Work Text:
The skies in Monstadt are bright and blue and the sun smiles down on the people below. Amber relishes in the gentle breeze that washes over her, wicking away the small beads of sweat that gather among the hairs at the base of her neck. It isn’t particularly hot out, but the stirrings of nervousness that spark across all of her nerves cause her ears to redden, her palms to sweat. All around her, people meander and wander, going about their daily business without a care in the world.
This is Monstadt. This is the city of freedom. This is Amber’s home.
Amber beams at the person sitting across the table from her.
Lumine.
She’s busy digging into the sticky honey roast before her with some semblance of restraint, politely cutting into it with a knife and fork instead of using her hands as usual. Amber finds this absolutely adorable. Well, she finds Lumine absolutely adorable in general.
It isn’t difficult to fall for this stranger who wandered into Monstand, into Amber’s home, and into Amber’s heart. Lumine is just so bright and kind and genuine and in a city full of people, she’s unlike anyone that Amber has ever met.
“You’re staring, Amber.”
Amber breaks into a wider smile. “We’re on a date! I think I’m allowed to stare at my date, aren’t I?”
Lumine blushes, a pretty pink blossoming across her cheeks. “We’ve been on many dates already, Amber.”
It took forever for Amber to finally to get up the courage to even ask out Lumine. Days of adventuring through Monstandt together, little touches that lingered too long, long looks that they hoped the other wouldn’t notice, meals taken settled next to each other, knees knocking into the other’s as they sat close, nights of gliding past brightly lit windows within the city and maybe nearly getting their gliding license revoked more than once.
The fact that Lumine even picked her, said yes to her, seems to be a miracle.
Whatever miracle this is, Amber is thankful for it.
“Do you want to take a walk with me?” Amber asks as the two of them finally finish their food. Meals tend to take longer now when its just the two of them eating together, but maybe it was the fact that they kept looking at each other, stunned that they were even on a date and forgetting to eat.
“Of course!” Lumine hops to her feet, looking at Amber expectantly to lead the way.
They wander through the streets of Monstadt, enjoying the brief respite from all the duties that would inevitably call them off to do one thing or another. Their steps fall into line with each other’s, an easy pace just side by side. Amber aches to reach out and take Lumine’s hand, just a mere brush of a fingertip away, the back of their hands occasionally knocking into each other.
Her hand is so close, but that tiny distance feels so far apart, like a chasm has opened between them and Amber cannot possibly bridge such an impossible — Lumine reaches out and grabs her hand.
It seems effortless, the way that Lumine so easily intertwines their fingers together without a care in the world. That beautiful easy going smile on her face as she turns to face Amber, holding up their hands so that Amber can see that she’s doing this on purpose.
“We’re on a date!” She echoes Amber’s earlier words, “I think you’re allowed to hold my hand on a date, aren’t you?”
It’s Amber’s turn to blush, suddenly shy in the face of Lumine’s newfound confidence. “O-of course!”
No matter how many times Lumine holds her hand, it never fails to make Amber’s heart beat quicken.
“Oh look! Flora has a bunch of small lampgrass out in front of her shop! You love lampgrass!” Lumine is off, pointing out all the different wonders and sights there are to see, taking Amber along with her.
Amber lets Lumine take her from one wonder to the next. Life is so much more interesting with Lumine present. She doesn’t remember the last time that having someone around feels so right— it’s been so long since her grandfather passed away, the idea— the potential of finding family again feels so strange.
Family.
Home.
Love.
The more that Amber considers it, the more she sees it. She finds it in the tiny cracks in her heart that Lumine has wiggled herself into until her heart and soul sings in time with the rhythm of Lumine’s own heartbeat, the phrasing of Lumine’s breath, and the very melody that her presence brings. Amber has never thought that Lumine would ever want someone like her, would desire something like this.
For so long she had let this desire sit in her chest, pushing it down until it burst through the seams in her heart, flooding her nerves and festering in the deepest reaches of her soul.
Lumine is here.
Lumine is with her.
Maybe this could be her happily—
A loud explosion rocks the air, sending bits of stone and wood flying as a large plume of smoke and fire towers over the tallest windmill in Monstadt.
That isn’t good. It doesn't matter though, Amber would defend Monstadt, her home.
