“Steve how are we supposed to tell him? He hates my guts”
“We’ll just have to tell him the truth”
“But how? We can’t just spit it out like that”
“Why not? We do it my way and then he can ask questions”
“So you’re telling me, that I tell Tony that I was in fact pregnant with him and you’re the dad?”
“Yeah exactly that”
“Steve my own son hates me”
“Yeah that’s cause he has no idea who you truly are”
“Steve I’m feeling rather emotional at the moment, I carried Tony in my womb for nine months. He’s my little boy”
“It’s okay Bucky I know how you feel. These past 2 years I’ve had to pretend Tony was a teammate instead of my own son”
“But what do we do about the whole Howard and Maria story?”
“Well we’ll just say that we handed Tony over to Howard to look after before our mission. And that we said if anything would happen to us, Howard would raise Tony as his own”
“I’m just scared Steve, I have no idea how Tony would react”
“I’ll be there with you Buck, with you till the end of the line remember”
*flashback*
Bucky was nearly nine months pregnant, his belly was huge and the baby hadn’t stopped kicking all day, clearly taking after Steve.
Steve walked in to the bunk they were sharing
“Hey Buck, how’s our little guy today?”
Steve asked while putting his hand on the bump and receiving a kick from within.
“Oh he’s fine, just been really restless today.”
“That’s my little guy huh, kicking your papa”
Just then the baby made a huge kick and the outline of the baby’s foot was visible through Bucky’s skin. Steve played with the tiny foot, winding the baby up even more making Bucky’s belly jump.
“I can’t wait until he’s born”
“Me either Stevie”
*end of flashback*
Bucky remembered every part of his pregnancy with Tony, even when he was the winter soldier he still had those flashbacks. He just hoped Tony wouldn’t take this the wrong way.
