Graveyard Bully

Summary:

During a unsuccessful search for Buffy, Spike meets a small human girl at the graveyard and at first is glad someone finally fears him. But soon ends up in the role of her protector when other vampires rise up from their graves.

Notes:

WARNING: This story contains soft, non-fatal and gentle vore, meaning one person swallows another whole, but don't worry no one is harmed by this and it's done in a protective, safekeeping sense.

Oh gosh okay so I guess this kinda spoils the big story I have in the works. I admit at first I didn't like Spike much (he still isn't my favorite) but last night I got this... idea in my head and it was basically a write it now or else.

It is a little... more stressful? Than my usual works, that's why it's rated T, plus some minor cursing. Spike does purposely scare the girl and it can definitely come off as a bit mean (hence the title). But I hope the fluffy ending makes up for Spike's jerkiness.

I wrote this in 12 hours (with sleep in between) so don't expect too much lol.

Work Text:

Spike, dressed in a black leather duster with a red velvet undershirt was taking a casual stroll through the Sunnydale graveyard. He was secretly hoping to stumble across Buffy out here on one of her patrols. It had been awhile and she wasn't home, he already checked. The graveyard was oddly quiet tonight, no demons or vampires to be seen, aside from himself. It was quite strange... He took a long draw from his cigarette, but paused mid-blow when he saw long, blonde hair poking just above one of the gravestones.

He smirked and weaved his way towards the girl, just assuming it was Buffy. Though as he got closer, he noticed she seemed small, smaller than usual. With a frown, he rounded the last gravestone blocking his view and felt his hope deflate like a popped balloon once he saw who it was, or wasn't.

He didn't know her, she was just a child, a rather small one even. She looked to be paying respects to someone, but soon turned and gasped at the sight of him, seeming... afraid. He wasn't even trying to be scary so he wasn't really sure what she was afraid of. She just stared at him with a nervous look in her eyes.

"What?" He asked, his tone holding a lace of annoyance.

The girl stood up and lowered her gaze. "N-nothing, I'm sorry s-sir. I didn't realize a-anyone else was out here..."

Spike took another draw from his cigarette before he answered. "Well there is and you shouldn't be out here." He stated in a matter-of-fact tone. "This is no place for a kid."

"I-I know but... I miss mommy, I... I j-just wanted to visit her." The small girl explained and he heard a faint whimper. He looked to the name carved in the grave, it said 'Sarah Burton'. He didn't know that name either but he assumed it was the child's mother.

"Well, if you stay here long enough, I'm sure someone will help you meet her again." He said casually, but at the same time, his face shifting to his vampiric, monstrous shape. With long, jagged fangs and predatory eyes, he grinned darkly at the child.

She let out a frightened scream, not deafening, but defiantly terrified. He watched in amusement as she scrambled and attempted to run away, but pathetically tripped over her own two feet after making it maybe two yards. He let out a brief chuckle, he couldn't hurt her, not with this dang chip in his head, but it was pleasant for him to see someone finally respecting him. He was a vampire after all! He was supposed to be scary.

He strolled over to the small human in a casual manner, cigarette still in hand. "You're not going to get far like that, squirt." He pointed out, urging the girl to attempt again in 'getting away'.

With a sob, because of course the little thing started crying, she got up and tried to run away again. She didn't belong in the graveyard, Spike felt like he was doing her a favor in a roundabout way. It was better getting a bit scared than actually killed by a demon or another vampire, freshly risen and starving. Especially given Buffy was nowhere to be seen, where the heck was she anyway? He looked around but still didn't see her, though he did start to feel the hair on the back of his neck stand on end. Usually that happened when vampires were about to rise.

Curious, he looked back to see how far the kid had gotten and well... Not very far at all. She was huddled by one of the catacombs, curled up in a ball, crying into her hands quietly, but still loud enough for him and any other monster to hear. He quirked his eyebrow, this little thing was helpless... Oh gosh, what was that uncomfortable feeling in the pit of his stomach? It wasn't hunger, well, he was hungry, but this was something else.

He shook it off for now and let out a heavy sigh. "Bloody hell, do you want to get eaten? Because I could arrange that for you." He asked in a sarcastic, blunt tone.

Was he really not scary enough to get her to leave this place? He was a fricken vampire! Threatening to eat her! He saw the girl shake her head, then let out another sob. The way she was all curled up in a frightened little ball made her look so dang tiny, like he could swallow her whole even. Wait, could he... ? He vaguely heard about vampires doing such things, but never done it himself, or seen it done. Confusingly, he didn't feel the chip zap him for thinking of such things.

"You sure now? Because a one legged blind vampire on drugs could catch you at this rate." He mocked with another draw.

Another sob, this one more ugly than the last, that feeling also came back, stronger. "P-please... Don't h-hurt me..." The poor dear pleaded to him, rubbing her eyes clear just enough to look up at him.

