Chapter Text

After graduating from high school and getting accepted into a good university, Natsuki Subaru moved out from his parent’s house and bought a decent sized apartment. The decent apartment was on the fourth floor of his building. It had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, living room, and a nice balcony. The apartment wasn’t located too far from his parent’s home as it was only a few miles away. Subaru wanted to be able to visit them whenever he had the time, so he chose a place that was close to them. He would go to his university in the morning and then arrive home in the afternoon to stream. His life had been pretty normal so far, however, that would change on a fateful day.

It was a late Friday night and Subaru was walking to his local convenience store. He had a long stream today and was going to get a light snack. He entered the store and grabbed a corn potage chip bag and a Coca-Cola drink, then he took it to the counter. After paying for his items, he began to walk towards the door to leave. Looking down at his items as the automatic doors opened, he walked outside and accidentally bumped into someone. When he looked up he saw what he swore was an angel. Beautiful was the only word Subaru could use to describe the girl in front of him. She had silver-hair that went all the way down her back and amethyst eyes that Subaru was captured by. Her hair color was very unique, she was possibly a foreigner. She held a hand to her forehead where she had crashed into Subaru. 

“I-I'm so sorry, I should’ve been paying more attention. Are you alright?” Upon seeing the black-haired boy, the girl’s face turned a deep red and she looked away trying to hide her face. She knew who this person was and couldn’t be anymore excited and nervous than she was right now. “Y-Yes, I'm alright, but what about you? Are you okay?” The silver-haired girl quickly replied. Her voice sounded like a silver-bell, he was captured by it, he was absolutely enchanted by her voice. Subaru could only think about how good looking she was. Beautiful was an understatement to describe the girl. She had a cute face, beautiful hair and eyes, and an adorable voice. A light blush appeared on his face as he gazed upon the girl’s gorgeous face. Not one person, ever in his lifetime, has come close to the beauty of the girl in front of him.

“Yeah, I'm alright, I'm a pretty tough guy so you don't have to worry.” He said while flashing a bright smile. The girl’s blush deepened, she was so happy to be able to see her crush in person. Ever since she had learned about him, she could only dream about their fateful meeting.

“Oh, I should probably introduce myself.” He stuck his hip out to the side and pointed his finger to the sky. “My name is Natsuki Subaru! Also known as Pleiades. Nice to meet you.” He said while extending his hand. She giggled seeing him act so adorably. This was another one of the things that made her so easily fall for him. There wasn’t a single thing that wasn’t perfect about the boy in her eyes. She was just madly in love with him, no one could compare to him in her mind.

The girl knew his name very well, ‘Natsuki Subaru, AKA Pleiades.’ Ever since she stumbled upon his Twitch channel, she had watched him every day. Whether it was a live broadcast or just saved clips, she watched all of it. She was in love with the boy and she could only dream about actually meeting him. The girl stared at his outstretched hand for a few seconds before grabbing it and shaking it. When their hands touched, she could feel how soft and comforting they were, she wished she could hold onto it forever. That day would soon come, she knew it, she will do anything to achieve her dream!

“M-My name is Satella, just Satella, Nice to meet you Subaru!” She said shyly but with a big smile. Upon hearing his own name, Subaru blushed, when it came from her mouth it made him feel strange inside. Everything about the girl had captured his heart. She was absolutely stunning, not only her looks but her personality. The way she spoke shyly, but with enthusiasm was adorable to Subaru. He knew he would never meet anyone as beautiful and kind as Satella. After all, it wasn't every day you came across such an adorable girl like the one in front of him.

“I see… That's a nice name! A pretty name for a pretty girl.” Satella’s already red face was on a whole other level of red, she was close to passing out by how much she was bombarded with compliments. She was so happy; her Subaru was giving her so many compliments that it made her just want to jump on him. Good thing she is a master at self-restraint, after all, if she didn't have this ability, she might’ve done something to him right then and there. Only the gods know what might have occurred if she succumbed to her desires.

“T-Thank you, your name is pretty too, I really like it,” she managed to squeeze out. She was still trying to recover from his previous attack sent to her heart. Subaru was happy, his eyes softened as he smiled warmly at her. Satella could feel her heart coming close to jumping out of her chest. She loved looking into his eyes, they are usually mean and stern, but she loved that about them. She especially loved it when they would soften just as they are right now. She was so excited; she was able to stand in front of him and stare at his cute face. Oh, how she wished she could do this all her life. Waking up every morning just to stare at his sleeping face before he woke up. It was her dream, perhaps it is better to say it was her life goal. 

“Can I get your number? You’re really nice and I would like to talk more, but it's really late and I should probably get home.” He asked her kindly. Subaru was nervous, he had never asked and successfully gotten a girl’s number before. If he actually managed to score, it must be fate bringing them together. Subaru really hoped that that was the case, he was entranced by her beauty and wanted to get to know her better. 

“R-Really?!? Yes, I’ll gladly give it to you Subaru!” She was beaming in joy and excitement. Her crush had asked for her number, this must be a wedding proposal! Satella was so eager to have Subaru’s number, she would be able to talk to him whenever she wanted. They could even plan to hang out in the future, just the idea of this got her really excited! Satella really wanted to spend more time with her crush, but if he was tired then that would have to wait. 

After they traded numbers and Subaru was about to leave, he realized that it was already really late. Not wanting Satella to walk home alone in the dangerous streets. This would also be a good idea to try to stay with her for a bit longer. He turned around and called out to her.

“Wait! Satella!” She stopped and turned around. “It's really dark and it’s dangerous for a cute girl like you to walk alone. Would it be ok if I walked you home?” Subaru needed to make sure she got home safely. He would never be able to forgive himself if he were to let her go alone and something happened to her. 

“YES!!! I mean, sure, I would be happy if you walked me home. Thank you.” She responded with gratitude. Satella couldn’t be more excited. She had a bit more time to spend with her Subaru, she couldn’t have asked for more.

Subaru and Satella both walked back to her home. They chatted and laughed along the way, both very happy to have the others company. Once they arrived at the building, Subaru could only stare at it in awe. The building was massive, and it was also extremely beautiful. Satella told Subaru goodbye and ran inside the building excitedly. Subaru, with a smile, began to walk back to his own home. He had completely forgotten about why he had come out today and couldn’t care less. He met a wonderful girl named Satella and couldn’t have been more satisfied with how the night turned out.

Subaru woke up feeling great. He slept extremely well last night and felt refreshed. He got up and changed into his iconic black and orange tracksuit. After brushing his teeth, he proceeded to leave the bathroom to go eat breakfast. Once he was done with his meal, he entered his room and closed the door behind him. His room wasn’t big, but it wasn't small either, it was the perfect size for him. In the right corner of the room, facing the door, was a queen size bed. To the far-left corner, Subaru had his gaming setup. He had a black and orange chair situated in front of a long desk with an LED keyboard and mouse placed on it. A microphone and three monitors were on the desk with a headset placed over the right monitor. His computer was set on the right of the monitors and was glowing brightly in many different colors. All over the room were video game posters such as Doom and Call of Duty. There was also a shelf filled with different manga and light novels. 

