The setting sun over Lotus Pier did nothing to alleviate the heat of the summer day so the two young men, looking to be in their late teens, sat in the shade of a pavilion on a private dock outside the guest quarters.
The two teens were as opposite as could be. Where one was fair like the white jade one of his many titles came from, the other was tanned from his days working in the training yard and swimming in the lakes that made up is home. The differences didn't stop there.
Lan Zhan, also named Lan Wanji and known as the Second Twin Jade of Gusu Lan, held himself with a serene stoicism, spoke as little as possible and when he did it was with quiet deliberation, using as few words as possible.
Wei Ying, commonly referred to as Wei Wuxian, had enough energy for three, flirted with anything that moved, and a few things that didn't, as well as talked, and talked, and talked. No one could argue that he wasn't brilliant, being a master of the six arts, even at such a young age.
"Lan Zhan," Wei Ying sprawled on the deck as he looked up at the other teen who sat in a perfect lotus position, back straight, shoulders back. "Are you sure you have to leave tomorrow morning?" he asked when the golden eyes of Lan Zhan looked down to meet the silver of Wei Ying's. The teen bounced up to his knees and scooched to lean across the table where a cooling pot of tea and two cups sat. He stuck out his bottom lip and pouted batting eye lashes at the other.
"Mn. Lessons." was the succinct, nearly monotone from Lan Zhan.
The answer had Wei Ying flailing backwards with an disappointed argh "Lessons in summer. How boring. Is that another one of your 3,000 and something rules engraved on your wall. No having fun during the summer." looking again at Lan Zhan his face registered his alarm when he noticed the other's ears turning crimson.
"I am talking to much aren't I." Wei Ying sat straight up, thinking the crimson ears was a sign Lan Zhan was upset with him "Sorry, sorry. I shouldn't disparage your sect," even if he thought it was true. He pats his mouth with a hand "I'll shut up." he sighs and moves to pour a tea for Lan Zhan and some local wine for himself, a slight frown on his face.
After a few moments of silence Lan Zhan speaks "No. Wei Ying is fine."
The frown was quickly replaced by surprise and then a smile that crinkled his eyes and was bright as sunshine, "Really?" his tone is once more bright and energetic. "Look." he points off to where kites were flying high in the sky. "My shidis are having target practice. They make it a competition." as Lan Zhan turned to look at the kites for a few moments Wei Ying quickly switched the cups, picking up the one with the tea, while Lan Zhan got the wine. "Do you want to go give it a try? Show them how good the Lans are at archery?"
When Lan Zhan turned to give a nod, Wei Ying saluted him with his cup and downed the drink like the alcohol it is supposed to be. He gave Lan Zhan a bright sunny smile that had turned plenty of fair maidens heads.
It had been a long day for Lan Zhan, enduring ceaseless chatter and being dragged to all of Wei Ying's favorite spots so he downed the liquid in the cup in one shallow, not realizing it was alcohol until he felt the burn in his throat.
The barest of scowls came to Lan Zhan's face as he looked at Wei Ying with narrowed eyes.
Wei Ying once more leaned across the table his face inches from Lan Zhan's, "How was it? Did you like it?"
"Wei Ying!" Lan Zhan got to his feet and began to turn to leave, only to have his elbow quickly grabbed and pulled backwards, he spun toward Wei Ying his momentum sending him careening into the other and they both fell over, Lan Zhan landed on Wei Ying in a tangle of arms and legs. He promptly passed out, pinning Wei Ying to the ground.
Wei Ying lay there patiently waiting. He was in no rush to get up from under the other boy. He was looking forward to what would happen next, and was coming up with all kinds of scenarios in his head for the good half an incense amount of time when Lan Zhan began to stir.
"Lan Zhan. Lan Zhan" Wei Ying whispered as he poked the other teen in the shoulder "Wake up."
A soft groan came from Lan Zhan and he lifted his head from where it was tucked under the others chin. Eyes met, the silver of Wei Ying's delighted, the gold of Lan Zhan's confused at best.
"Get up Lan Zhan." Wei Ying pushed at Lan Zhan's shoulders only to have his wrists grabbed by Lan Zhan and pinned above his head as he pushed himself partially up and trapped Wei Wing under him even more.
A flash of surprise crossed Wei Ying's face but he was quick to adapt to the situation. Looking up coyly at Lan Zhan he bit his bottom lip before he spoke "Why Lan Zhan, pinning me down, whatever will people think." he lifted his head as he spoke allowing their breath to mingle.
"Don't." Lan Zhan growled lowly.
"Oh Lan Zhan, you know I have to now! I am unable to resist when someone tells me no! I just have to have it even more." he squirms and arches his back, pressing into Lan Zhan wantonly.
The move is sudden and Wei Ying is unprepared when Lan Zhan's mouth covers his, his gasp in surprise is enough to allow Lan Zhan to deepen the kiss his tongue searching out the other.
Wei Ying's surprise only lasts a few moments, and he quickly finds himself enjoying the sensation and he is kissing in return with equal fervor as a heat slowly began to spread throughout his body.
Eager hands began to explore cloth covered bodies and Lan Zhan's mouth is soon to follow, moving across Wei Ying’s cheek, to his ear and down his neck. Biting the tender flesh near the collar bone brings forth a moan of pleasure from Wei Ying, which only serves to have Lan Zhan bite and suck at Wei Ying's neck more.
