To Eternal Bliss

Summary:

MAJOR CHARA WHO DIES IS NEITHER OF THE BOYS!!

Just a little (non-sexual) action scene where the bad guy is bad and our boys are trying their best.

Notes:

Okay, so I was unsuspectingly spending my daily few hours with browsing youtube, and then the site decided it was time to drop a bombshell on me. Took me some time to have the scene play in front of my eyes, but this song lead me to this ficlet and it's title:

Tír na nÓg ft. Oonagh (Male Version) - Celtic Woman

I advise opening it when the music starts paying in the fic.

Enjoy! :)

Work Text:

The elven boy was leading him deeper into the forest, and he was happy to go with him. His eyes sparkled when he looked at him, and he felt his heart beating faster every time it happened.

Saifah has been waiting for this chance to leave the kingdom behind, even longer than he could remember. He would say his wish to run away awoke with Zon appearing on that sunny day, but he would be lying; he wanted to disappear from this cruel world ages ago.

He got distracted by the soft hand holding his, gently showing him the way to the entrance only those can pass that have the spirits' permission. The boy told him he had a free pass from the moment their eyes locked a few years back.

The young king was getting lost in his excitement and his love for the boy, ready to face the unknown world and leave all challenges and abuse behind, when he suddenly felt a strong presence around his chest and he had to stop, involuntarily letting go of his lover's hand. He didn't need to look back to see the horsemen and the dark wizard getting catching up with them; getting close enough that his powers can control him again.Saifah felt a single teardrop forming in his eyes, as he was powerless against the strong magic that held him captive from the moment he was old enough to have his own thoughts and desires, stopping him to wander from the path his father's advisor chose for him. Sai was known as the kingdom's most reckless womanizer because of that, and only came to his senses when he was in his room alone. He was going mad from not living a life for almost two decades, when finally Zon saved him, waking him up with a single glance.

And now they are taking it away from him. He could feel his invisible shackles getting back into place, holding him stronger than ever. The old bastard probably found a way to strengthen his magic, to have more power over him than ever. Zon's worried glance was only enough to let him whisper his name, then he was pulled away from him. Sai imagined this was worse than death.

He lost all hope in a fraction of a second, and his heart was shattering, struggling with all his willpower to stay, to never need to let go of that loving hand again. It was no use.

Sai closed his eyes, not being able to see the pain in his lover's eyes.

He was certain all their plans were gone in the wind and never to be fulfilled. Dust was rising beneath his feat, as the dark magic pulled him away from a chance to live, to have the happiness he always longed for.

Hours seemed to have passed, all spent in sorrow of the known and the unknown part of the world he was willing to escape to. He was sobbing like a child in his soul, not being able to express it, already a puppet under power-hungry control.

That was when he heard the music.

It was nothing like he heard before, a language he didn't even recognise, but he could feel the magic in every sound, the supernatural intent behind every word sang. Maybe it was the desperation, or the upbeat song playing in the middle of nowhere, but he felt his restraints quiver. They didn't let loose, and they were still traveling at the same speed, but he felt a slight shake in the power. And then he recognised the voice, and the song spoke to him.

"Yes, Zon, I will go with you!" he wanted to scream, but his lips could not move. He collected all his willpower to help his lover break the curse, and as the single voice started chanting the magic words again, Saifah's voice broke free.

His angry scream got lost in the song, probably all nearby elves joining in on the mission to keep him from getting lost forever, and his tears started falling again. He was getting free, and he was ready to do what needed to be done; the one thing he was never capable of, not once when he had the chance.

As he stumbled to the ground, the fading magic still dragged him forward, but he eventually stopped, and he was on his knees, gasping for air, screaming for the skies again. He heard the hooves slowing down in the distance, and one single horseman coming back.

He collected himself to stand up, and his jaw dropped when he saw the army of magical beings storming out from the forest, all of them singing for him, the music seemingly coming from the ground and plants around them. They were on the clearing, not far from the gates of the city.

His lover looked at him with determination in his eyes, leading the weaponless soldiers. He nodded. He was out of excuses. He wanted to live.

As he turned around to face his enemy, the true leader of the kingdom, he saw the man throwing a dagger at him, that if it reached him, it would go through his chest, probably his heart. It showed the man's desperation that he was willing to kill him in front of all the guards who came with him, and the guards standing in the walls.

As Zon reached him and held his hand again, he felt like a true king, for the first time in his life. He felt all the power that comes with the title, and he knew he was the only one who could finish this.

Still holding Zon's hand, he stepped to the side. As he caught the weapon, he saw all the elves aggressively dancing around him, stirring up all the dust and even leaves and grass from the ground, channeling all their magic into every move and sound they made. It was time.

He raised the small knife, and with sure hands he threw it at the advisor, knowing it would lead to his heart with dozens of magical creatures guiding it where it needed to go.

Saifah suspected the magic that held him captive was not only holding him, since as the song got impossibly stronger, all the soldiers dropped their weapons, and as the evil being stumbled to the ground, they yelled in unison, screaming their pain to the sky. The sorrowful voices quickly turned into celebratory yells, as the wizard's heart stopped beating for good. They were finally free.

Zon looked up at him with tears flowing on his face, and as the dance finally started to fade, they left only one voice singing about love and a happy life together.

Saifah was ready. Now for real.

He smiled through his tears.
