Work Text:
Adam held Reki in his arms as they raced once again with their boards locked together and the young teen was sent into a panic once more. His breathing quickened.
“L-let go!” He screamed. They successfully turned a corner together and then Adam spread the boy’s legs apart. Reki shuttered.
“Reki!” Langa yelled from the audience. He sweat nervously with Miya, Joe and Cherry near him. They were also worried about Reki – Joe and Cherry especially. They wondered if the boy would be able to get out of this race alive this time. There was an aura of darkness around Adam…
“Come! Let us dance and see who best is fit for Snow.” Adam cheered and then brought Reki in for a dip. Reki couldn’t help letting out screams. This man, this legendary skateboarder terrified him, but he knew he had to keep his cool once Adam goes into the Love Hug later. There was no way Adam would let go of him here so he grit his teeth, anxiously waiting till he could skate freely and away from this monster.
Adam danced a little longer than Reki or anyone watching anticipated for. Reki’s friends and Tadashi wondered what Adam was up to. Reki knew this was going on for far longer than he anticipated for. Was he even going to let him go? Just then Adam brought Reki to kissing distance with his hand on his waist and his heart raced fast. His face turned bright red as a lump in his throat formed and he tried to break his hand free. The audience gasped and watched even closer, wondering how Reki would get out of this.
“Give up.” Adam said. He had an extremely dark aura that was screaming red flags in Reki’s mind. He couldn’t lose, not to this man. Not again. He had to beat him and win.
“Never…” Reki said, brows arching downwards, his golden eyes filled with fiery determination. Adam smiled.
“Yes~ Put up a fight!” He let go of the red-headed teen and they were now riding separately. Reki breathed and pant heavily in relief to be away from him finally, but it wasn’t over, there was still Adam’s Love Hug he still had to get passed. He had to dodge him this time. He didn’t want it to end here. He had to keep going, for all his friends who helped him get here who helped train him before this match, for Langa. He couldn’t lose here. He couldn’t let Adam win again.
“Reki…” Langa said softly under his breath. His fist tightened to his chest making his shirt crumple in his tight grip. His heart wouldn’t stop racing.
“They’re almost to the factory, but will he make it?” Joe wondered aloud. He and Cherry couldn’t relax till Reki gets past Adam’s Love Hug illusion trick, but even then, even if he overcomes that hurdle there were still some dirty tricks and stunts Adam could play to get him to lose that could hurt or kill him like what happened to Cherry.
Skating a bit longer, making sharp corners here and there, Reki began to catch up to Adam once again after lagging behind. He sweat nervously the closer he got. He wondered if he’d get past his signature trick. There was a lot on the line; if Reki lost here, Langa would end up having to skate with this madman and he didn’t want that. He couldn’t give Adam the pleasure to skate with his best friend. He wouldn’t let himself lose here. Though Adam was leagues ahead of him, Reki was determined to beat this legendary man.
“Hm? Catching up, are we?” Adam observed, hearing the sound of Reki’s board following him close in pursuit. Turning on one last corner and now nearing the final stretch, Adam spun around and opened his arms wide to embrace the naïve nobody Reki. Reki inhaled deeply and exhaled slowly. He kicked off high into the air and successfully dodged Adam.
“He did it!!” Langa and Miya cheered alongside everyone watching. Joe was relieved the little guy was able to do it; Cherry watched cautiously.
When Reki landed, he felt a whole new world open up to him, but he couldn’t enjoy this personal achievement just yet. Adam was surely surprised and now dead set on crushing him. Adam grit his teeth, but he wasn’t angry, in fact, a wicked smile carved his face.
“Who would have thought this nobody could evolve so quickly?” He mused.
“Oh my god! I did it!!” Reki said in surprise. He looked behind him to see he had made some distance between him and Adam. Feeling cocky, he thinks to himself he might actually be able to win this.
Adam comes zooming like a bullet and catches up to Reki once again. He locks their boards together and takes hold of the boy in an embrace that was most sexual, surprising not only Reki but the entire audience. No one could have anticipated he’d lock boards with his rival twice in one race. Everyone was on the edge of their seats. Langa couldn’t sit idly by anymore and rushes to the factory, taking someone’s motorcycle.
“It seems I’ve greatly underestimated you, little lamb.” Adam said in a seductive tone into Reki’s ear. Fear overwhelmed the boy as they entered the factory together. Adam slid his hand down to the rim of Reki’s pants and fondled the hand he was gently holding. Reki was starting to lose his cool and his legs quivered. He felt a cold sweat and the lump returned, and he couldn’t speak up. Adam had him trapped in his embrace. “You’ve shown me your love, it’s only fair I return mine tenfold.” Adam nipped on Reki’s earlobe making him flinch with a gasp and blushed. Reki couldn’t take much more of this and tears welled up in his eyes. He wanted to give up. He started falling back into despair…
“Reki!!!” Langa’s voice echoed as he arrived at the finish line.
“Lan…ga…” Reki said weakly. Adam spun the boy around to face him and held him close. He gave the boy a few kisses on the cheek and his neck making him turn redder. Reki couldn’t think well. Everything was so hazy and blurry.
“I think it’s about time I pluck away the Forbidden Fruit.” Adam said and suddenly let go and unhooked their boards making Reki wobble over the edge of the rails. The audience gasped and murmured, nervous of Reki falling to his doom.
I’m… I’m going to fall!
“Reki!! You can do this!!” Langa cried out. It made Adam jealous how attached his Eve had become to this nobody. Reki somehow regained his balance just barely. He continued on, but the closer he got his knees trembled. He was so close but was so afraid. He had to take a deep breath and exhaled slowly again.
“I… I can’t let him win.” He said aloud. Suddenly the steel under him collapsed from rust and he fell. He just barely grabbed onto the ledge. The sound of his board falling to the ground echoed. Looking down it had completely shattered. Reki’s face grew dim and just then the sound of a winner rang. He had lost and now was going to die.
“Reki!!” Langa ran to help his friend which made Adam unhappy.
“Langa? Help! I’m slipping!” Reki cried. Langa grabbed Reki and helped him up to safety. Reki held onto Langa and hid his face in his chest. He felt like such a failure. Langa held his friend close.
“I’m so glad you’re alive.” Langa said.
“But I lost… and now you’ll… you’ll have to face him again… it was terrifying…” Reki said. He was shaking terribly.
“You’re still alive and unharmed. I think that’s what really matters here.” Langa comforted.