While walking to his chair his phone vibrated in his pocket. Pulling out his phone and sitting down in his chair, he saw that he had a new message from Satella, the girl he had met the other night. He was surprised, he didn’t think she would be the first one to send a message, and this quickly. He expected to have to be the first one to text the other due to her being very shy.

“Good morning! Did you sleep well?” Upon seeing the message his heartstrings felt a pull. He stared at the message for a bit before moving to reply. What should he say? Having not once in his life messaged a girl other than his mom, he didn't know what to say. He decided to just go with the most logical decision instead of overthinking it.

“Good morning to you too! I slept really well last night. Probably the best I’ve slept in a while.” He responded. After sending the message, he glanced over the text many times making sure that it was alright. Though it was highly unlikely that there was any problem, he wasn't going to take any chances. Freeing him from his mind, Satella had responded to his message almost instantly.

“Really? I'm really happy then, I also slept really well!” Knowing that Satella also slept well made him happy as well. He really liked her, she was kind, shy, and absolutely beautiful. There had to be a way to try to get closer to her. Subaru needed to know how, he wanted to talk to her daily or possibly meet up with her again in person. While thinking of a plan, he received another message.

“Sorry I didn't tell you this earlier, I was just really surprised, excited, and really nervous. I watch your live streams on Twitch and I absolutely love your streams! They are very enjoyable to watch.” Subaru was completely embarrassed; he didn't know that she was a fan. That explains her shyness when they met yesterday. He was happy that she watched his streams and that she actually enjoyed them. Knowing that he made at least one person happy with his content, made him feel warm inside. Subaru was truly grateful to receive such wonderful and kind words from her.

“Really? It’s really embarrassing, but it makes me happy. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Hearing that from you makes it all worthwhile.” When he started streaming, he mainly did it because it looked like fun. He never gave much attention to people’s opinions on him, he would only stream as a hobby during his free time. Now, hearing this from a wonderful girl he just meant, he couldn't help but start to take pride in his work. He was satisfied by Satella’s comment, if he was making other people happy, then that was a win for him.

“You probably don't know it, but I stream on Twitch as well. I wanted to ask if you would be interested in a collab. You don't have to; I'm not pressuring you. Ever since I started watching you, I’ve always thought about doing a collab. I would be honored if you would do so with me!” This was not something Subaru expected. The fact that she was a streamer only surprised him a bit, but it wasn't what shocked him. It was when she said that she would like to collab with him. She even said she would be honored to. A cute girl wanted to work with him? That sounded amazing! No one in their right mind would reject that offer!

“Of course, I would be glad to do so! When do you think we should do it?” He responded. Subaru was excited, he didn’t know what she had planned, but he was looking forward to it. They both shared a common interest. Subaru was happy that they had a nice way to get closer.

“How about tomorrow? Are you able to that day?” Satella responded.

“Yeah, I’ll be free tomorrow. We should be able to do it then” Subaru answered.

“Well then, tomorrow it is. I still haven’t eaten breakfast. But before I go, I should give you my username on Twitch. Its “TellaTella” 

“Alright I’ll check it out right now. Talk to you later.” Placing his phone on his desk, he turned his computer and monitors on. After opening Twitch and searching for her account, his jaw dropped. Satella was close to reaching 3 million followers, he was completely shocked. Satella was very popular. It was pretty obvious though; she was extremely gorgeous and very nice. Any guy would instantly be attracted to her. After all, you never really see too many girls like Satella who stream on Twitch. She was one of a kind.

Knowing now how big Satella was. He couldn’t help but question what was so special about him? Of all people, why did she enjoy watching him specifically? What made her want to collab with someone as small as him? There was no one to answer his questions. The only thing he could do was ask her himself. He decided to do that another time. Though he did have small doubts, he casted them aside. She had chosen him, right? That's all that mattered. If he didn’t feel worthy of her kindness, then he would make himself worthy. That's the kind of man Natsuki Subaru, AKA “Pleiades” was. 

As Subaru slouched in his chair and gazed at the roof of his room. He could only think about the future. He never expected something like this would ever happen to him. But he was happy that it did happen. His life was going to change drastically after meeting Satella. He couldn’t have asked for more. Natsuki Subaru had a bright future ahead of him. 

Chapter Text

Standing in front of the mirror was Natsuki Subaru, looking himself over to make sure he looked his best. Like always, he had his classic black and orange tracksuit. Nothing was different than what he always looked like. But still, Subaru had to make sure he looked his best. He wanted to look good in front of Satella. There was also a lot of pressure on him since he would be in the presence of hundreds of thousands of people. 

Walking outside of the bathroom and into the hallway, he went to the kitchen. Pouring himself a cup of coffee, he sat down on a stool and pulled out his phone. It was 9 in the morning, he still had a few more hours until him and Satella’s stream would begin. Not knowing what to expect, he could only hope for the best. Maybe they would play a game together? Or they could just simply chat with each other and the viewers. Subaru preferred the latter, he wanted to talk more with Satella and possibly form a connection with the viewers. Since Satella had complimented him on his streams, he wanted to try to get closer to those that watched him. 

On the lock screen of his phone, was his adorable younger sister Beatrice. She was riding on Subaru’s shoulders with the happiest smile in the world. Subaru looked at the screen fondly. He remembered all the times they spent together. Tsundere was the best way to describe her. Whenever he would call her ‘Beako’ she would always say it sounded stupid. However, she secretly loved being called that by her big brother. 

Subaru loved his sister more than anything in the world. He loved to hug her and give her head pats, she was the most adorable little sister he could ask for. Maybe he should visit her one of these days, he could also bring along Satella. Subaru could introduce her to his parents, though his Beako might not take kindly to her. However, he knew that his parents would accept her, they were very kind and always supported Subaru no matter what. 

Finishing his cup of coffee, he washed the mug he drank out of and placed it back in the cupboard. He walked back to his room and sat down in his chair. Unlocking his phone and going to his messages, he opened Satella’s contact.

“Good morning! How are you?” said Subaru, sending the first message of the day between the two.

“Good morning to you too! I’m doing great, I'm really excited for today.” said Satella. She was beaming in joy at receiving a good morning message from her crush.

“I’m really excited too! What do you have planned?” he asked. Subaru wanted to know what they would be doing beforehand so he could possibly prepare. 

“Oh, I was thinking maybe we could just chat? I don't really know; we will have to see when we start the stream.” Satella really just wanted to spend some quality time with her crush. Talking to each other is the first step. She wanted him to get comfortable with her so they could further their relationship.

“Yeah, I was thinking that too. We will have to see though.” Subaru had some questions he wanted to ask her. He felt he was at a disadvantage, she seemed to know more about him than he knew about her. She had been watching him for a while now, yet he had just met her the other day. He would use this as a way to learn more about her.

“I was wondering, how are you feeling? There will be a lot of people watching so I just wanted to know how you are doing.” Satella had a hard time getting accustomed to so many viewers watching her. This was going to be Subaru’s first time in front of so many people. She couldn’t help but feel worried about him. It wasn’t easy to just sit in front of such a large group of people. It takes time to get used to.

“I won’t lie, I’m pretty nervous. Having so many viewers is really overwhelming. Though I won't be alone, I’ll be with a beautiful girl after all.” Satella’s gained a light blush. Getting compliments from her crush was amazing. It would be even better if he said it to her in person. Also knowing that she could ease his worries made her happy. Just being with him was enough to calm him down and that made her feel warm inside.