Monstadt is in chaos. People run wildly through the streets with buckets of water, trying to douse the rapidly spreading flames. The Knights of Favonius are stretched thin, trying to corral people to safety and keep the sudden surge of forces from the Abyss from advancing further into the city.
Lumine doesn’t know how all of these different Abyss creatures reached Monstadt without anyone knowing beforehand, but they are wreaking havoc on the city. She cuts down another hydro Abyss mage with a flourish, sending it flying to the side. Festering Desire practically is alight with a frenzied purple energy.
While she isn’t particularly fond of the menacing looking blade, every little bit of power that she could get right now is very welcome— especially when it seemed that there is no end to these Abyss forces.
The blade almost feels alive in her hands, tugging her forwards into the next fight, looking for the next unfortunate soul to devour. It sings through the air, joyous, feeling almost effortless with the way that it slices so cleaning through anything in front of Lumine, leaving behind a trail of fallen foes in her wake.
She has lost track of Amber in the chaos, although the Outrider is more than capable of handling herself in situations like this.
“Lumine! Watch out!”
Lumine turns at the sound of Amber’s voice, spotting the Outrider not that far from her just as another explosion goes off to her right. The force of the blast throws both Lumine and Amber off of their feet, sending them flying across the street and slamming into buildings that have definitely seen better days.
Everything hurts, Lumine winces at the feeling of pieces of the wall that she went through digging into her ribs. That explosion really caught her off guard. It takes her a second to reorient herself, her ears ringing violently in protest as she struggles to get back to her feet. The tell-tale heavy footsteps of a Mitochurl approaching tells her that she needs to get ready— she needs to find her weapon.
She had dropped Festering Desire in the face of the explosion— its gleaming purple eye glares back at her as if offended that Lumine had lost her grip on the weapon. The blasted thing is too far though, there’s no way that Lumine will be able to reach it in time.
It’s too late, the hulking form of the Mitochurl rounds the corner, axe over one shoulder. Lumine throws her hands up reflexively, readying a blast of anemo energy but a blur of red throws herself in front of Lumine.
“Don’t worry, Lumine! I’ll protect you!”
Amber is clearly not wielding a weapon, her entire left sleeve torn and the arm underneath scratched up. Despite the blood that runs down her arm, Amber shoots Lumine a bright smile, unworried.
Lumine sees it happen in slow motion. There is no other weapon in sight, the only one available is—
“Amber, no! Don’t touch the sword!”
She’s too late.
Amber brings Festering Desire up in a flourish that would impress the most experienced of sword users and there’s a bright flash of red energy, white hot like a fire, that’s quickly swallowed up by an angry lash of purple.
Lumine recognizes the purple that envelopes Amber’s form. It’s the same energy that had breathed rage into a dormant regisvine. Festering Desire practically cackles with glee, corrupted energy snapping and crackling over Amber’s entire body.
What Lumine doesn’t recognize is the look in Amber’s eyes after she cuts down the Mitochurl with one fell swoop. The smirk that Amber shoots Lumine over her shoulder as she twirls Festering Desire around is chilling. Her bright and sunny smile twists into this terrifying smirk, teeth too long, too sharp.
All the soft curves and lean muscle that Lumine has come to associate with Amber is now jagged and mean . Her eyes are dark, purple fire consumes all traces of the golden sunshine.
Everything is wrong, wrong, wrong.
“Finally,” Amber says— no this isn’t Amber, Lumine can’t find any traces of the Amber that she knows here, the Amber that she loves.
Her voice grates harshly on Lumine’s ears, raspy like it hasn’t been used in many years. She licks her lips and rolls her shoulders like she’s stretching out stiff muscles. Another wave of Hilichurls and Mitochurls appear at the end of the street and Amber is gone, leaving a trail of dark energy behind her.
Festering Desire makes short work of the approaching enemies, delighting in the slaughter as Amber’s form moves through a deadly dance. It’s a strange image, to see Amber fighting up close and personal. It’s wrong is what it is.
Her dance culminates in a downward slash, sending several blasts of dark fire through the remaining enemies and completely destroying the building behind them. A satisfied flare of dark energy takes out another building nearby. The startled cries of fear from people who were hiding inside the building snaps Lumine out of her daze.
Lumine lurches to her feet, ignoring the wounds and bruises she’s sure to find after the battle is over. She has to separate Amber from the sword before things went too far. Amber would never be able to forgive herself if she hurt anyone.
