Yachi is working on her computer when the tall figure of Kuroo appears in the kitchen, almost giving her a heart attack.
His eyes are narrow than normal, bags are under his eyes, his body is hunched, and his hair is messier than normal. If it wasn’t for the scare, Yachi will have thought that he was a zombie.
“Are you okay?”, she asks, with worry in her eyes and her tone. She is quite used to him overworking himself and looking tired after a work trip abroad, but she has never seen him this tired before.
“No”, he answers. Is simply and not sarcastic like she expected him to do. He scratches the back of his head and then puts a foot ahead of him and a hand in his hip, making his skin expose a little. “When are you going to end up here?”
“Ah, I’m doing some stuff to end early tomorrow”, she answers, looking at her computer for a second. “Why? Do you need something?”
“Actually yes”, Yachi looks at him with waiting eyes, like she is available to do whatever he needs. That makes him smirk because he will ever smirk even if he is dying. “I need you”.
For some reason that Yachi doesn’t understand at all, she blushes when those words reach her ears. Is not the first time he tells him that and she is way used to his flirting and very honest behavior, so she feels like a schoolgirl all over again when she realizes that her face is hotter than normal.
She opens her mouth to talk, but he beats her to it.
“You know I can’t sleep without you”, he confesses and that quite surprises her.
“If you can’t sleep without me, how you slept while you were abroad?”, is a fair question since today he arrived after being in South Korea representing JVA. He spent a couple of days there and, it is a fact that he called her every day and told her that he missed her, but she didn’t expect him to miss her that much.
“These bags are the answer”, he points to his eyes and for some reason, Yachi feels both flattered and blushes even more again.
“You’re such an idiot”, he smirks.
“You love me either way”, he is right, of course, because she didn’t love him, she wouldn’t be married to him in the first place. “And I love how you look all flushed”, he giggles and that makes Yachi embarrassed and annoyed.
“I shouldn’t even help you”, she says, standing up and starting to get her things.
“You’re not that evil”, she stops and looks at him.
“Is that a dare?”
“Wow, the kitten is getting her claws out”.
She gives him a glare that makes him laugh like a hyena again and when he ends being dramatic, he helps her to get her things and they walk to their room together.
She puts her things away, Kuroo throws himself in the bed like always and Yachi doesn’t do it until everything is in its place.
“I missed you so much”, he whispers once he has her in his arms.
“I missed you too”, she says kissing him in his black messy hair.
He sighs relaxed and happy and then he falls asleep breathing her scent.