“I’m happy to hear that. If you need anything know that I’ll be here for you.” Subaru’s face gained a slight blush. Satella truly was a nice person. 

“Thanks, I’ll make sure to come to you if I have any troubles.” He was glad that he could rely on her. Maybe she could also come to rely on him too. That time would come soon. He just had to pave the way to that future.

Soon enough, an hour had passed. The long-awaited moment had finally come. Sitting down in a black and orange chair was Natsuki Subaru. Anxiously waiting for the message from Satella, he kept on checking for a new notification. His emotions were mixed, he was excited but at the same time nervous. It wasn’t good to be pessimistic, so he tried to keep himself from drifting off into his own mind.

Finally, like the light at the end of a never-ending tunnel, his phone vibrated. Opening it and seeing the notification, it was a text from Satella. 

“I’m ready now. Here is my discord name “Satella#9135” the message said. Subaru opened discord and added the account given. Satella accepted the friend request and sent him a message on discord.

“There, we are ready. I’m going to call you now.” As he finished the message, he received the call from Satella. Placing the headset on his head, he answered the call and turned his camera on. Satella did the same.

Looking at Satella, he could only say that she looked very cute. She wore an oversized black hoodie with orange flowers. She had black sweatpants on with orange and white stripes along the side. She also had the same headset as Subaru, hers being black and his being orange. One thing that stood out to Subaru was the ‘N’ logo, which was the same one on his favorite tracksuit. His cheeks turned pink as he looked at it. It made him feel happy that she admired him that much as to have a custom-made hoodie with ‘his’ logo on it.

Satella upon seeing him, blushed and covered her face with her hands. She could only feel embarrassed at the way that her crush was staring at her. She didn't mind it at all though, she would let him stare all he wanted. Subaru was the only one she would allow to gaze upon her so intensively. If he wanted to stare at her body, she would let him observe to his heart's content.

“Subaru, can you hear me?” she asked him.

“Yeah, loud and clear! I’m glad I could hear your beautiful voice.” he responded. Satella blushed even more, she couldn’t handle his compliments. Subaru was her greatest weakness.

“U-Um, we should start our streams now. Mhm, yup!” she said quickly. She was embarrassed and had to quickly change his focus. 

They both opened OBS and prepared everything for their streams. It was the long-awaited stream. They were both excited, however Satella was nervous. She was worried about how the chat would think of Subaru. She knew that they might not like him so much.

“Alright I’m ready, how about you?” Subaru asked. 

“Yes, I'm ready too. Let's start now.” She told him. They both started their streams and waited. People began to flood into Satella’s stream. All of the people that were joining were curious as to who the black-haired boy was that was on the screen alongside Satella. The viewers were flooding the chat with questions about who the boy was. 

“Hello everyone, today I am accompanied by ‘Pleiades’.” Satella addressed the viewers. 

“Hey guys, most of you don't know me but I’ll introduce myself.” He said while jumping out of his chair, pushing it back. “My name is Natsuki Subaru, streamer name ‘Pleiades’, thank you for having me here today!” He said excitedly and with enthusiasm while striking his strange pose. Subaru wanted to make a good first impression, so he introduced himself in the best way he could think of. 

The chat was wild, they all wanted to know who was the person named Natsuki Subaru who also calls themself ‘Pleiades.’ What was his relation to their goddess Satella? Could he be a friend, or something beyond that? NO! They wouldn't allow that to happen. They wouldn’t let anyone near their beloved goddess. 

The chat needed answers, and they needed them now. Taking action, they fired their questions in rapid succession. “Who are you?” “What’s your relationship to Satella?!” “You can't have her bastard!” “Anyone who dares to get near her will suffer!” They were all wild, Subaru was completely taken back, Satella had to step in to end their relentless assault on her crush.

“E-Everyone, please calm down. We will try to answer all of your questions one at a time.” She said with a worried look. She didn’t expect the chat to be this violent towards her crush. Maybe it would have been better to not have this stream at all. No! It’s not good to think like that! Her eyes shone in determination. A bright fire could be seen in her eyes if you stared deep enough into them.

“Me and Subaru will each pick out a question you guys have. We will try to answer them the best we can. So please calm down, your questions will eventually be answered. There is no need to worry.” With a smug look on her face, she nodded to herself, proud of how she took control of the situation. Subaru couldn’t stop smiling, she looked so proud of herself it was adorable! 

“Subaru, do you want to take the first question?” She asked him. 

“Sure, why not. Hmm, let’s see… Ah, this is a good one. AstroCole81 asked ‘How do you guys know each other?’” Subaru noticed a lot of people asked the same question. They must really want to know more about his and Satella’s relationship. 

“We met two days ago when we bumped into each other in front of a convenience store. We talked a bit before trading numbers, then we parted ways” He answered. The chat was furious, who did this man think he was? Getting the phone number of their goddess was unacceptable. How dare he get close to her? 

“Alright Satella It's your turn now. Pick a question” Subaru said

“Hmm, there are some really good ones here. Ah!” Upon looking at this specific question, her cheeks turned red. “Tobymac49 asked ‘Are you two in a relationship? You guys look very cute together. If you aren’t then you should hurry up and get together!’” Satella looked away from the camera while covering her face with her hands. Her and Subaru looked like a great couple? Satella’s heart couldn't stop beating. She couldn't’ have agreed more with Toby, Subaru and her were destined to be together!

“Umm, well~ we aren’t dating… yet. But thank you for the comment, I'm happy that you look at us that way.” Satella spoke the last sentence quickly. Subaru didn't hear the end of her first sentence, as she spoke the final word quietly. However, the chat picked up on it instantly and they were not happy. This left the poor boy confused at why they were all so angry at him.

The viewers all wanted to end Subaru right here and now. He is trying to take away their Satella from them! How dare he think he could do that and get away with it! Everyone was angry again; they were all riled up. Anyone who dared get close to their goddess deserved the worst punishment to ever exist. 

“P-Please stop being so rude! I am very disappointed with how you guys are treating my Subaru!” After finishing those last two words she froze. Everyone went silent, Subaru, Satella, and the chat were all speechless.

Did she just say that out loud? What if Subaru heard her? What would he think? She really hoped he didn't hear her. If he did, she hoped he wouldn’t dislike her for being possessive.

Upon hearing Satella’s proclamation of him being hers, his face turned as red as a tomato. This was a massive success for him! Their relationship just keeps on improving every second. If it kept on going like this, he would have to propose to her right this second! (She would have instantly accepted without hesitation.)

“Hold on really? Are you already claiming me? This is a huge step forward in our relationship. Honestly that makes me really happy.” Subaru said while giggling. He didn't mind her claiming him. She was so cute when she said that.

“YES! I mean no. I mean- jeez Subaru you idiot! Making me all flustered like this. You are such a bully.” She said sticking her deep red cheeks out into a huge pout. Though it seems like she is mad, she is actually very happy inside. She just couldn’t show it yet, the time isn't now. She would show him how she truly feels when they are both alone.

