March 23th, 2018
"...Happy birthday dear Mina...Happy birthday to you!" A group of girls cheered for their friend who blew out her birthday candles for her twenty-first birthday. Mina smiled as she cut the first slice of the cake and went over to the table to start eating, She watches as her friends and her girlfriend come and sit one by one.
"Momo, Baby come sit beside me," Mina asks, Momo smiled at her girlfriend as she sat beside the brunette and started to eat. "I got you a special gift but I want you to open it when we're alone," Momo whispers to Mina who smiled.
"Well damn, I never thought I see the day where Momo would be flirting in front of us." Their friend, Jihyo said. Momo had invited everyone she knew Mina was comfortable around. Mina's childhood friend, Sana was conversing with their former classmate in high school, Jeongyeon. Mina met Jihyo during their freshman year of college because they shared so many classes and interests together.
"Nah, I knew these two since high school, Momo always been super flirty like that, Mina obviously enjoys it seeing how they're attached to the hip." Jeongyeon says causing the duo to blush and laugh. Momo stared lovingly at Mina who stared and smiled back.
What happened to that beautiful smile of yours
"You think you know them? I'm Mina's childhood friend and every time I saw her she always talks about Momo. At some point, I was wondering if I really knew Mina." Sana responded to Jeongyeon who flicks a piece of the cake on her. "Kya!"
"Food fight!" Jeongyeon says as she threw more pieces of cake at Sana.
"NO" Jihyo yelled before getting hit. The girl sighed as she looked over to Momo and Mina who were walking away from the chaos. "This is for you." Momo gave Mina a small box, Mina stared lovingly at her girlfriend.
What happened to those loving eyes.
"Happy birthday baby girl." Mina opened the box to see a crystal necklace. "Baby, This is beautiful. How did you afford this?"
"I had to work overtime to make up the money to get you this gift. It was worth it." Mina smiled as she wrapped her arms around her girlfriend's neck and pulled her in close. "I love you."
"I love you more."
November 18th, 2026
Momo woke up alone in bed, It's been like that for the past five years. The brunette looked up to see her guest putting on her clothes. "You're leaving out again Nayeon?"
"Yup, I have a job to worry about... Do you want to meet again?"
"I don't know..." Nayeon took a glance at Momo before leaving. Momo waited to hear the door shut before she got up and went to the bathroom.
I miss you
Even after all these years
Momo washed her face and showered before leaving out. She had a therapy session today.
Momo walked down the street with headphones in to help distract her from the outside world. She had her hands in her pocket as she turned to a building and sighed before entering in. The brunette looked at the receptionist. 'She must be new here.' A short pale girl was typing on the computer as she looked up.
"Hi! Who are you here for?" Momo was surprised to see how bright and happy this girl was.
"Dr. Yoo." Momo answered.
"Ms. Hirai right? Please be seated until Dr. Yoo calls you in." The receptionist said as she went back to typing. Momo went to sit in the corner, The same corner she always went to when she came to this place.
"Ms. Hirai?" Dr. Yoo called after a while. Momo got up and followed Dr.Yoo.
"How's everything going Momo?" Jeongyeon asks, After college Jeongyeon had gone back to school to become a psychiatrist.
"As fine as it can be." Momo held her head down not wanting to look at her friend.
September 7th, 2021
"I don't understand what happened, Those two were so in love I thought they would be together forever." Jeongyeon says. Momo was rounding the corner when she heard Jeongyeon's voice, followed by Sana's. "Me too, Mina use to talk about her all the time they were crazy for each other. She doesn't even bring up Momo's name anymore. She said she wants to move on with her life."
"It's a shame of what happened, The best thing we can do is to support them." Jihyo says. Momo then decided it was time to stop hiding.
"Hey, guys." The brunette tried to smile but failed to do so. She didn't miss the worried expressions on their face.
"Hey, Momo!"
November 18th, 2026
"Momo?"
Momo blinked and stared at Jeongyeon. "What?"
"It hurts to see you like this, Not only me but Sana and Jihyo too. I'm going to tell you this as your friend and not as your psychiatrist. It's time to move on."
"I could never move on Jeongyeon, You should know that. I try every day, I try sleeping with other people, I tried dating, I tried everything and nobody else was like her. Nobody can fill that empty space on my bed like she did nor the empty space in my heart." There were tears running down Momo's face at this point as she started to cry.
"I-I had everything planned and-and she ruins everything. She-she hurt me." I hurt her
Jeongyeon got up and hugged her sobbing friend. "I know Momoring... But you got to learn how to cope or something. You can't keep going like this. I can only do so much without prescribing medication."
June 25th, 2020
"Baby girl, What's this?" Momo asks picking up a box. Mina turned and rushed to Momo taking the box away from her.
"Ahh it's nothing Momoring, My friend gave me this." Mina explains as she gently puts the box down.
