Chapter Text
Running.
That's what she could remember.
Running, as fast as she could, away from her friends, family, and society in general.
The beads of sweat forming on her face.
How heavily she was breathing.
How her magic had depleted.
She stumbled, too engrossed in her thoughts, tripping over a rock and falling to the forest floor.
"Great..."
The dirt and gravel on the ground stuck to her like a binding spell, if a binding spell was cast with sweat.
She scrambled to her feet, resting her back against a twisted willow-like tree. It was blooming, and the light pink petals on it were scattered across the forest. It was almost like they were glowing, lightly illuminating surrounding trees in the area.
A gust of wind blew through, making some fall and land on Amity.
She picked some up, twirling them.
It was like Grom Tree.
The sudden memory was too much at this point. She didn't need this, not right now. Not at this time.
She broke down, crying. Her tears rolled down her face, onto her once-clean turtleneck and the darkened ground. She clutched in her shaking hands the one thing she was able to take with her.
A scarf, made out of the same material a particular magical cloak was.
A final gift given to her by one she would soon vow to never see again.