“You are so cute when you are mad, just another thing I love about you” He said in between giggles. Hiding her face, Satella placed it on her desk so no one could see. Subaru couldn’t stop teasing here jeez! He is relentless, he never stops his barrage of attacks to her maidenly heart. If he keeps on going like this, she won't be able to restrain herself!

“OK! Moving on! You take the next question, now hurry up!” she said trying to direct his attention to someplace else. Subaru could only laugh at how flustered she looked. His master plan had worked. Teasing the girl was so fun, her adorable reactions are what he lives for. Seeing how “angry” she was hilarious.

“Alright, alright. Let's see here. This is a good question. CannonRocket asked ‘Subaru, have you ever dated anyone in the past?’”

“Well, back then I was never popular. I didn’t have many friends and most people avoided me. I guess it was my fault, I totally messed up my high school debut. Looking back at it now, I see why I stopped going to school. I'm happy that I decided to give it another chance though. So, to answer your question, no I haven’t. I was a shut-in NEET so obviously I was single.” 

Satella was sad but mainly very angry. Her Subaru did nothing to deserve the treatment he received. He was the best person ever. None of them deserve him anyway. Satella was the perfect girl for him. No girl should ever dare to try to get near her Subaru. He was hers and hers only, no one else could have him! 

Noticing Satella’s anger, Subaru stepped in to calm her down.

“Satella, it's alright, I'm over all of that now. I'm living a good life at the moment and I couldn’t have asked for more. Even though I had a bad past, I'm happy with what I have right now in the present.” Hearing this Satella slowly began to calm down. Subaru was so strong, that is one of the thousands of things Satella loves about him.

“Ok then, if you say so. I trust you so I’ll take your word for it” she said with a smile directed to him. 

“I’ll be choosing the next question now. Here is a good one. GhostBlade0 asked “Satella, other than streaming, what do you do in your spare time?”” Thinking about it, she never really did much. She would usually lay around thinking about Subaru. She would mainly fantasize about them having kids and living together in their own house. Though, for obvious reasons, she wouldn’t say that.

“I sometimes go to a local coffee shop and order a drink while I do work. I also like to play with my cute kitty. He is a fluffy black cat with hazel eyes. I love playing with him and cuddling him. Falling asleep with him in my arms is also very nice.” 

Satella specifically picked her cat for his appearance. The cat resembled a special person and that's exactly why she loves the cat so much. She even named him after that person, but she wouldn’t say it out loud. Especially since the one he is named after is with her right now.

“It's my turn now! This is an interesting question. SizzleSkit asked “Are you the same Subaru that FanaticalDemon always mentions in her streams?”" When Subaru read the question at first he was confused. However, after thinking about it, one person popped into his mind. 

“Are you talking about Rem-rin? Yeah we have known each other for a long time. We have been friends since we were just kids. She was always very nice to me and I like her a lot. She is a great friend and a very good girl.” Rem always wanted to be around Subaru. She would cling to him all the time when they were together. Most of the time, she would shower him with compliments and praise for even the most menial tasks. He never really understood why, but he appreciated it, even if it was a bit too much.

“Oh, so you have a childhood friend that is a girl. The way you described her must mean she is a wonderful person. You also gave her a cute pet name, Rem-rin was it? I wish I could have my own pet name. I would also love to meet Rem-rin in person. We would have a nice long and friendly chat together.” She said with a huge happy smile on her face. This girl was just a friend after all. They weren’t anything beyond friends, it's not like she is totally in love with her Subaru, right?

The chat was absolutely terrified. She was angry, she was very angry. They all went quiet as to not get caught up in the crossfire. They could only send their condolences to Subaru even if they don't like him. 

“I already have a pet name for you Satella-tan. Rem is a nice girl; she is just my friend. Now that I think about it, I haven’t seen her in a while.” Subaru said quickly as to try to tame the furious Satella. He could feel her deadly aura emanating through the computer screen. Today he learned a new lesson, never get Satella mad. It will only lead to disaster.

“Satella-tan, Satella-tan, Satella-tan. I love it! Call me Satella-tan one more time!” She said enthusiastically. Hearing her new pet name, she completely forgot about the girl that she was so angry at. She couldn’t be happier to hear him call her ‘Satella-tan’. She had to hear it again!

“Anything to make you happy Satella-tan. But please don't be mad at Rem, she is a nice girl I swear.” Pleaded Subaru. He didn’t want Satella to hate Rem, they might meet in the future. If she kept this level of hatred towards her, a war could break out when they meet. 

Satella was in love with her new pet name. She was completely drunk off of it. “Fine, but on one condition. You have to take me out on a date. If you can do that, I’ll forgive you.” Using his pleas for forgiveness as a weapon, she gave him a deal. This was the perfect plan, now Subaru has to take her on a date. 

“Really? That's it? Well, that's a relief. I’ll be happy to take you on a date.” He said as he sighed in relief. Subaru was thrilled, she had basically said she wanted him to take her on a date. Now they had a date officially planned. After the stream, Subaru would have to begin planning for the perfect date Satella will ever have.

“Hehehe, a date with Subaru.” She said over and over again as she wobbled from side to side. Subaru couldn’t do anything to snap her out of it. Satella felt absolute bliss at the moment. She got an adorable pet name and a date. She couldn’t be more happy than she was right now.

“Alright, I’ll pick another question then. I think this is a good one. “ColonelMax9 asked ‘What is your ideal partner?’” Subaru pondered over this question for a moment. The first thing that would pop into his mind is a girl with long silver-hair and gorgeous amethyst eyes. Satella was the one who couldn’t leave his mind when thinking about this question.

“I’ve always been attracted to silver-haired girls. The color looks beautiful and elegant and I can't get enough of it. Having a cute face and a cute smile is always something I want my ideal girlfriend to have. Just looking at them as they smile at me, making my heart flutter, it would be really nice. Finally, a kind and caring personality is a must. I want a girl who’s so nice they wouldn’t hesitate to help someone in need. Someone who would help me get back on my feet after I've been knocked down. That's the perfect girl in my eyes.”

Upon hearing Subaru’s words, she was snapped out of her drunken state. Satella couldn’t put how she felt into words at this moment. Tears formed at the edge of her eyes. The pure emotion in each and every word made her heart skip a beat. The ideal partner Subaru described was exactly what he thought of Satella. She noticed that, and she couldn’t contain her happiness. She wanted nothing more than to just jump on him and give him a huge kiss. She was his and his only, she will forever belong to Subaru. Hearing his indirect confession, she could only love him even more than she did before.

The chat was left speechless. They couldn’t help but agree with the man they hated. Satella was kind, beautiful, and all around a wonderful person. This is the main reason why they all love to watch her streams. Most of them are greatly inspired by Satella. Others find use her stream’s as a way to break from reality and to just have fun.. 

“I think that's a good way to end the stream. Thank you guys so much for watching. Also, thank you for all your wonderful questions. I'm really happy with how today’s stream turned out. Bye guys!” She said while waving at the viewers. Subaru wished his viewers goodbye and closed his stream as well.

“Wow, that was an amazing stream. Probably the best I’ve ever had, how about you Satella-tan?” asked Subaru. 

“Yes, I feel the same way. So~ about our date, when should we have it?” She couldn’t help but ask. The sooner the better, but she had to make sure that Subaru was available.