"What's in it?" Momo asks as she stepped closer to her girlfriend. "It's a mini-bowl with little sparkly things. It looked really pretty" Mina opened the box and pulled away the packaging.
"Sparkly things? Do you mean those fake crystals? I gave you a real crystal necklace." Momo crossed her arms at Mina, trying to be upset at her but failing to do so. "They're not fake, and I love the necklace you gave me but my friend took the time to make it for me. I couldn't just not accept the gift." Mina explained as she smiled gently at Momo, pinching her cheek.
"Okay..."
August 4th, 2020
"Momo... Baby look at me, I need attention."
"Not now, Mina. I'm busy." Mina pouted as she got up and left the room. The brunette walked back in with a water bottle and threw some on Momo. "What the hell! Why!" Momo turned and glared at her girlfriend.
"You haven't given me any attention for the last five days. I left work early today to spend time with you and you're just sitting there typing away." Momo's eyes soften a bit. "Mina, baby listen. I will give you all the attention you need once I've finished this paper."
"Yet you complained when I play my video games for hours on end." The comment pissed Momo off even further as she shouted at her girlfriend. "Because that's a fucking hobby, This is my job! There's a difference!" Mina sighed and left the room a second time.
It's all my fault
August 5th, 2020
It was mid-afternoon when Momo arrived home.
"Mina, Baby... I got you something... I'm sorry for yelling at you yesterday. Mina?" Momo walked in to see her girlfriend sleeping on the couch.
Momo walked over to the counter and put her belongings down as she walked over to the couch. She could see dried-up tear stains on Mina's face as she lifted the brunette and put her on the bed of their shared bedroom.

August 5th, 2021
"I"m not in love with you anymore." Momo's whole world felt like to was crashing down when she heard those words. "W-what?" Momo managed to say. Mina took a shaky breath. "Momo...baby I'm sorry. I-I don't love you anymore."
"When?" Momo asks.
"Eh?"
"When....when did you stop loving me." Momo tried to hold back a sob.
"I...I don't know... It just happened." Mina wiped away some of her tears as she looked away from her sobbing girlfriend. "I'm...I'm going to call a u-haul to get my things and I'll move out."
"So we're just going to end like this... High school sweetheart Myoui Mina and Hirai Momo ended because you fell out of love with me... Well, then I fell out of love with you."
I'm still in love with you
"You're just saying that to hurt me... I'm sorry -"
"Fuck your apologies!" Momo went to the ground sobbing hysterically. Mina walked around the girl and stood by the door.
"I'll always love you Momo, But we're not meant to be." Mina says, glancing at the broken girl one more time before leaving.
Nothing lasts forever.
September 30th, 2021
Jihyo was walking down the street from her afternoon lunch when she spotted out someone who looked familiar. Jihyo walked a little bit closer to see Mina standing by a flower shop as a girl who was smaller than her handed her a bouquet of roses and then kisses her. Jihyo sighed as she walked up to the duo, Mina's eyes widening when she saw Jihyo."Mina! Long time no see! Who is this?" Jihyo asks staring at the new girl.
The girl smiled at Mina and held her hand. "Son Chaeyoung here, I am Mina's girlfriend." Chasyoung introduces herself.
"Yeah, She's my girlfriend. Also Chaeyoung this is my friend from college, Park Jihyo." Chaeyoung smiles and puts her hand out which Jihyo gladly shook.
"Well Mina it seems like you move on fast but I have to get back to work... I'll see you around." Jihyo says as she left.
October 3rd, 2021
Jihyo had told Jeongyeon and Sana what happened and they planned to invite Momo to their apartment. Momo arrived and was greeted by all the girls as she sat around the table waiting. "What is it that you guys wanted to tell me." Momo asks.
"Have you considered the option Mina may have been emotionally cheating on you?"
February 9th, 2019
"Today we have a new intern, Her name is Son Chaeyoung. Mina, you will be guiding Chaeyoung for the meantime." Mina's boss says as a smaller girl with short blonde hair approaches her.
"You're Miss Myoui, right? You're very pretty." Mina smiled and thanked the intern. "I'll show you around and then we can get to work." Mina said as she walked ahead with Chaeyoung following her around. "Wowww this place is cool, How long have you been working here?"
"I've been an intern for this place for two years, Now I'm officially an employee. You will be too if you do everything you supposed to and don't get a write-up." Mina explained to the younger girl.
"Well if I get to see you every day then I won't get a write-up." Chaeyoung flirted.
"Real funny-"
"Do you have a girlfriend? Or boyfriend?" Chaeyoung asks. 'She's bold.' Mina thought.
"Yes, I do." Chaeyoung pouted. "Alright, I guess I'll just have to be your friend since your taken."
"That's all you'll ever be."
Except you become much more than that.
April 23rd, 2021
After spending so much time together over the last two years, Mina felt conflicted. She didn't feel a spark with Momo anymore but she felt a big one with Chaeyoung. The red-head watched Chaeyoung blow out her candles as her friends cheer her on. (Mina was the oldest one here since most of Chaeyoung friends were her age or younger.)