It’s a game of cat and mouse as Festering Desire leads Lumine down a side street, tearing up the paved cobblestones beneath Amber’s feet. Instinctively, Lumine ducks as a dark tendril of energy lobs a chunk of destroyed wall at her head with more force than she thought possible for Festering Desire. This whole thing makes Lumine feel like she’s the mouse chasing the cat, certain to meet an untimely end.
She has to stop Festering Desire. It doesn’t care who it hurts, what it destroys— Abyss forces and the city itself falling, easy prey for a hunter who only thirsts for pain and destruction.
Fortunately, some of the Knights of Favonius are quick to follow the trail of destruction that Festering Desire leaves behind. Amber dodges to the side in an unsettling manner, almost like someone had grabbed her by the spine and pulled her out of the way as Jean’s blast of wind misses her by mere centimeters.
Kaeya’s shards of ice fairs no better as he follows up the assault, but to everyone’s surprise, Amber leaps forwards, underneath the ice and into Kaeya’s space. Aquila Favonius knocks the outstretched blade out of the way, sending both the sword and Amber flying to the side. Fury enshrouds Amber, rolling off of her in waves.
Lumine can tell this isn’t going to be pretty, given Festering Desire’s previous display of power with the building. Perhaps she could deflect the brunt of the blast with her palm vortex, if she could get Jean to help her…
There isn’t any time to decide though and all she can do is throw herself in front of Jean and Kaeya. She can see the brief flicker of gold, of hesitation. Lumine braces herself for a blast that never comes.
There’s no pain, no blood, no fire.
Muscles tense to the point of snapping, Lumine cautiously peers around her outstretched hands.
There’s a strange silence in the air. A dome of wind, green like sea glass, contains the raging fire like a terrible, nightmarish snowglobe. The crackling and snapping of the energy is muted and hollow sounding behind the dome. Even Festering Desire itself bounces off harmlessly like it's nothing more than a child’s toy.
Venti lets out an exaggerated sigh of relief. A particularly forceful impact of dark fire against the side of the dome does make him flinch a little bit though.
Against her better judgement, Lumine takes a few steps forwards towards the dome. Festering Desire quiets, flattening itself against the back of Amber’s head like a cornered animal.
“Lumine?”
Amber’s voice makes her do a double take, it’s soft again, a whimper. The purple recedes, exposing the gold buried in her eyes. She looks pathetic, curled up on the torn up ground with her knees and arms scraped up.
“Lumine, please.” Amber reaches out with a bloodied hand, “Help me, Lumine. Let me out.”
Her body moves before Lumine can truly understand it, automatically responding to Amber’s plea for help. Every fibre in her being screams to reach out for Amber but Venti’s hand comes down like a vice grip on her shoulder like he knows what she’s going through right now.
“That’s not her, Lumine.” Venti’s warning is low, voice as serious as Lumine has ever heard it.
The minute that he says that though, Festering Desire is back in full force, twisting Amber’s gentle features into a harsh snarl that sends Lumine reeling backwards.
“Let’s get you treated. I think my wind wall will hold her.” Venti’s grip is firm as he turns her around, breaking Lumine’s gaze.
Lumine forces herself not to look back at the raging and feral form of whatever Festering Desire has twisted Amber into— her beautiful ray of sunshine now just a hungering void that threatens to consume everything that she has ever loved.
The wind wall might hold her for now, Lumine worries, but will there be anything of Amber left for Lumine to hold at the end of it all?
She’s too afraid to answer that question.
“No, no, no, no. That won’t work. Festering Desire isn’t going to willingly allow its host to just ingest anything we give.”
They had all gathered back at the Knights of Favonius headquarters, in Jean’s office. Most of the building had been turned into a triage center for wounded Knights and civilians alike. There was a strange sense of celebration in the air, a false sense of victory emanating from the civilians who truly thought that the calamity was over.
The Knights were very efficient at keeping everyone clear of the area where Venti was still holding Festering Desire captive. Only the inside of Jean’s office, where the senior members of the Knights and Albedo’s assistants were deep in discussion about what to do with their current predicament.
“But doesn’t she have to eat at some point?” Kaeya points out with a wince, cradling his ribs gingerly.
None of the Knights of Favonius left that battle unscathed, minor injuries all around but they have all had better days.