“How about next Friday? I should be free in the afternoon. We could go to the mall, and then go to a restaurant.” 

“That sounds amazing! I can't wait for it then! You better be ready; I’ll make it the best first date!” she said with a smug smile. 

“That’s what I should be saying. You stole my line!”

They both laughed together for a few minutes. Whenever they were together, they would forget about everything around them. They both loved each other deeply, though they weren't ready to admit it to each other. That time would present itself soon. And oh boy how they couldn't wait for that moment.

Saying their goodbyes, they both ended the call. Subaru checked the time and noticed that it was getting late. He forgot to eat lunch because of how much fun he was having with Satella. He went to the kitchen and cooked himself a nice dinner. After he finished eating, he went to brush his teeth. Once done, he walked back to his room and changed into his pajamas, he then got into bed. As he slowly drifted off to sleep, he could only think about Satella. That night he slept peacefully yet again. Subaru couldn’t wait until Friday. That day would be a day he and Satella will remember for the rest of their lives.

Chapter Text

It was a Wednesday afternoon, two days before Satella and Subaru’s date. The city was filled with cars, driving around to get to their destination. Tall buildings spread all across the area, windows shining as the sun reflected off of them.

Standing on the balcony of an apartment building, was a black haired boy, gazing at the city that he grew up in. There was no sentimental attachment between Subaru and this city. The only thing he could say about it was that he was born in it.

Being an ex-shut-in he never went outside to enjoy the days of his youth. Instead, he stayed inside his room all day, never letting the sun touch his skin. He regretted wasting those days in solitude.  

The view offered from his balcony was rather entrancing, allowing the black haired boy a full view of the place he calls home. He could see everyone walking on the streets below him, they were like ants from where he is situated. Moving to and from work, business, or simply shopping with friends.

He closes his eyes as he promises to strive better, to be more active, something his parents want very much from their shining star. Furthermore, his sister Beako would always insist on them leaving to go do fun and exciting things, an action that truly helped the both of them. 

Subaru would always come to his balcony and just lean against the rail and observe the city. It was a good way to just relax and free his mind from all of his tiring work. While gazing at the city, he couldn’t stop his mind from wandering to a certain girl. The silver-haired beauty with gorgeous amethyst eyes, Satella. Ever since their stream together his thoughts would drift off as he thought about her occasionally. 

It was an odd feeling, how little time they have known each other, yet it seemed like they were two old friends, rather than two recently acquainted strangers. Subaru was surprised how it seemed like Satella knew him inside and out, his preferences and desires. He attributed it to how he must seem like an open book to some people.

Subaru and Satella liked each other, though they both didn’t fully know the feelings of the other. Subaru could only think about how their relationship would continue to move on from this point. He knew that Satella liked him and looked up to him, but that was it. He didn’t know much about her other than her kind personality and admiration sent towards himself. If he wanted a chance with her, he had to learn more about her, while slowly getting comfortable with her. It wouldn’t end well if he decided to rush things. 

Rushing things never went well with Subaru, he remembers back in high school how impulsive he had been and would stutter words or display flashy poses that made his fellow students uncomfortable. While it took a long time, he had learned from those mistakes and accepted his faults and weaknesses, yet he had never been in a relationship before.

There was a good chance that if he asked Satella to be his girlfriend right now, she would accept. However, is that really what he wants? They have only known each other for less than a week. It wouldn’t feel like a real relationship if they forced a relationship, there wouldn’t be a connection between them. 

They had to form a strong bond first, and once they did, everything would smoothly piece itself together. At least that's what he hoped would happen. The world is a cruel place, anything could happen.

He had seen how she had acted around him. She was very shy and looked up to him. Some people would say this is a sign of love, but it could also just be a sign of respect at meeting someone you admire. Subaru didn’t know which of these two options was the case.

While contemplating his love life, Subaru’s phone rang. He normally never got calls from anyone, only the usual Scam Likely and his parents now and then checking up on him. Taking out his phone from his tracksuit’s pocket, he looked at the caller, it was his mom. 

Memories flash in the boy’s mind of his loving parents. Natsuki Naoko an absent minded yet wonderful mother to Subaru and Beatrice, who was weirdly obsessed with mayo, just like the other members of the family. As well as their father Natsuki Kenichi. A true titan of an individual that would always manage to make Subaru cheer up despite his penchant for wrestling moves early in the morning. Subaru smiles at the memories.

Answering the phone and putting it to his ear, his mom spoke.

“Hello Subaru, how are you, are you doing okay?” Naoko asked curiously with the slight worry a mother would show for their child. 

Even though there was nothing she should be worried about, she couldn’t help but do so. He was her baby boy and always will be. Even if he didn’t like her calling him that at times, she would never stop.

“Yeah, I'm doing great mom, you message me almost every day to check up on me.” Subaru responded. He didn’t mind his mom worrying about him so often. It only made him happy that she cared so much about him.

“I do it because I worry about you, I’m your mother after all. I’ll always worry about my baby boy, especially since he is living alone now.” Subaru closed his eyes as he smiled. This world didn’t deserve her, Naoko was the best mom Subaru could ever ask for. He could only feel thankful for having her as his mother.

“Yeah, I get that, and I appreciate it. Well, is there anything else you want to say? I don't think that you would call me just to ask how I'm doing.” She would usually text him to check up on him. Today was different, she had called him instead of sending a simple message. She must have something to talk to him about.

“Oh right, I wanted to ask if you could pick up Betty from school this Friday? At least for only a few hours. Your father is going to be at work, and I won't be able to pick her up.” 

“Really? Damn it. I had a date planned for Friday, but if I have to then I will. I don't mind picking up Beako.” Though it sucked that his date had to be pushed back, he didn’t mind since he was going to be taking care of Beako.

“Oh? You had a date planned? Who's the lucky girl?” Naoko teased. She wasn’t too surprised that her Subaru was already getting girls. He was a handsome young man just like his father after all. 

“Her name is Satella, she is a wonderful girl. She is absolutely beautiful and very charming. I’ll be sure to introduce you to her soon. You’ll love her.”

“I can't wait to meet this Satella then. You better bring her over as soon as you can.” Naoko wanted to meet this girl that had caught Subaru’s eye. If she was as amazing as he told her, then she couldn’t wait to see for herself.

“I will, and I can’t wait for you to meet her. Goodbye mom.”

“Goodbye sweetie, I love you”

“I love you too, bye.” Ending the call, he walked back inside and to his room, phone in hand. He sat down in his chair, laid back, and stared at the ceiling. 

“I have to tell Satella about Friday, this is going to suck.” He lays there for a few minutes before sitting up right. 

Subaru opened his phone and went to his messages. Pressing on Satella’s name, he was about to start typing but stopped. What should he say? What's the best thing to say to not make her mad? Will she still want to go on the date if it was postponed? He contemplated this for a few seconds. Once done, he steeled himself and began typing.

“Hey Satella, if you're not busy I have to tell you something about our date on Friday.” He sent the message and waited patiently. He didn’t want to make her disappointed or sad. He just wanted to make her happy and have a fun time.

“I'm free right now, what do you want to tell me?” She responded wanting to know what he had to say. Maybe he wanted to go somewhere and decided to ask her opinion on it.  

