Wait For Me (At an Unexpected Place)

Summary:

Obi-Wan finds Qui-Gon at an unexpected place.

Work Text:

It was strange to realise, that after such a long time, he was going home alone. Anakin and Obi-Wan had been inseparable for so long, that just a thought of not being or going where Anakin is was inconceivable. Their lives have changed a lot in these couple of years, but some things stayed the same, and this was one of them.

Apparently not anymore, as his path home today, will be solitary and without the company of his brother. Who was busy hanging out with his girlfriend (Finally!) Padme. Obi-Wan was contemplating calling Ahsoka or someone else from their club to hang out, but decided against it in the end.

Then he remembered Qui-Gon and wondered about where he was. Eyeing his phone number, Obi-Wan tried to remember if Qui-Gon has said anything about work or being busy in general today. However his memories weren't cooperative apparently, because nothing came to mind and he gave up after some time.

Just as he was about to exit the school, Luminara his classmate stopped him and told him that someone was looking for him. "Who?" Obi-Wan asked slightly confused at that information. "It was a tall, long-haired man. As I recall what Anakin has told me, he is your boyfriend right? Qui something?"

Obi-Wan felt elated at that piece of info, so he thanked Luminara, and went in the direction she pointed at. However for some reason he couldn't find his boyfriend anywhere, and was wondering if Luminara lied to him for some reason.

Incidentally just as he was about to go somewhere else, he saw a glimpse of large feet, peeking out of a bench, that was near a tree, where he passed at least two times already. Going around it, he saw Qui-Gon laying on the bench contentedly, with closed eyes, looking totally comfortable and relaxed.

If he wasn't really sleeping Obi-Wan would be disappointed. Though he mostly felt amused at the figure Qui-Gon presented, sleeping on the bench, while waiting for him near his school. The red head crouched down, and passed his fingers through Qui-Gon's hair, hoping it will wake him up. Because he didn't want to use other more extreme measures (at least that is what he told himself).

Luckily for Qui-Gon that action woke him up, and he sleepily blinked his eyes open, taking in Obi-Wan's silhouette and face. "Good morning," he announced loudly, his voice laced with humor and raspiness that comes from just waking up. "Hello there," Obi-Wan answered and smiled, leaning closer to the taller man and giving him a forehead kiss. Soon that kiss turned into a proper kiss on the lips, and it seemed like that woke Qui-Gon up completely.

When they ended the kiss, Qui-Gon jumped up from the bench and said in a sing-song voice: "Shall we?"

Obi-Wan gave him a kind smile in return and answered: "We shall."
