. Endeavor w the rest of the squadron. they initiate the operation at the same time an explosion goes off where the nomu are. 

Cut to Endeavor. Shouto tied up, apparently unconcious. he goes to put himself between Shouto and Dabi, feels stab, paralyzed. Shouto stands; he's wearing yakedo mask. removes it. surprise surprise. have that go down. endeavor dead, Izuku shows uo unexpectedly. "i thought you were supposed to be with your Master?" shaken but grateful for his presence. goes in for a hug. izuku stiffens. whispers "paralyze me, shouto. now. please." shouto confused, nervous laugh "what craziness are you saying now?" " please shouto." grip on the hug tightens. feels claws on the nape of his neck. Realization hits. Dabi attacks Izuku, Izuku leaps away. so much sadness. Izuku dissappears in a strange warping quirk. Shouto insists they go after him "he's dead when All for One realizes he failed!" "That fucker tried to kill you! Izuku POV. Afo & him v All Might. All Might doesnt want to fight w Midoriya. ultimately dies. AfO turns on Izuku when he realizes Shouto is still alive. takes his quirk, about to kill him, Dabi's fire hits him, Shouto runs up and tags him w dose. Rips off life support and freezes him to the floor. Quickly losing consiousness. managed "run, shouto". passes out.

Shouto POV. Shakes Izuku, tries to wake him up. thinks he's dead, stab wounds from AfO's quirk. Dabi forces them apart, drags shouto away. the heroes are coming. screams as Dabi runs, something hits the back of his head, he's out cold.

Chapter 44

Holding scene. Izuku talks to Bakugo, Izuku talks to Mom. Izuku talks to Detective. he is largely despondant and bitter. he's quirkless. he failed.

locked away in Tartarus for life. Warden smug about it. Leaves him in a cell strapped to a chair. welcome to your new life.

Guards come in to feed him. one snaps the other's neck, revealed to be Toga in disguise. "we gotta work fast, zukun, it's only a matter of time before the realize the securt personel are dead." take guards' suit and helmet, they walk out thriugh tartarus' front doors. Izuku in almost a trance. when they get to the armored car, Shouto is there. happy times. shouto wearing makeup and contacts, hair dyed black. Dabi also there, gruff but also happy. "Prison break part 2, idiot."

they're over the bridge and into civilian clothes when Tartarus goes into lockdown.

the bad guy was down. Ambush was captured, Shinsou in their arms, but....The number one hero was down, the number two dead and gone. Todorki was a villain and the whole world knew. this wasn't a victory. It certainly didn't feel like one.