"What did you wish for Chaeng?" Chaeyoung's childhood friend Dahyun asks.
"I can't tell you or it won't come true." Dahyun pouted as Chaeyoung smiled at her before turning to Mina. "I hope you're not uncomfortable here, My friends are really nice."
"Yeah, we're friendly." Another one of Chaeyoung friends, Tzuyu deadpanned. All the girls excluding Mina and Tzuyu facepalmed. "What? Did I do something wrong?" Tzuyu asks in confusion, She looked to Mina who shrugged her shoulders, Not knowing what's going on. "Never change Tzuyu." Dahyun laughed as she went to turn on music. "Let's dance everyone!"
"We just ate, It's not good to move around a lot." Dahyun gave Tzuyu a look as the tall girl got up and went over to her, leaving Mina and Chaeyoung alone.
"You want to go for a walk, Mina?" Chaeyoung asks. Mina nodded as they got up and left.
...
The two girls walked in silence until Mina started up a conversation "Your friends are cool."
"Thank you, Most of them except Tzuyu are childhood friends.... I wanted to ask you something."
"What is it?" Mina looked at Chaeyoung who was sweating.
"I know you said you have a girlfriend that you love and care about but please just listen to me."
"I'm all ears."
"I'm in love with you."
October 25th, 2021
Mina and Momo bump into each other for the first time after their breakup. Momo was shopping with Jeongyeon and Sana who recently became engaged to each other when Momo spots out her ex by the entrance.
Momo felt like time stopped as she watched her ex-girlfriend walk towards her. The brunette remembered what Jihyo had told her and before Momo could stop herself she was shouting out Mina's name. Sana and Jeongyeon jumped and turned to see Mina and Momo staring at each other. "I need you to tell me the proper reason... Why did you leave me."
"I already told you before Momo, I don't love you anymore..."
"Because your in love with someone else... You were getting emotionally involved with her while we were still together. Is that it?" Momo shouted, Mina, stayed quiet and held her head down she could hear the pain in Momo's voice. She's still hurting
Momo felt a hand on her shoulder, She turned to see Jeongyeon and Sana looking at her in concern. "What?! She betrayed me... You guys know she's in the wrong." I should've given her more attention
"Yes I'm in the wrong Momo but Chaeyoung made me feel something I haven't felt in a while. When I was with you I felt neglected, We don't have the same spark as we did in high school." Mina said as she turned around and left.
December 31st, 2021
It was New Year's Eve, Jeongyeon and Sana were hosting a party to celebrate. They had force Momo to attend. (Not like she could say no since her apartment was very close to theirs) the brunette had her hair in a bun as she wore a long black dress that touches the ground. She stood by the balcony drinking champagne when another person came beside her. "Why are you here?"
"I'm Sana's childhood friend...Even if we aren't on good terms doesn't mean she'll stop talking to me." Mina states, Momo still thought she look gorgeous, She wore a short black dress with tights underneath. "Chaeyoung broke up with me." Mina said as she took a sip of her champagne.
"I don't want to talk to you."
"Listen Momo...I'm sorry I caused you so much pain... I know I don't deserve your forgiveness but please accept my apology." Mina leaned in close, Momo could smell the alcohol on her. But at this point, Momo was also intoxicated
"Your fucking lucky I love you so much... I forgive you." But if you say try again I'll be ready.
"Do you want to try again?" Momo smiles. Mina and Momo were nowhere to be found that night.
January 15th, 2022 is when Mina left Momo for a second and final time.
Sana and Jeongyeon had to bring Momo to the emergency room because she was throwing glass and screaming hysterically. Once the doctors had managed to calm her down they decided to keep her for the next few days.
"Why must she do this to me... I know a lot of this is my fault but she's not innocent either." Momo says as she was finally released from the hospital with Jeongyeon and Sana.
"We know Momoring, Just stay away from her. Even if she tempts you. Also, don't tempt her." Sana says, wrapping an arm around her friend.
"I'll try..." Momo responded before getting glared at by both girls.
...
Later on that day Momo went to the bar and met a woman named Im Nayeon. Both girls talked for a bit and Momo soon learned that Nayeon is one of Jeongyeon's friends who moved away a while back. "Momo... You're sad, I'm sad... You want to go back to my place?"
Maybe it was the alcohol talking but Nayeon resembles Mina a lot and before Momo could decide, She was already walking out the bar and going into Nayeon's sports car.
The rest was history...
November 18th, 2026
After finally calming down in Jeongyeon's office Momo said her goodbyes. "Say hi to Sana for me." Momo says as she exited out of the room.
"Have a blessed day!" The receptionist shouted as Momo put on her headphones and walked down the street, looking ahead. She doesn't know what the future holds for her but she does know one thing.
She'll never find someone like her again