“Festering Desire will fuel its host with its own energy. There is no need for food when you have energy in the purest form.” Albedo rebuttals without even turning away from the large chalkboard that had been set up in the middle of the room.
“Her name is Amber!” Lumine, who had been similarly bandaged up and been sitting silently in the corner of the room burst out suddenly.
Everyone pauses to look at her in surprise.
“Stop calling her the host. She has a name.” Lumine growls, glaring at Albedo.
Sucrose shrinks back around the side of the board with a small eep. To his credit, Albedo meets Lumine’s glare head on without missing a stride.
“Of course, I apologize.”
They had been at this for hours. With Venti keeping a careful watch over his dome, everyone else was busy racking their brains for some kind of solution.
Lumine isn’t the most knowledgeable about alchemy but even she sees that they are running out of options, and time. Every idea that one person comes up with is shot down by another, the chalkboard is littered with crossed out solutions and scribbled out thoughts. There’s obviously one other idea, space left for it on the board but nobody wants to touch it.
They are not going to kill Amber.
That is out of the question.
“I think our only option is to exhaust Festering Desire. If it doesn’t have any energy left, it will release its grip on Amber otherwise it leaves itself too exposed, which gives us the opportunity to separate the two of them.” Albedo finally says.
“But how are we going to exhaust it? It’s not like we are capable of draining its energy.”Jean furrows her brow in concentration.
“We evacuate the city.” Lumine cuts in.
Everyone looks at her again.
“We get all of the civilians to safety. And then we can have the Knights lead Festering Desire on a wild goose chase until it’s spent all of its energy.” Lumine continues breathlessly.
“We’ll have to take shifts,” Lisa nods slowly, “Or we’ll risk tiring ourselves out before Festering Desire.”
“But how do we ensure that it will chase after us once we’ve evacuated everyone? Wouldn’t it be easier for it to try to go after other things?” Diluc grumbles from his spot by the door where he had just been watching the whole meeting with steely eyes.
Lumine bits her lip worriedly, that is definitely a big concern that she isn’t quite sure how to handle.
“Sucrose and I will set up some barriers around the city to try to deter Festering Desire from leaving.” Albedo moves to head out but Jean interrupts him.
“And there’s no other way to do this?”
“Not that we have the time to investigate right now. Venti has contained Festering Desire for now but it’s too risky to try to let it hold on to Amber any longer than we need to.” Albedo motions for Sucrose to gather her things.
“I’ll get the Knights to start evacuating the citizens.” Jean relents. “Let’s move out.”
Lumine also hops up to her feet, albeit slightly unsteadily. “I’ll help!”
Jean opens her mouth, about to argue with Lumine but her jaw snaps closed with an audible click upon seeing the fiery determination burning in Lumine’s eyes. Instead she nods resolutely.
“Be careful.”
Evacuating the citizens is a lot harder than Lumine thinks it should be. A lot of the people are unwilling to move, busy picking through the wreckage for their belongings, not believing that there could be any sort of danger.
The Knights just fought off the Abyss, sending them home with their tails between their legs, there was no way that the Abyss would come back now.
Lumine wants to yell and scream that there were other threats out there aside from the Abyss— not to mention the terrible darkness lurking raging within the city’s own walls. But she smiles all the same and insistently tells them that they have to evacuate. Perhaps she blew down a few walls that were threatening to topple over with a discreet Palm Vortex to encourage the unruly citizens to stop picking through the debris, but nobody could prove that it was her. They have to leave the city so that she can save Amber.
She has to save Amber.
She’s about finished clearing out the area that she’s been assigned too when a violent explosion somewhere near the center of the city sends more unstable structures scattering to the ground.
A dark crackling fills the air in an inferno of red and purple.
No.
No, no, no.
Lumine is running in that direction immediately.
The city isn’t cleared yet. They weren’t ready for this. There would be mass civilian casualties if Festering Desire gets loose now. It’s like the other Knights of Favonius have come to the same conclusion and Lumine runs into Jean and Albedo also running in that direction.
They come skidding to a halt in the center of the destruction. Venti is picking himself up out of the remains of a fountain, dazed and bleeding profusely. Jean is immediately at his side, healing the nasty cut that is pouring blood into his eyes. Lumine only has eyes for the figure cloaked in corrupted power in the center of the street though.