Oh god, he knew what this feeling was now... It was guilt, it was bloody guilt, probably mixed with some shame. The way the child looked up at him made him feel terrible, a coward, bullying a helpless orphan. That wasn't who he was, he fought slayers for the sport, for the thrill and danger. There was no thrill here... The poor thing was just a helpless little girl who wanted to visit her mother's grave and he was an asshole for scaring her for the sport.

He slowly crouched down to her level, as much as he could anyway and took a deep breath, his face shifting back to normal. "I'm not going to." He muttered, feeling a bit pained to say it. He wasn't one to not hurt people, he at least had a snack. But there was almost something in him that... even without this blasted chip, he'd probably deem her boring and leave her be.

She looked confused, as if she didn't expect the tone shift. He didn't expect it either. "Y-you're not...? B-but..." She shivered, probably from fear.

"But what?" He snapped a bit, not aggressively, but more so annoyed. This earned him a frightened whine and the girl hid her head under her arms, trembling more violently.

"S-sorry...Si-sir" She said between some sniffling. "T-thank you f-for... Not hurt-hurting me." She added, but still had the waterworks on.

Spike rolled his eyes, this girl was almost annoyingly polite. "Yeah yeah, it's whatever, why are you still crying? I'm not even doing anything." He said, spreading his arms out to emphasis his point.

She flinched and froze up, he wasn't very good at this whole... comforting someone thing. He usually just left them or drained them. He couldn't nor did he really want to do either of those things here. He let out a sigh as he heard the girl apologize again, but otherwise he ignored it. Instead he perked up when he thought he heard some noises nearby.

"Shhh, I heard something." He told her and stood up to get a better look.

Sure enough, an arm was reaching out of one of the graves. Not the girl's mother thankfully, but some other random person. It was a freshly turned vampire, awaking for it's first time. It'd be hungry and wouldn't hesitate to attack the child. He frowned and dropped his cigarette, stepping on it afterwards to put the fire out. What to do what to do... He could fight it off, he was no Buffy, sure, but he was a seasoned vampire and thankfully this dang chip let him fight undead and demons.

Just as he was preparing to fight, another arm popped out of a different grave, then another, followed by a forth. He wasn't afraid of the fight, but he couldn't actively prevent all four of them from going for the kid. Dang it... He'd have to think of something else all the while trying not to think too hard on why he cared so much in the first place.

Spike took a few pressing moments to think, what to do what to do.... His stomach growled hungrily then, empty and yearning to be filled. That circled him back to his previous thought of devouring the child whole, if she was eaten by him, no one else could eat her. There was a way for vampires to do that without harming their victim, especially since their bodies were not meant to process solid food much anyway, even though Spike himself still indulged in plenty of strong tasting human dishes. It was worth a try, plus he was sure the chip would keep him from accidentally hurting the kid.

"Right, change of plans, I am going to eat you." Spike announced as the four vampires got their head and shoulders out of their graves.

"Wh-what? Wait, p-please-" The girl started to protest as Spike picked her up. She didn't really struggle much, mostly just cried. He ignored her words and tears, he had no time to try to make her feel better. Instead, he opened his mouth and swiftly stuffed her upper half inside, effectively silencing her. Well... that was a good trick to know for the future. She remained frozen, possibly petrified of what was about to happen. He did hope it was a better fate than being bitten and drained of blood though.

Spike tipped his head back, surprised to notice that the little human tasted rather delicious! He could get used to that. Did this mean he could taste people without hurting them? That could be interesting to experiment with later. For now, he had a little orphan to protect, so the blonde vampire took a strong, hefty swallow. It was all he really needed, the girl soon slipping down into his throat, out of sight and out of his mouth. She did get sort of stuck in his chest though, he felt her shift a little bit next to his lungs but was otherwise motionless.

With a roll of his eyes, he swallowed again, easing the young one down into his belly and forcing the air out. He let out a sudden belch, getting another taste of the human. Oh gosh did that hit the spot! He felt pleasantly full and warm inside, with the bonus of having to not actually hurt the kid! The vampire licked his lips with a content hum, giving the bulge in his middle a good few pats. He could definitely get used to this.

He was soon broken out of his bliss when the four vampires surrounded him, looking none too friendly.

"We want that snack, hand her over." One of them said in a threatening tone. the others looking equally malicious.

Spike blinked, hand still on his gut. "Right... see, about that, I personally believe in..." He trailed off, before his hand moved from his stomach, to the stake in his coat. He then swiftly jabbed it in the vampire to his right. "... Finder's keepers!" He exclaimed with a laugh as the vampire he staked turned to dust.