“Well, my mom just called me a few minutes ago. She told me that Friday I would have to go and pick up my little sister from school. Beako’s probably going to want to stay with me the whole day instead of going home.” After finally sending the message he waited anxiously for a response.

After a minute with no response, Satella had finally answered him. “Oh, I guess there is nothing we can do about that. If it’s fine with you, we can still hang out together with your sister. We can just postpone the day of our date.” 

Satella was a little disappointed that they couldn’t go out together on Friday. Though there is still a chance they could, it would have to be with his sister. She wanted to be alone with Subaru, just the two of them together. However, if Friday is not possible, it could just be moved to another day. She could use this opportunity to get friendly with his sister. After all, she is going to become her sister-in-law in the future. It would be a good idea to get a head start on their relationship.

“That's a great idea! We could maybe go to the arcade, then get some food somewhere. Beako loved going to the arcade with me.” Subaru smiles to himself, reminiscing about the old times he and Beako played together. It would be amazing to play together again. He missed her a lot even though they haven’t been apart for that long.

“The arcade? That would be really fun! I can't wait to go with you and Beako!” She smiled widely reading his reply, thinking about all the fun they would have.

“Alright it's settled then. Us three will be going out together on Friday to the arcade! I, Natsuki Subaru, will make it a wonderful and memorable day for all of us.” He shouted proudly, well actually typed. He vowed he would make it a great day for all of them, and he would make sure his words held true.

“I’ll come and pick you up around 3:00 p.m. so we can go straight over and pick her up.”

“Then I will be ready by then so we can quickly head out. Here is the address to my apartment.” Satella was jumping in excitement. Subaru was going to come and pick her up at her own apartment. She was excited to be able to have some alone time with her Subaru. It would be the second time that they were together and alone. Though, it would only be a short time as they would be going to pick up his little sister.

“Got it. I’ll see you Friday then.”

“Yup, see you Friday!” With that their conversation came to an end.

Satella was happy with the outcome. She was worried at first that they would have to postpone their date and she would have to wait longer. However, Subaru said that they could still be together just that it would have to be with his sister. Satella wanted to be alone with her Subaru, but she would have to make an exception.

Subaru was happy that she accepted the postponing of their date. He was really anxious up until she suggested they still could hang out that day. It was going to be a great Friday. There was a lot of stuff they could do. Subaru had a lot of planning to do.

The sun seeped in through the curtains covering the windows to the pitch black room of the black haired boy. Due to the contact of the sun and his eyes, he began to slowly open them.

Getting up from his bed, he walked over to the window next to him and opened the curtains, lighting up the dark room. 

It was Friday morning, the day that he and Satella, alongside his sister, would go out and have fun at the arcade. Subaru was very excited to see Satella in person again. It has been around a week since he had last seen her in all her beauty.

Subaru did his morning radio calisthenics before entering the bathroom. He brushed his teeth, combed his hair, and gazed at his handsome self in the mirror. Once done with that, he walked outside of his bathroom and made his way to his closet.

Subaru never really wore anything beside his tracksuit. Though that didn’t mean that was the only set of clothes he had. Opening his closet, he looked around for the right outfit to wear. Something casual was what he wanted. He was only going to hang out with Satella and Beako so there wasn’t any point in trying to go all out. 

After a few minutes of just darting his eyes back and forth across the many shirts, pants, and other clothing items he found what he wanted. Taking his newly picked outfit, he placed it on his bed and began to take off his shirt. His upper body was completely exposed. While Subaru could not say he was an athlete, he did take care of himself, the evidence was his toned torso and muscled arms. Grabbing the shirt on his bed, he began to place it over himself.

Completely unaware of the silver-haired girl gazing at him, slightly drooling as she stared at him. Her eyes were filled with passion as her core clenched with heat and desire.

The apartment currently being occupied by Satella was perfect for what she was doing right now. She thanked the gods for granting her this beautiful opportunity. She specifically made sure that her apartment would align with her beloveds, after all. It’s best though to not question how she knew where he even lived.

From her balcony, she could perfectly see Subaru through the window in his room. Planning ahead, she bought herself a telescope to observe him a few weeks after moving into this apartment. It was the best investment she had ever made in her life.

Once done changing, Natsuki Subaru walked up to his drawer and opened the top cabinet. Inside were a few pieces of jewelry ranging from fancy watches to gold necklaces. What stood out the most was a small crimson box the size of a fist. 

Subaru reached his hand out and took the box into his hand. He stared at it for a few minutes before opening it to reveal one of his most treasured items. Pulling it out and raising it in the air, Subaru smiled. In his hands was a gold necklace shining brighter than any star to ever exist. What held the most sentimental value to him was the small crimson scorpion attached at the bottom. 

Placing the necklace on his neck, he looked down at it and admired it. He had a sad smile on his face. Tucking the necklace into his shirt, he walked out of his room and into the living room. He walked up to a full body mirror and looked himself over head to toe. Starting from the bottom, he wore orange and white high top sneakers. Moving further up, he wore plain black jeans alongside a plain orange T-shirt. 

After looking himself over in his selected outfit and striking many different strange poses, he walked back into his bedroom. He made it to his computer and checked discord, opening it to see his two best friends playing chess.

“What's Otto doing up this early? Shouldn’t he be at work today? I understand Garf being up since he doesn’t have class. Wait, what time is it anyways, I didn’t even check when I woke up.” The time was 11:40 a.m., he still had plenty of time before he had to go. So, he decided to spend the time watching YouTube and exploring Twitch.

After waiting for a few hours, it was time to leave, he walked to his front door and stepped outside of his apartment. Retrieving his key from his pocket, he proceeded to lock the door. 

Going down the elevator and out of the main lobby, he walked into the parking lot towards his car. He laughed in his head as he thought about the car his wonderful father bought him.

Subaru’s dad bought him this car on the day of his high school graduation. His dad thought it would be funny to buy him it. He didn’t really mind though; he liked the car either way since it was a gift from his dad. It was also a brand new car so he wanted to cherish it.

In the parking lot of the apartment was a 2021 Subaru Crosstrek. It was sleek and new, being a car that was released just this year. It was a bright orange, the same color Subaru always wore and loved. 

“Every time I see this car, I can’t help but laugh at my dad’s amazing choice.” Subaru brought out the keys to the Subaru and opened the door of the Subaru. Getting inside and sitting down at the driver's seat, Subaru looked around fondly at the beautiful inside of the Subaru. The seats of the Subaru were all black but with orange stripes along the sides, matching the iconic colors Subaru always wore. 

Subaru pulled out his phone and placed it into the cup holder, the time was 2:00 pm, just an hour before he had to pick up Beako. He started the car and began driving towards Satella’s apartment.

Passing all the scenery always amazed the fierce eyed boy of how much progress the world has made in these residential, and urban districts. Just to see the voluminous skyscrapers, reaching towards and clawing at the sky was a simple marvel in human engineering. Subaru liked to sketch in his free time, and had several artist pads, a hobby he hasn’t really shown anyone. 

“Maybe Satella will be the first one, I wonder if she appreciates art.” Thinks the boy to himself as he pulls up in the address shown on his GPS. It didn’t take long to arrive at the building.