Amber steps over the circle the windwall has cut into the cobblestone with languid ease, a look of absolute disdain on her face like she has just squashed a bug under her foot. Festering Desire blazes brightly at her side, eager for another taste of blood.
“We have to contain her here while the other Knights evacuate the rest of the citizens.” Albedo is at Lumine’s side, eyes hard as he watches Amber stretch. All of her joints crack in a series of grotesque pops that make Lumine flinch.
Lumine nods grimly. Amber would never forgive herself if she hurt anyone. They have to make sure that it would never come to that.
Without another word, Albedo leaps forwards, geo energy crystallizing around him in the form of a giant flower, splitting the wave of dark energy that shoots out from Festering Desire so that it dissipates to the side harmlessly. Lumine follows him down the path that he has cleared, dodging out of the way as Festering Desire sings out toward her.
It’s one thing to watch Festering Desire pull Amber from one stance to the next but it’s another thing entirely to be on the receiving end of it. None of Lumine’s training could prepare her for the strange movements and unnatural contortions that Amber’s form folds itself into. She barely brings her Favonius sword up in time to parry the sudden slash that comes from the other side.
While Amber is not a swordsman by training, Festering Desire has the advantage in that none of her opponents actually wish to hurt Amber, only to tire her out. Even with Jean in the fray, there’s nothing that they can do aside from remain on the defensive, keeping her from escaping further into the city.
A few well placed blasts of wind and feeble support from Venti knocks Amber back enough to give them a few seconds of breathing room. This was a losing fight and they all knew it. Reinforcements would be on the way but how long could any of them keep this up? Everyone is tired, everyone is nearly at their limit.
Even so, they soldier on, deflecting a blast of rage from Festering Desire’s seemingly limitless pool of energy. Lumine really regrets fighting so many creatures with that stupid blade now. The addition of Kaeya, Diluc, and Lisa to the scene only seems to anger the blade and it strikes back with a vengeance, swinging with heavy arcs of energy that surely aim to kill.
Surrounded by so many opponents, Lumine thinks that they finally might have the advantage. Diluc heads off Festering Desire’s escape with a fiery phoenix, sending Amber reeling backwards and then directly into a back handspring to avoid Lisa’s arc of lightning.
It’s a foolish thought. Festering Desire is clearly toying with them. Lumine realizes it too late when she notices how close they all have gotten to Amber, even Lisa and Venti have been drawn into Festering Desire’s ploy. The angry explosion of energy knocks them all backwards. Lumine only feels the red hot rage of energy in front of her and then the hard stone of buildings behind her.
There’s a moment of silence as the dust clears and Lumine feels lucky that she can even open her eyes after an attack like that. Coughing, she sits up, debris falling off of her. The other Knights of Favonius don’t appear to be as lucky. She can see limbs and weapons sticking out at odd angles in the wreckage. Nobody else is moving.
The crunch of boots on pebbles catches Lumine’s attention, her head whips over to where Amber is smugly stalking towards her like a predator who had finally cornered their prey.
“Such a waste of power.” Amber sighs, voice taking on a rough growl. “But the world is-” Amber licks her lips, “- full of delicious things.”
Lumine struggles to her feet. She has to keep Festering Desire here. The destruction that it would cause if it got out not to mention that it was still in Amber’s body— Lumine can’t bear to think about that.
“Let go of Amber.”
Thankfully, her sword has fallen next to her feet and she scoops it up, readying herself as Amber steps ever closer.
Amber smiles, devoid of all warmth that Lumine knows. “And waste such a perfect opportunity? You were so… boring. So controlling. ”
Lumine flinches. Even though she knows that it isn’t actually Amber saying these things, the words still hurt.
Festering Desire relishes in Lumine’s hurt, prodding further. “Don’t you know that I know what she’s thinking? Amber is flighty, moving from one thing to the next. You may have held her attention now but it wouldn’t be long until she would be bored of you. There’s so many things to see out there. Why be tied down to you?”
She tightens her grip on the sword. Amber is practically within reach now.
Suddenly, Amber’s form stiffens, shaking as she curls in on herself. “Lu...mine…”
Lumine’s eyes widened in shock. “Amber?”
“Don’t...listen to it…”
“What are you doing? Get back!” Festering Desire snaps.
Amber’s head twists to the side in jerky movements.