As Wei Ying felt his sash being loosened and his robe pushed off his shoulder's a bit of sense returns "Lan Zhan, is this alright? Should we be doing this?"
There is a momentary pause from Lan Zhan but he doesn't lift is head "Wei Ying?" he questions, his voice low and breathy.
"I was just asking. I didn't tell you to stop." Wei Ying said quickly, "Please don't stop." his voice is almost begging.
Lan Zhan obliges, returning to claim Wei Ying's mouth once more as he frees them both from their robes before flipping them over so Wei Ying is straddling him. He arches his hips, clutching onto Wei Ying's hips as he grinds against him "Yes, Lan Zhan! Lan-er-gege. Tell me, tell me what you want. Please!"
The demands of Wei Ying had the other sitting up to wrap his arms around him and pulls him close to lay siege once more to Wei Ying's neck. Between bites he growls out "I want you. To make you mine."
There is no hesitation in Wei Ying's reply "Do it. Please Lan Zhan, make me yours, all yours." the world seems to spin as Lan Zhan once more flips them over pinning Wei Ying to the ground.

Wei Ying opened his eyes as a tremor ran through his body and the ghostly sensation of fingers roaming his body faded. He took a breath, willing his frantic heart to slow down. It was a dream, not an unpleasant one, but it felt so real that he couldn't figure out if it was a long lost memory resurfacing, or just his unquenchable desire for his husband intruding into his subconscious. He thought one was just as likely as the other, but it would be a shame to have forgotten such a teenage tryst. Did that happen? Has it real?
"Lan Zhan?" he called out into the quiet of the Jingshi. He could tell by the light filtering in through the windows that is was still early morning, earlier than he usually woke, but not so early that Lan Zhan wouldn't be up already. "Lan Zhan?" he pouted and let out a hmph when his calls was met with silence.
Crawling off the bed he padded around the privacy screen and sat on one of the cushions that surrounded the table. Staring at the tables surface he tried to figure out the dream. It felt real, he was in his old body and him and Lan Zhan were teenagers. Wei Ying didn't remember Lan Zhan ever visiting Lotus Peir back then, but there was a lot of things he didn't remember from before. It couldn't have happened, right? Wei Ying shakes his head But what if it did? He was so deep in thought that he didn't hear the Jingshi door slide open and closed or Lan Zhan greeting him as he returned from whatever errand he had to deal with so early.
While Lan Zhan found it unusual for his husband to be awake this early in the morning, it was more unusual for his arrival to be ignored. What passed for a concerned expression came to his face as he set the tea tray down to sit next to the other man taking in the mix of worry and confusion that filled Wei Ying's face.
"Wei Ying?" Lan Zhan put a hand on Wei Ying's knee and gently shook it to get his attention.
The touch snapped Wei Ying out of his thoughts, and he turned to look at his partner, "Lan Zhan." the confused and worried look still lingered. He eagerly crawled into Lan Zhan's lap when the other pulled him close.
Squirming around so they were chest to chest Wei Ying wrapped his legs and arms around Lan Zhan and settled his head in the crook of his neck.
"Up early. Bad dream?" Lan Zhan asked as he rubbed a hand up and down the other's back. Lan Zhan knew that the past still haunted Wei Ying and nightmares happened on occasion.
"A dream yes, but not a bad one." Wei Ying answered "It was a nice dream, but..." he paused here a moment to collect his thoughts "Lan Zhan, you know your husband's memory from before, and there is a lot I don't remember." as he spoke he brushed his lips on Lan Zhan's neck enjoying the occasional shiver it caused in his husband.
"Mn." was the affirmation from Lan Zhan.
"Lan Zhan, did you ever visit Lotus Pier when we were teenagers. Before all the crazy happened?" Wei Ying held his breath as he waited for a reply.
"No." unless you were fluent in Lan Zhan, and Wei Ying was, most of the time, you wouldn't be able to hear the regret in his voice.
Wei Ying let out his breath in a sigh of relief "That's good."
That wasn't the response Lan Zhan was expecting and the hands that were rubbing Wei Ying's back stilled, "Why?"
Leaning back so he could look Lan Zhan in the eyes, Wei Ying cupped his face, "Because my Lan Zhan, forgetting all the things your teenage self did to my teenage self would have been the most horrible of tragedies. Mouths and hands everywhere!" Wei Ying smiled in delight and kissed Lan Zhan as he watched his ears turn crimson.
"A tragedy." Lan Zhan agreed as he pulled Wei Ying back into his arms.
Wei Ying settled back down with his face pressed against Lan Zhan's neck, "You are so warm. I could fall asleep here."
"Mn." Lan Zhan agreed readily to the idea.
Stifling a yawn Wei Ying whispered into Lan Zhan's neck "You will ravish me, possess me, and make me yours, when I wake up later?"
"Whatever Wei Ying wants, he gets."
"I want you Lan Zhan. I want you more today than I did yesterday, and I will want you even more tomorrow, just as I love you more today than I did yesterday, and will love you more tomorrow than I do today." Wei Ying's tone made it sound like the sincerest of promises.
The words made Lan Zhan's breath catch and his arms tightened around his husband, "Want you, love you, more today than yesterday, and even more so tomorrow." he echoed back just with fewer words and lowered a kiss on Wei Ying's temple.
"I am the luckiest man in the three realms." Wei Ying said before succumbing to sleep.
Lan Zhan smiled down at his sleeping husband, "No Wei Ying, I am."
