Zhongli had awoken to a missing warmth beside him. Reaching over, said spot was empty and missing a certain marine biologist with bright ginger hair. A saddened expression laid upon Zhongli’s face at this discovery. Thankfully, the ginger wasn’t too far away, as the smell of breakfast wafted through their small apartment.
“Ajax,” Zhongli had softly called out hoping the ginger would come back to bed and sleep a bit more with him. Having stayed up till midnight finishing two different geology essays, Zhongli was to say the least--dead tired.
Having heard no response. Zhongli had no option but to find the ginger himself! Slowly reaching over to the night stand, Zhongli grabs his glasses and gently places them on his face.
Able to see now, he shuffles off the bed that has grown cold without two bodies keeping it warm.
“Ajax…”
“Oh! Morning Zhongli~”
Walking up behind Ajax, Zhongli wrapped his arms around his waist. Leaning his head into the crook of Ajax’s neck and snuggling into it. He always loved how their bodies fit together. Like a perfect puzzle. Ajax chuckled at his boyfriend’s clinginess.
“Cold…”
“Mhm, maybe breakfast will warm you up”
“Tired… I want to go back to sleep…”
“But you have a class this morning,”
“Want to go back to sleep with you… you're warm...”
“Tomorrow is our free day! We can sleep in as late as you want!”
A groan could be heard from behind Ajax. Ajax finds his boyfriend adorable in the early mornings, he chuckles at the small rumbles made by his boyfriend’s stubbornness. “Why don’t you go sit down? I’ll bring you your tea and breakfast”
Zhongli groggily plants a peck on Ajax’s cheek then stumbles his way to their small table. He plants himself down on one of the seats and lets his eyes flutter shut, at least for a bit.
Ajax places down a cup of warm green tea, a plate of toast with tomato and onions on top and a slice of bread with bacon and a poached egg on top with pepper. “Hehe! You’re so cute in the morning, Zhongli!”
‘His laugh is cute… I should tell him that.’
“Your laugh is cute…”
“Oh.. uh.. Umm.. thank you…” a deep flush resting on the ginger’s face as he rubs his neck.
“And you’re really helpful..”
“Uhh..” the blush deepens and gets even brighter.
“And you’re really smart too…”
“Mhmm…” Ajax looks akin to a chilli.
“And you’re alwa-”
“okAY! THAT’S ENOUGH! Thank you! Now please eat your breakfast!”
“Thank you very much, Ajax”
“Pfft..”
The two eat in comfortable silence. Soon after they finished eating, Zhongli had ‘sobered’ up and had helped Ajax clean up after breakfast. The two walked onto campus together hand-in-hand.
“It’s quite chilly today, huh Zhongli?”
“Mhm”
The two split ways, promising to meet up for break. The day seemed to speed by.
"Ahhhh” Ajax stretched, “let's go home, I’m worn out,”
A small tug on Ajax’s sleeve and he turns around to see a pouting Zhongli.
“Oh no, what’s wrong?” Ajax starts to panic, “Ah, did I do something, oh wait… no.. was it something I said?”
“You promised to cuddle.. This morning..”
“Oh! Hehe! All night!”