The remaining three grew angry then and attacked Spike.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Lilly wasn't quite sure what to think as she slid down into the vampire's soft belly. He was scary and not exactly the nicest person she ever met, she also knew he was some kind of monster of sorts, apparently one that ate up children? He chased her and terrified her seemingly on purpose, but yet, he did nothing to actually hurt her. His behavior was confusing to the girl, unsure if she could trust him or not. He did later say he wasn't going to hurt her and had so far stayed true to that promise.

The weird man's belly was also rather cozy. Sure, she was technically trapped in him, but the walls cradled her harmlessly, almost hugging her even. The way he acted seemed... concerned about something, like he saw something. Perhaps he wasn't the only monster here?

That proved true as the young girl overheard his exchange with other monsters, then felt movement! Lots of movement. They were fighting over her, though it seemed like she was kind of already... claimed? Unless they planned to make him throw her up. She let out a nervous whimper then, they seemed meaner than he was, so for the time being, she rather stay where she was. As the blonde beast defended himself and little Lilly, she stayed curled up and still, letting the plush, snug stomach keep her cushioned from all the jerks and movement from her devourer. It was a little dizzying, but if she closed her eyes, it helped.

Eventually, everything went still, but he still seemed to be standing, so that was a good sign.

"Hah, at this rate I'll be the first Slayer vampire!" He exclaimed around her in glee, sounding quite proud of himself. He also referred to himself as a vampire, so at least Lilly knew what he was.

She then felt pressure against her, firm, powerful pressure, moving in a circular motion. Soon she realized it must be him rubbing his belly. It was a little harder than she'd like, lightly squishing her around in his gut, though she realized she was more or less just along for the ride. One particularly hard squish against his spine made her squeak. It didn't hurt, his belly was too soft for that, but she did wish he'd be a bit more gentle about it.

He paused then, he must have heard her. With a faint whimper, she curled up in a tight ball, she didn't want to make him mad.

"So uh... are you alright in there? Couldn't help but notice you're awfully quiet." He commented as the belly rubs started up again, though this time he was more gentle about it.

Maybe he noticed that he was being a bit too rough? It seemed like it, she wasn't sure how else to explain the change in behavior. It was a small thing, but combined with his question, if she read between the lines, it meant he cared about her. The young one smiled then and snuggled against his hand, starting to become less afraid of him. Perhaps he was secretly nice, but struggled with showing it.

"I'm a-alright. Thank you." She replied, managing to keep the stuttering down.

The belly rubs paused then. "Wait, you're not still blubbering? You do realize I did consume you, right? You're in my stomach, Tidbit."

Lilly couldn't help but giggle a bit, moving around slowly to get comfortable in the vampire's tummy. "You also protected me from the monsters." She pointed out.

There was silence in response, at least at first. Lilly took the time to relax in the gentle folds of his belly, figuring he probably wasn't going to spit her out anytime soon and she was tired anyway, she oddly found herself not really wanting to leave.

"Well, I mean... only because I wanted you for myself. You are rather delicious." He soon explained, though he sounded like he struggled just to say that. The child wasn't sure why he was acting so weird and trying to make her afraid of him again, but it wasn't working. The more he tried, the less scary he actually seemed.

"Wait, are you snuggling my guts? Oh bloody hell...." She heard him say and couldn't help but giggle some more.

"Sorry, does it hurt? It's just... your tummy is so soft." She sheepishly explained, hoping she wasn't hurting him with her snuggliness.

"It does hurt! You know what that does to a vampire's pride? You're like a bloody goldfish cracker, the snack that smiles back."

His pride, well, she wasn't sure how to fix that. It was hard to be scared of him now, despite how she felt just ten minutes ago. Why did he even want to be feared? If he was a nice monster, it seemed to her that he wouldn't want to scare people. He was rather confusing.

"Sorry sir, but you did protect me. And... your tummy makes me feel safe and comfy, like I'm being hugged all around." She explained, wiggling a little bit in her snug confines in a happy, giddy manner.

She heard him growl, apparently vampires could do that, but it didn't scare her. "Fine, but you're staying in there until I decide to let you out. So don't bother asking." He told her, still trying to sound tough.

Lilly smiled but bit back the giggle that tried to come out, trying not to make him anymore irritated by her comfort than he already was. "Okay..." She said, sounding sleepy though it could be misunderstood for being disappointed.

She relaxed and sunk into the squishy flesh around her, tiredness starting to really take over. The young one murmured happily, hearing the stomach around her let out a gentle gurgle, also sounding happy to be filled with a yummy little human. Soon, the vampire started to rub his belly again, being more gentle than before. Lilly wasn't sure how long he planned to keep her, would he let her out in the morning? Or perhaps he'd keep her longer, a few days perhaps. She didn't really mind, being an orphan, she had nowhere to go, his belly actually served as a nice little home for her. Soon she felt him start to walk, judging by the gentle sway she felt now.

"Thank you mister..." She mumbled out without really thinking, shortly before she drifted off to a peaceful, cozy sleep.
