Work Text:

You had never expected to fall so in love, yet still, you did. It wasn't abnormal to love, but to him, it was. To him, to be loved was something that seemed foreign. It seemed impossible; he had convinced himself he was unlovable. You came along, and it was like when the blizzard stops and becomes beautiful snow. The once dreaded and cold became exciting and fun. He was happy he got to explore love with you and made sure to remind you of that as often as possible. With his job as a "butler," he didn't always get the chance to be with you. Sometimes he wouldn't come home until it was late, arms immediately swinging over you. A kiss on the lips with a whispered, "Ich liebe dich, liebling." The way he spoke to you in different languages when he was tired made your heart do flips.

There would be a "Welcome back, Draco" and returned kiss from you as he sat down next to you, you two cuddling close like penguins.

There were times he'd beg to spoil you, and you'd have to insist for him not to. He wanted to give you the entire world because he saw you as his. Every time you commented on something you liked and without a beat, he would offer to buy it. Sometimes you'd let him because sometimes it's okay to indulge a bit. Showing him how it fits on you, and he would comeover hugging you and giving you as many kisses as stars in the sky.

Small moments when you helped him clean the mansion, as you two swayed together with no music; laughter filling the room as you danced without rhythm or a care in the world.

You loved the moment when you held onto your stomach laughing, as he spilled all of the sugar onto himself while baking. Kissing his cheek only to have your face twist due to how sickeningly sweet it was. It was his turn to laugh.

Moments when he would say something stupid while you two were falling asleep, earning a pillow to the face. An "oomph" as you chuckled, him beginning to spoon you. He was very affectionate, and you loved every moment of it.

And sometimes, there were moments like now.

You two on a balcony, the wind just soft enough to be refreshing but not cold. A tea set with some treats as you two chatted the evening away.

"Let's not forget the time you spilled sugar all over yourself."

"Oh, it was one time, and I still don't think we got all of it! I still find sugar there!"

"Did we not get all of it, or is it because it's the kitchen?"

"I did not think about that."

"And now you did. We got all of it, I assure you."

"Better than when you hit me with a pillow last night."

"You made an awful pun. You deserved it."

"It's not my prob-plum that you can't handle jokes." He said, waving around grapes.

"Those are grapes, and you're an awful comedian. Get off the stage."

"Wow, I'm so hurt." He said sarcastically.

"Good." You two laughed, falling into a comfortable silence. The sun was beginning to set, making a nice mix of an orange and yellow glow. It was beautiful.

"Lieve?"

"Yes?"

"Might I ask you something?"

"What is it?"

He stood to kneel next to you. That's when you understood what was happening. Heart beating out of anxiety and excitement.

"You have made me happier than I could've ever believed I would be. You made me find worth in myself. You made me realize I was more than just a butler. You taught me how to love and how to be loved. So, what I'm asking is," he presented a ring, "Will you marry me?"

You didn't know how many times you said yes. He slipped the ring on as he swung you around happily, giant smile. Tears of joy ran down both of your cheeks as you kissed soft and gentle.

A million words left unsaid you two didn't know how to say and five times as many "I love you's."

You two loved each other, and no one could deny it.
From every moment from when you met to when you started dating. All of the moments after; all lead up to this.

There wasn't a single one you would forget.