He reverse parks quite neatly and gets out, as he heads inside the apartment complex with mixed feelings of nervousness yet at the same time filled with immense excitement. 

Standing in front of her apartment door, Subaru ponders about the situation. When entering the apartment complex, he was told her apartment number. He was very shocked to discover she lived in the newly constructed apartment complex near his very own. Furthermore, when apartment hunting, he had seen this one being built, and the prices made his face pale.  

“She must make a killing on Twitch to afford this place, it was so expensive last time I checked. I really can’t wait to see her. This will be a momentous date even if Beako is tagging along. I am sure she will make the situation even livelier. Well, Natsuki Subaru, here goes nothing, let's be a man.” Subaru makes up his mind and knocks decisively three times. After waiting for a few seconds, the door opened to reveal a divine being of unfathomable beauty.

The girl wore purple and black flats with long tight black leggings. Higher up a black skirt with purple lines running along the edges could be seen. A blouse with the dominant colors of black with light magenta coloring. On her neck was a gold flower necklace. Her hair was perfectly combed; it seemed as if it was done by the hands of a master hairdresser.

Here Satella looked at her soon to be beloved’s reactions and shined a radiant smile at him. 

“My it seems I outdid myself with this outfit, I managed to get this amazing man to be stunned by my looks.” Thinks the silver haired girl with eyes full of expectation and mirth.

Subaru’s jaw dropped as he gazed all over her body, his eyes wandering every part of her. She was just too beautiful. The shell shocked boy thinks to himself:

“Where did this fairy descend from? Heaven or beyond a mystical waterfall? I can't believe how beautiful and elegant she looks, the way I look into her amethyst eyes is like being submerged in a calming pool of lavender. Her divine figure outclassing even the most gorgeous of models, for they are mere mortals in front of this goddess. How did I ever get so lucky to catch her eye?”

It wasn’t until Satella spoke that he was brought back to the real world. In a rather abrupt manner that made the boy flush at being caught quite literally gazing at this amazing woman.

“I don’t mind you staring at me, but it’s a little embarrassing” she said shyly with a tint of pink appearing on her face.

Of course, she would not mind for the man of her dreams, who she spent every waking hour thinking of, to appreciate the work she had put into making herself look presentable to her one and only. She actually would prefer for him to never keep his eyes off her, even if it was embarrassing.

Subaru rubbed his head sheepishly and wore a dumb smile on his face. “Well, I was just so captivated by your beauty that I couldn’t help but stare. Sorry for that, can I come in?” 

“O-Oh yes, please do come in. We still have a bit of time before we should head out.” She said with excitement. Subaru thought her eagerness was directed at the events that were going to happen during the rest of the day. This was true, however, most of the excitement was for the limited alone time they were going to have at this moment.

How this young maiden craved the time to spend with her beloved, it could be hours or minutes but each one she cherished with the full might of her heart. How ecstatic she becomes upon seeing her Subaru, how joyful when they both laugh in harmony. 

Furthermore, she has double checked and knows for a fact that there is no one else that is even close to the level of passion she feels for him. Except perhaps a certain blue haired streamer, whether she remains a friend or enemy is yet to be seen. She moves aside to let the black haired boy enter her home.

“Thank you” he said as he stepped into the large apartment Satella resided in. Looking around he could see a large kitchen with many cabinets, drawers, and kitchen appliances and on his left and an even larger living room. The floor was marble and shined with such luster that one’s faint reflection could be seen from it.

The living room had three long black couches, one facing the massive flat screen TV and two on the side of it facing each other. A considerable set up, surely meant for when inviting many guests over. Subaru was gazing at the elegant way the furniture complimented her walls, floor, ceiling, and interior design.

“Come and sit down,” Satella said while patting the seat on the couch next to her. A hint of pride could be detected in her voice, as she had worked hard to acquire all of this furniture and décor. However, she rarely if ever had any guests over. She is a very solitary person despite her outgoing and cheerful persona.

Subaru walked over to her while gazing at the luxurious apartment. It was one of the fanciest places Subaru has ever been to. It was as if he had stepped into the realm of gods. In the living room, there was a large door in a wall of glass leading to a big balcony.

He sat down next to her still staring in awe at his surroundings just like a small child. Satella couldn’t help but let out a small giggle at how adorable he looked.

“What's so funny?” Asked Subaru, still processing the fact he was in this marvelous apartment, alone with such a gorgeous girl.

“It’s just that you look so cute when you smile like that.” She really liked it when he smiled like that. It reminded her just how adorable he was. Every one of his smiles provided her sustenance to be at her most cheerful state.

Subaru blushed a little and looked away. “Well, I couldn't help it, I've never been in such a beautiful home.”

While usually he does not care much about the finances of others, for the first time he became a little nervous at the idea, he pondered whether Satella would care about his own but quickly dismissed the thought as the silver haired girl continued speaking:

“You’re right, I’m very lucky to be residing in this lovely apartment.” A deep red blush formed on her face as she remembered the events prior to Subaru’s arrival. The idea of seeing the person of her desires really made her core tighten and heat up, she had to forcibly repress her emotions, or she may have pounced on the unaware Subaru.

The true meaning of her words was not known to Subaru. He will probably (hopefully) never find out.

As he kept on looking around, he noticed something he had missed before. A big stargazing telescope was positioned outside on the balcony.

Subaru’s eyes widened, bright and shining stars could be seen in his pupils. Flashbacks out in the country field with his dad as they stargazed flash through his excited mind.

Satella looked at Subaru and noticed his childish expression. This just made her blush increase and her smile widen, turning up and reaching both ears. She thinks to herself:

“How is my Subaru so adorable? He looks so cute right now I might just pass out. I wonder everyday how lucky I am to have him in my presence at this moment. Kyaaa! I’m so excited to always spend time with my beloved.”

“Satella-tan you have a telescope? That’s amazing! You think we could check it out really quick? I really love stargazing, and a telescope is something I have always wanted.” Subaru said excitedly, vibrating in the seat due to his childlike excitement.

“Ah! U-Um, S-Sure, yeah that’s f-fine.” Satella was a stuttering mess. She couldn’t think correctly whenever she was reminded of what she saw on her balcony prior to Subaru’s arrival. Her face would heat up like crazy, so she used a small black and silver fan on the living room dark coffee table to fan herself and cool down.

Subaru quickly stood up like an eager child and began to speed walk towards the grand balcony.

He opened the glass sliding door and stepped onto the balcony. The fresh air greeted him by calm and gently grazing his face. He proceeded to walk over to the telescope and examine it.

“Holy… This thing is gorgeous, now I really want to get one for myself. I should start saving up to buy something like this.”

Thought Subaru to himself happily, joyous at the occasion to be able to use such a fine piece of equipment. Though, a little disappointed that it is not night time, so the capabilities of the telescope were drastically reduced.

Subaru was wowed by the quality and size of it. This telescope was massive, as well as the balcony. It was almost the size of himself! The telescope seemed as if it was taken right from NASA.

Subaru looked through the telescope and looked all around, searching for anything he could use to observe through the top quality lenses. However, he stumbled upon something that surprised him.

“Wow! Hey Satella-tan, you can see my apartment complex from here. I think I can even see my own balcony and window from here.” As those words left his mouth Satella was instantly by his side.

