Armin blinked as he watched Eren readying their travel bag. The other boy seemed to have some of his old excitement back, like when they where young and first dreaming of the outside world and all of their adventures they would have. It was seemingly out of character like he was being possessed by his old self or something.
"Are you sure Eren? The enemy could be waiting out there to capture you for all we know." Armin looked at Eren nervously as he walked around still preparing to leave. They seemed to be doing something stupid and reckless.
"Come on Armin, if we had any enemies left on the island don't you think we would have encountered them with them trying to kidnap me by now? Let's go exploring!" Eren chirped back as he handed Armin his bag. The outside was somewhere they had both wanted to go.
Before Armin knew it, they where both riding their horses out the gate into the now free territories outside of the walls. Their first official exploration.
"Yeah! Feel the wind hit us this way! In our hair! It is amazing tonight!" His eyes closed his eyes, things were going very well, until they weren't.
It happened so fast, so suddenly. Armin was pinned under a rock and trying to get out from under it, he could here a voice talking.
"Leave him Reiner, we will come back for the Colossal later. Out priority has to be the coordinate. You said it yourself, if he figures out how to use it, it is all over. Nab him and let's leave."
Armin's eyes widened as he finally realized it was Eren's older brother Zeke, the Beast Titan barking out those orders. He got out from under the rock just in enough time to see the Armored Titan biting Eren out from his Titan, then turning and running.
Armin looked to the horses....both where dead. They must have expected he would try and go get help.
Now Armin could only watch in despair as his first, and last true adventure with the love of his life came to a depressing end.
