Chapter Text
"Tom, wake up! You have to get on the school bus in 30 minutes!"
Tommy groans and sits up in bed. He yawns and stretches quickly. "I'm up, mum!"
He gets out of bed and quickly gets ready for school. His bag is already packed with the books he and his dad had picked up from the school days before. He slings it over his shoulder, runs a shaky hand through his hair and goes downstairs.
He smiles at the sight of his dogs and quickly pets them both with a chuckle. He walks over to the kitchen isle and grabs himself an apple. His mother walks around the corner and smiles slightly at the sight of him. "Good morning."
He bites into his apple and stands still as his mother runs her hands through his hair a couple times with a frown on her face. He hums. "The new shampoo I tried out isn't as good as the one I usually use, mum."
She nods and steps away. "Well, we'll just keep an eye out for your old one here then. I don't really know for sure if they sell it here, but-"
"Don't worry, mum, it's not even a big deal.", Tommy laughs and his mother huffs. "You know when to pick me up from school, right?"
She nods and slightly shoves him to the door once he's thrown away the rest of his apple. "Hurry up then, don't wanna be late on your first day."
He rolls his eyes at her and puts on the new shoes Wilbur had recommended to him. He figured he might as well buy new ones, since TikTok was already bullying him for his shoes. He scoffs internally.
He waves to his mom as he exits the house and walks to the bus stop a street down from his. He puts his airpods in and plays "Romance Is Boring" by Los Campensinos!, a band Wilbur had recommended to him a while back.
He arrives at the bus stop right as the bus arrives and quietly gets on. He sits down in an empty seat and leans his head on the window as he stares at the blurry view of houses and cars passing by.
Once the bus finally stops and kids begin to get off the bus, he takes out his airpods, grabs his backpack and quickly follows the other students outside. He eyes the building warily for a few seconds.
Tommy jumps slightly when his phone buzzes in his pocket. He takes it out and huffs at the messages he got.
Wilby: Don't worry, you got this. Call me if it gets too overwhelming, child.
Tubbzo: AYE YOU GOT THIS, BIG MAN!!!
Phil: You'll be fine m8.
Techno: God it's way too early for this crap, but I only live half an hour away from you now. If you need me, call me, kid.
He huffs and puts his phone back in his pocket. He takes a deep breath and walks inside the building.
He quickly finds his locker and opens it. He puts a few books inside, to relieve him of his back pain. His terrible posture also wasn't helping much with it. He closes the locker and moves to turn around, when someone speaks up from behind him.
"Tommy?"
The blonde teen turns around and sends the boy in front of him a shy grin. "Hello. I'm new here. I guess you know me as TommyInnit?"
The boy blinks and rubs his neck with a nervous laugh. Tommy's eyes widen in recognition at the familiar sound.
"Yeah, well, kinda..."
"Ranboo?!", he whisper-yells in disbelief. Ranboo's eyes widen and he quickly pulls Tommy into an empty classroom next to the lockers, the shorter boy yelping quietly. "What the fuck?!"
"Why are you here?"
Tommy raises his arms in frustration. "What the fuck do you mean, dipshit?! I moved here!"
Ranboo groans. "Oh god, and you moved here? This is such a horrible coincidence..."
Tommy snorts. "Yeah, nice to see you too, prick."
"What?! No, that is not what I meant! That is not what I meant and you know it!", Ranboo stammers and Tommy bursts out laughing. "Don't laugh at me, I-"
Ranboo is interrupted by the sound of the school bell ringing and Tommy stops laughing immediately. His eyes widen. "Oh shit, I don't know where to go."
Ranboo huffs and elbows him in the side, making Tommy pout. "Well, I've been attending this school for a while now, so... what do you have now?"
"Uh- history.", Tommy hums nervously. Ranboo gapes.
"Give me your schedule." Tommy frowns at the requests but obliges and takes out his schedule. He quickly hands it over to Ranboo, whose eyes quickly skim over it, widening by the second. "No way."
"What? Fill me in, please.", Tommy whines and Ranboo smiles in amusement.
"We have like... everything together."
Tommy gapes. "What? Dude that is so lucky of me. Wife haver moment!"
Ranboo bursts out lauging and pulls Tommy out of the classroom by the wrist. "Sure, Tommy, whatever you say."
The two walk to the classrom in comfortable silence, until- "Nice face, by the way."
Ranboo sputters lightly as he watches tommy snicker and walk into the classrom. He rolls his eyes with a smile and follows the younger boy into the classroom. "Thanks?"