“W-Wow! W-What a c-coincidence, I t-totally didn't notice i-it there!” She lied as naturally as she breathed. Clearly nervous at almost being caught so easily, this would not be an easy thing to explain if he were ever to find out.

Turning back to look at her, he found a bright red faced Satella trying to avoid direct eye contact with him. Her whole entire head was red, and steam could be seen coming from her ears, like a comical cartoon character.

“Satella are you alright? Your face is really red, are perhaps not feeling well? He said as he walked up to her and placed a hand on her forehead. Subaru was concerned as he kept on explaining:

“Your forehead is a bit warm, maybe you should rest for now. I can go get you some medicine and whip something up for you to eat.” The fearsome eyed boy always prided himself in his cooking that could make his neighbors mouth water from the fragrant aroma.

“N-No, I-I’m alright, I just n-need to sit down. Yes, all I need to do is sit down!” She ran back inside and jumped onto the couch. She thought about how Subaru had touched her, she placed a hand on her forehead, trying to recreate the feeling. Something that she would not mind happening again and again.

Satella felt happy inside, she was overflowing with extreme happiness. Her Subaru had touched her and shown worry for her. He even offered to take care of her. She ponders to herself in an excited state:

“Subaru is such a good person; I know I can always count on him. He shows so much care for me and that's just one of the millions of wonderful traits he has.” She thought sadly, wanting to become a person like him, but she knew she would never be like him.

Subaru walked over to her, closing the sliding door of the balcony behind him, and sat down next to her. He could see that she obviously wasn’t feeling too god, whether it was emotionally or physically.

“I don’t want to come across as a pervert or anything but please allow me to at least do this, it is something that I do for my cute sister Beako and it always seems to calm her down.”

He pulled her head down and placed it on his lap. This is something he had always wanted from a beautiful girl; however, the tables have turned, and he is the one giving the lap-pillow to said beautiful girl.

“Don’t worry, I’ll take care of you if you aren’t feeling well. I will always be here for you after all. You just need to ask me anything and I’ll be here.” 

Softly explained Subaru as calmly gazed at her head resting in his lap. He truly meant every single word and would not hesitate to accomplish them in whatever way possible.

Upon hearing these words Satella’s heart was screaming. She couldn’t help but let out a few tears. She was so lucky to have met her Subaru that fateful day at the convenience store. A chance of fate, bonds of destiny intertwining between each other.

She knows it isn’t right for people to attach themselves to someone so quickly. However, at this moment she really did not care.

Without Subaru she is nothing. She would be just like she was back then. A loner, surrounded by no one but people who didn’t even cast a glance towards her. She was always alone, all throughout middle school and high school.

Satella was socially awkward so it was hard to make friends. The boys only looked at her because of her looks, and the girls envied her for her beauty. So no matter how hard she tried she couldn’t get people to like her, so she simply gave up trying.

Thinking back to those horrible and lonely days always brought an immense pain to the silver haired girl’s heart.

Even now that she is much older and mature it’s the same thing. She is simply just an empty and average girl, going on with the rest of her life, not expecting any type of change in her black and white world.

What a meaningless life that is, to just keep on going without a clear goal and directions is something that should be changed, acknowledged, and sought to improve. Satella finding Subaru was her motivation to succeed, and to hopefully be by his side for the rest of their life.

That’s why she began to stream on Twitch. Before Subaru, she would have never even batted an eye at the idea. Someone like her who couldn’t even make one friend couldn’t even imagine the thought of building a fanbase. However, after seeing him interacting with his viewers so easily and so kindly. It gave her determination to become like him, since maybe she would get the chance to meet him if they shared a similar hobby.

Satella’s tears began to increase in speed. They fell down onto Subaru pants, leaving a wet spot on them. Subaru didn’t mind though; he would let her have this moment.

Subaru recalls the times when he would cry due to his inability to face his own troubles, his fears and insecurities keeping him locked in his room. Without his parents and Beako, he could only imagine him staying locked inside his room for god knows how long.

He can tell there is something going on with this girl he so cherishes, yet he will leave her be as his parents would do to him. Silently watching over her like this is a fascinating sensation after all.

“N-No I’m fine, just l-let me stay l-like this and I’ll be f-fine.” Subaru could tell from her voice that she wasn’t ok. He didn’t know why she was feeling this way, but that didn’t matter right now. He just needed to calm her down and make her feel comfortable

Subaru began to stroke her hair, whispering sweet nothings into her ear. This only increased the amount of tears falling from the girl’s closed eyes. She switched positions and buried her face in his chest, which was getting soaked with tears but the black haired boy did not mind, and he continued whispering the sweetest things to her:

“You are an amazing person, Tella-Tan” She didn’t even notice the new nickname she was given.

“Don’t worry I am here for you, forever and always if you need me.” She was so happy, if anyone would waste their time to listen to her troubles, she’d want it to be him. However, she shouldn’t trouble him with her problems, not yet at least.

“Take your time, It's only us in your apartment, we’re in a judgement free zone.” A judgement free zone… that sounded wonderful. She knew she could trust her Subaru with her problems. However, she didn’t want to bother him.

She doesn’t deserve him; Subaru was such an amazing person. To put up with someone as useless and annoying as her must be tiring for him.

The negative thoughts however were instantly wiped away as she continued to indulge in the feeling of his hand passing through her hair. The feeling of his hand passing through her hair, massaging her scalp, calmed her down easily.

Satella relaxed into his lap, not falling asleep but enjoying the sensation of his thighs under her head. Satella was the happiest she has ever been up until now. Being so close to her beloved like this made her heart soar. She fell into a quiet and harmonious rhythm with herself and her beloved, neither talking but the peaceful atmosphere needed no words.

She snuggled further into his lap, wanting to feel more of it. She rubbed her cheek continuously on his lap, like a puppy wanting to cuddle its owner.

From Subaru’s perspective he could only smile much more then he had before. She looked so peaceful and adorable he didn’t want this to end.

Satella wished they could stay together like this forever, but all good things must come to an end.

“Satella, we have to go now. If we didn't start heading now, we are going to be late, and I don’t want to leave my cute Beako waiting.” She nodded and began to get up from his lap. 

She rubbed her eyes with her sleeves and gave her beloved a huge smile.

She gave him a quick hug that turned his face red as an apple, and she whispered in his ear:

“I'm sorry you had to witness that, however thank you for only reaffirming how amazing of a person you are Subaruuu, well let’s get going shall we? I really want to meet your cute little sister now. “ She said as she backed away from him smiling.

Subaru’s heart skipped a beat as his face turned pink. She looked so cute right now, but now wasn’t the time to just gaze lovingly at her face. They had somewhere they had to go. It may be traffic time soon and they should make haste.

Checking his phone, he noticed it had been 40 minutes since he arrived at her apartment. They had enough time to make it to Beako’s school if they left now. 

Subaru got up from his seat and offered his hand to Satella. She gladly took it and was pulled up off the couch. They both walked to the apartment door, holding hands. 

Making sure they had everything and were ready, they turned off the lights and locked the door behind them. They both went off to the car, hand in hand, smiling so brightly it would blind anyone who saw them. Both were excited at what the future had in store for these two love birds.
