Work Text:
Kate is standing in front of the small bathroom mirror reapplying her lipstick, she catches the eye of the smaller woman coming out of the stall behind her closing the last few buttons of her blouse and readjusting the blazer on her shoulders.
“We’ve got to stop doing this at the office” Jo whispers with a quick kiss to Kates’ right cheek, Kate lets out what one can only describe as a giggle and Jo is convinced she’s never been more in love with anyone in her entire life.
And it makes Jo think about the absolute whirlwind the last six months have been, every stolen kiss, every morning she wakes up entangled in sheets and naked limbs feeling nothing but pure happiness. Date nights and family nights with Josh, being able to walk hand in hand with the woman she loves unconditionally. Early morning showers and late night baths. Learning every part of each other’s bodies and yet, somehow it feeling like their souls have known each other for a million lifetimes.
It’s everything thrilling and it’s everything mundane because she knows as long as she’s doing it with Kate it’s going to be breathtaking.
She vaguely hears Kate calling her name which brings her back to the woman stood in front of her, they’re now face to face and Kate has her hands on Jo’s waist, she smiles at her in a way that only Jo could know what she was asking
“I’ve never been more okay than I am in this exact second” Jo whispers before leaning in for another kiss, because she will never get enough of kissing the love of her life.
