three months. three whole months.
it had been three months since george moved in with dream and sapnap. three months since he moved in with his boyfriend and sapnap. three months since he realized maybe things weren't as fine as they seemed.
he knew them both well—knew them better than he knew anyone which is why he should've known what was going on, why he shouldn't have been fooled so easily, but he trusted them. he trusted sapnap.
sapnap had always been cocky, always been a little arrogant. it was his brand, whether it was directly to his friends or to random people online but he had the room to act that way because he could prove himself. somehow someway sapnap always followed through on his word.
if only george had remembered what he said only a few days before george moved in. if only he'd remembered that sapnap said he'd get dream in the end. if only he'd paid a little more attention.
maybe then he wouldn't have left to go to the store when he knew sapnap was hanging out in dream's room. maybe then he would've been more overbearing. maybe then he would've tried harder to keep his best friend away from dream. in the end however it didn't really matter.
they needed eggs and bacon for the next day and george had offered to go and get them so off he went to the store. it was normal, almost so painstakingly normal that day that he didn't think anything of it when he left. sapnap had gone for groceries the last time and dream the time before, meaning this time it was george's turn.
perhaps it was just a bit convenient for sapnap that george would be gone for about an hour and perhaps it was perfect that dream didn't even realize the brit was gone.
the blonde thought george was up in his room editing a video or doing some mundane and normal task. he had been busy when the brit left and sapnap had been messing with him all night so needless to say he was a bit preoccupied. george had told sapnap he was going to groceries not dream and maybe just maybe that was all a part of sapnap's plan.
dream didn't know george had gotten home—not until he heard the sound of the egg carton hitting the floor, but at that point it was too late. george had already seen them.
the brit was in the kitchen doorway, staring at the two of them, shock written across his face. he'd already seen too much.
he'd seen the way dream was up on the counter, sapnap slotted between his legs. he'd seen how dream was leaning down into sapnap's pull, how dream had one hand tangled in the younger's hair and the other balled in the front of sapnap's shirt, both tightly woven in to hold sapnap in place.
dream was keeping sapnap close, way too close. sapnap didn't seem to mind. that was clear in the way his hands were grasping dream's hips, holding dream's body almost directly against his own as they kissed.
they were kissing? why were they kissing?
when sapnap pulled back from dream after he heard the sound of the eggs hitting the floor he wore a smirk like no other. dream had a face of pure shock as he looked up and saw george, but sapnap... he seemed smug almost as if this were a situation of his own design.
the texan made eye contact with george as he leaned down again and slowly pressed a kiss against the opposite side of dream's jaw, moving slowly towards his neck with a line of chaste kisses.
both dream and george were both too stunned by how bold sapnap was to do anything, even when george finally broke the silence.
"dream?" george's voice shook as he stared at his boyfriend, all the while sapnap continued with his ministrations.
dream gentle nudged sapnap and the younger sighed. sapnap slowly slid his hands down dream's thighs as he backed up, hesitating for just a moment before took a few steps back and leaned against the island, his eyes traveling over dream one more time before settling on george.
sapnap was so damn cocky in every one of his movements. he knew he had won. it was clear in the way he stayed. he stayed right there alongside the two people whose relationship he had just so confidently tore to pieces.
dream was his.
and dream had admitted it. he'd told sapnap time and time again that he thought they would be good together so it was no surprise they'd ended up here. if anything it felt right. it lit a fire in sapnap's chest as he watched dream climb off the counter and gently take a step towards george.
this is what he'd been waiting for. this is why he'd spent so much time trying to understand why dream and george were even together. their relationship was barely even a relationship. sapnap wanted what they had and he wanted to make it better.
"i can't even-" george put a hand up, stopping dream from coming any closer to him. he was in disbelief as he stared dream down. what was going on? "i can't even believe you right now."
"i was-" dream peaked back at sapnap, eyes lingering on him.
sapnap was watching dream now, but he was listening to george. he didn't need to look at george to know he was angry and sapnap supposed it was a rightfully placed anger, but in the end it didn't even matter. what mattered was dream's reaction and right at that moment any doubts sapnap had in his plan left him because the way dream looked back at him reassured him of everything he had been feeling.
dream was his and he... he was dream's.
"i was going to tell you, george." dream swallowed, slowly looking back towards george, but in reality george didn't care about dream in that moment. he didn't blame dream.
he blamed sapnap.
it made sense now. recently sapnap had been getting bolder whether it be falling asleep in dream's bed randomly or being touchy with him when it didn't make sense to be. he was proving to george what he said he would months ago and somehow george was only just seeing it.
"what's your problem?" george snapped suddenly, eyes glaring holes into sapnap. he was suddenly angry. he'd been with dream for so long now and all of a sudden sapnap had taken interest in him?
sapnap sighed, pulling his gaze off of dream and finally giving george his full attention. "my problem?" he seemed to think it over for a long moment before shrugging, "don't seem to have one. i mean i got dream like i said i would. i never lied about that."
"you knew we were together!" george shouted, stepping towards sapnap who didn't even move as he got closer. "you knew we've been together for long time! you- you- i can't even-"
"so tell him you love him, george," sapnap said calmly. the very same smirk was plastered on his face as he leaned back against the counter as he watched george's expression turn from one of anger to defeat. "make him feel loved, george. if you're together then act like it, hm? or maybe... maybe let someone who actually loves him take over. maybe let me take care of my dream."