“You… have to… end this….” There’s a glimmer of gold in Amber’s eyes, barely visible against the ragine purple.
“Amber, no!” Hot tears are streaming down Lumine’s face. The sword in her hand trembles with how hard she’s clutching it, metal digging into her skin.
“You would kill your lover with your own two hands, Lumine?” Festering Desire taunts, clearly finding no foothold in pushing back Amber’s spirit.
“Please… save Monstadt… Lumine.” Amber begs, voice barely over a whisper.
“But what about you? What if I want to save you?”
“Monstadt…” Amber repeats brokenly, “...my home.”
Festering Desire lets out a scream of rage, summoning forth a blast of energy that Lumine barely dodges when she throws herself to the side. “I will make you kill her with your own two hands. I will break your spirit like the worthless garbage that it is.”
“Lumine… please.”
Lumine rolls to her feet, staring at Amber. Save Monstadt and save Amber’s home or save Amber, Lumine’s home.
She locks onto Amber’s eyes and nods slowly. Her heart breaks. It was never much of a choice anyway.
She dodges into the next blast of energy, capitalizing on the brief moment of hesitation as Amber fights back against Festering Desire on the inside. There’s no triumphant music, no grand moment. Just the sound of steel slicing cleaning into Amber’s chest, the sword making itself home in Amber’s heart.
Amber lets out a choked gasp splattered with blood as she falls limply into Lumine’s arms. Festering Desire bleeds out of Amber like the blood pouring from her chest as the blade clatters to the ground.
“Amber? Honey, please you have to stay with me. I’m going to get you help.” Lumine tries frantically to hoist Amber into her arms. It’s a futile effort, her grip is slick with blood, Amber’s blood.
“Thank you… Lumine.” Amber lips curve up into a gentle smile, “... Love you.”
“No no no nonononono.” Lumine pulls Amber close, cradling her broken form against her chest. “Amber, no! Don’t leave me behind!”
Amber is gone, perhaps to make her home elsewhere in the heavens.
Lumine is left by herself in the middle of a broken Monstadt, Amber’s home that she saved, without a home of her own.
Grief simmers under her skin, festering in the far reaches of her heart. Lumine has long forgotten what it's like to exist without such a feeling, a feeling that wraps tendrils that sap all strength from her form. Amber is gone and all that is left is the void, the emptiness that has made her soul it's home.
Something calls to her, beckoning her across the room and to the tightly locked chest bound with chains and seals. With stiff movements, Lumine unlocks the chest, letting chains clink and paper seals flutter uselessly to the ground.
Bright red greets her. Her heart twists painfully, pounding with enough force that it might really break free of her rib cage. All she sees is red. The colour that once promised so much and now the sight of it threatens to sweep her away entirely.
Festering Desire sits innocently inside the chest, the jewel-like eye in the hilt watching her carefully.
Even after everything that happened, Lumine can't bring herself to throw away the cursed weapon. Call it foolish, or call it sentimental, Lumine has kept everything that has anything to do with Amber. From a half finished Baron Bunny to the weapon that led to Amber's demise, Lumine has kept it all.
Perhaps it's masochistic to keep such a reminder around. She knows it's her fault. It's her fault for wielding it. Her fault for letting its power call to her. Her fault that Amber is gone. Her fault that she had to kill Amber.
Her fault.
The eye seems to sense the guilt rolling off of her, twisting itself into a smirk. Lumine knows it's not possible but she sees the dark glint of Amber's eyes from when she held Festering Desire- the blade's corrupted energy twisting her lips into that same smirk.
Lumine sighs, tearing her eyes away from the visage of Amber that she sees but knows doesn't exist. She's tired of Monstadt.
She's tired of protecting a city that she can no longer bring herself to love. No matter where she goes, she always returns. Her body aches to wander even further even as her heart calls this grave a home.
A fitting price to pay perhaps, to be chained to this beautiful tomb with its lofty windmills and even loftier ideals.
A slight movement in the chest makes her look down again. The eye in the sword winks at her, that golden honey colour Lumine knows is Amber flashing briefly over the red. The red of Amber's hair bow, the red of her blood running over Lumine's hands- Lumine blinks and there it is in the eye again.
"Amber?" She says out loud, more a brokenhearted prayer than a question.
Festering Desire smiles, the red fading into molten amber again.
Take my hand, Lumine. Make your heart my home.
