“Happy birthday, Renjun-ah.”
Renjun smiled softly as he heard a familiar voice congratulating him once again. “You had been saying happy birthday to me so many times already that I even lost count, Jeno-ya.”
Renjun was not exaggerating when he said that he had lost count of how many times his boyfriend had been wishing him happy birthday today. Every time their eyes locked, his boyfriend had always managed to say or whisper or even just mouthed a simple happy birthday to him. He didn’t want to admit it out loud but he found it really adorable and heart-warming to have someone, especially someone extremely special to him, constantly reminding him that today is his birthday and kept on wishing him happy birthday.
Jeno let out a small laugh and scooted himself closer towards the birthday boy who was currently resting after having a very long day. They had practice, recording and schedules for their upcoming comeback and not to mention the birthday lives that his boyfriend did as well. No wonder they were both tired, tired.
Jeno took in the sight of Renjun who was nestling beside him, seeking for warmth and smiled endearingly towards the boy. Jeno just wanted to capture this moment of them snuggling and being cozy together, and engraved it forever in his brain if he could. “I just want to say it to you as much as I can since it's your special day, you know.”
“Well, actually everyday is a special day to me because you are always in it and I get to spend it together with you.” Renjun hummed as he traced his boyfriend’s nose with his index finger.
“Oh, is that why you said you already get to receive and feel my love for you on a daily basis in the live earlier? Honestly, I was a bit shocked when you said ‘bye bye, 狗狗’ at the end of our phone call.” Jeno wiggled his eyebrows playfully and started to tease Renjun about the conversation that they had in the live earlier today.
Renjun whined and shoved Jeno to the side, face clearly flushed with embarrassment, “Oh, shut up. It’s because you kept on teasing me! You kept on going with the idea of giving your love as a present to me, you even said you will give your heart infinitely towards me. So I had no choice but to tease you back a little in the end.”
“Well, it’s not like I’m joking though. I really want to give my love for you infinitely as a birthday present. Is it wrong?” Jeno pouted as he looked at Renjun who just rolled his eyes when he saw his boyfriend started sulking.
He pinched Jeno’s cheeks playfully before cupping them lovingly with both of his palms. “Of course not, 宝贝. You are not wrong at all. I was just flustered and joking on the live. You know that I would gladly accept any kind of gift as long as it’s from you.”
Jeno grinned widely as he finally heard the positive feedback from his boyfriend. “But don’t think you will get away just like that, Lee Jeno. I will tease you first on live next time, I will get my revenge, just watch me.” Renjun stuck his tongue out towards Jeno before chuckling out loud and placed a gentle kiss on Jeno’s forehead when he saw his boyfriend’s grin turned into frown once again.
“You are really scary sometimes, Renjun-ah. I’m scared now, can I just back out from our schedule tomorrow. I’m not ready for your revenge.”
“No can do, beside you were the one that pleaded to the staff to be put together with me and Chenle. Ready or not, you will get my revenge tomorrow, Jeno 宝贝.”
“I don’t hear anything. I really don’t,” Jeno laughed loudly as he pretended to cover his ears and just ignored whatever his boyfriend said.
Renjun shook his head, watching his boyfriend child-like act was always amusing and fascinating to him. The Jeno that was in front of him right now was really different from the idol Jeno, the one that was always ready in front of the camera, the one that was always so handsome and cool when he performed on the stage.
But still, Renjun loved this Jeno or idol Jeno just the same. It’s still Lee Jeno, his endearingly soft boyfriend for almost the past three years, his best friend, his partner, his soulmate, his everything.
“Renjun-ah.”
Renjun snapped out of his train of thoughts when he heard Jeno called him. He looked at Jeno straight in the eyes curiously while snuggling back onto his boyfriend's warm body once again. “Mm, what is it, 宝贝?”
Jeno wrapped his arms around Renjun and brought the said boy closer to him, tucking him into his embrace before planting a soft kiss on his forehead and whispered, “Happy birthday to you once again, love. It’s almost 12AM now and I want to be the last person who says happy birthday to you since I couldn't be the first.” He frowned a bit as he remembered that Jisung beat him to be the first person who said happy birthday to Renjun.
Jisung was the first person who said happy birthday to Renjun last night and it was really funny how it actually happened.
“Right, Jisung beat you to it last night.” Renjun giggled softly. “Isn’t it kinda funny that I was sleeping in your room last night and we were cuddling just like this but it turned out Jisung was the first person who said happy birthday to me instead of you? Like you were there on my side while Jisung is next door.”
His boyfriend groaned a little bit before answering him, “You do know that we were both a bit occupied at that time though, it’s not my fault I lost track of time.”
Renjun snorted when Jeno mentioned that they were both a bit occupied at that time. They were actually just about to kiss each other when suddenly Jisung came, barging into Jeno’s room while loudly shouting 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY RJ!' and then froze when he realized the situation he was in. It was a pity that he couldn’t snap a picture of how red the younger’s face was as he quickly scrambled off from the room.
“Of course, it’s not your fault 狗狗. You do know that I don’t really care who said it first, I’m already happy with the fact that you kept on saying happy birthday to me throughout the entire day. Thank you, 宝贝. I really feel loved and special on my birthday because of you.” Renjun smiled endearingly towards Jeno before leaning in closer towards his boyfriend’s face, placing a soft kiss on his lips.
Jeno’s lips curved up into a soft smile after he got the kiss he had been waiting for. “I will make you feel loved and special not only today, but everyday, I promise.”
“I know you will, 宝贝. I know you will.”
“宝贝.. 狗狗.. What else next?”
“What? You don’t like it when I called you 狗狗 and 宝贝?”
“I didn’t say that I don’t like it. I’m happy you called me that, I kinda love it actually. I’m just wondering that’s all.”
Renjun hummed sleepily as he adjusted himself more comfortably against Jeno. It was clear to both of them that they were both sleepy and were ready to drift onto the dreamland together. “We have all the time in this world. I will slowly come up with more endearing pet names for you in the future since you love it. Now, let’s sleep, 宝贝. We have schedules that we need to attend to tomorrow.”
Jeno nodded his head and tightened his arms around Renjun before slowly closing his eyes to sleep. Renjun snuggled and buried his face onto Jeno’s chest and closed his eyes as well, inhaling the familiar scent of his boyfriend that always managed to calm him down and made him sleep more easily.
A small and soft small grazing on both of their faces as they went to sleep in each other's embrace.

“Jeno 애기? Ah- Jeno 宝贝!” Renjun exclaimed and laughed loudly as he read one comment that appeared on their Huya Live. Jeno who was sitting beside him, burst into laughter as well once he heard that.
It was such a coincidence to both of them since Renjun wanted to get his revenge on Jeno for teasing him on live the other day and he really got the chance to do it now by calling his boyfriend with one of the pet names that he had always used on camera, live in front of the fans that were watching their live.
Jeno chuckled and thought of the phrase ‘what Renjun wants, Renjun always gets’ was true after all. His boyfriend had always been powerful, just like that and Jeno couldn’t help but to fall in love with the said boy again and again.
