Summary:

Cottagecore Tadashi and Kei own a farm and they're soft

Work Text:

Warm sun fanned over the kitchen, the streams of light resting on the counters this lazy Saturday morning. Soft instrumental music plays as a green haired boy flutters about. An orange tabby cat rests comfortably on the windowsill, its tail hanging over the edge. The smell of bread and lavender hangs in the air as the green haired boy continues to make breakfast in the kitchen.

The kettle squeals and two cups of coffee are poured, and blueberry jam toast is put on a plate. The meal is placed on a tray along with a small vase lavender. Carefully Tadashi brings the try to the bedroom.

This room, like the kitchen has sun streams fanning the room. The window is open, and a small breeze blows the curtain. The bed was messy and not yet made. A blond man lays there only just waking up. His glares at the ceiling as he comes to wakefulness.

"Mornin' Kei," greets Tadashi.

The blond-haired man grunts in response.

Smiling, Tadashi places the try down on the bead side table and climbs back into the bed. He grabs the tray and places it on Kei's lap. Moving to Kei's side, Tadashi pucks up a piece of toast. Kei still groggy from sleep, sips on his coffee.

The two bask in the warmth of the morning as the town begins to wake. Outside the sound of birds is carried through the window. Bees make their way towards flowers and owls make their way back to the trees. Trees and bushes rustle with the breeze.

The two men finished their breakfast. They shared a shower, washing each other's back and exchanging a few sleepy kisses. They dry off and put on working clothes.

Going into the living room, the Tv is turned on and the cat has moved to the top of the couch. The two settle in to watch morning cartoons before Tadashi and Kei have to go out and feed the animals. A knock at the front door alerts Kei and Tadashi of Hinata and Kageyama’s arrival. Tadashi gets up from the couch and greets the two at the door. Kei hears them talking about something before the door is closed the Tadashi comes back.

“Time to feed the sheep Kei,”

The backyard is filled with plants. Right by the back door there is a small veggie patch. Path wats branch out from the back door leading to various places on their land. A path leads to the sheep paddock, while another leads to the chicken coop. Other paths could take you to the fruit orchard a while away or down to the food and tools shed. The paths are lined with ground cover and the two men's land is covered in greenery, blending them into the surrounding land.

Groaning, Kei thinks about letting the animals starve for the day. Kei puts on his boots and gloves and grabs a hay block which is by the shed out the back. Making his way down the stone path to the paddocks, Kei sees Hinata and Kegeyama in the distance tending to the orchard. Kei smiles slightly as he watches as sheep make their way casually to the gate. Two more trips later, all the sheep have been fed.

Tadashi watches Kei make his first trip and watches the show of his husband flexing and picking up hay. Tadashi making himself useful before he jumps Kei's bones, fills a bucket with grass seeds. He makes his way down another stone path towards the chicken coop.

"Mornin' ladies," Tadashi grins.

The chickens click excitedly as the sight of Tadashi. Wasting no time Tadashi dumps the bucket of seeds and makes his way to the fence gate. He enters the gate and makes his way towards the coop making sure to not stand on any loitering chickens. Opening the door Tadashi grabs the basket hanging on the wall and makes his rounds collecting eggs.

After checking all the nests and the coop rafters, Tadashi makes his way back to the house.

Kei waits for Tadashi as the back door, and they make their way back to the shed. Kei and Tadashi grab watering cans and clippers before they go to town on the garden.

They go back inside for another shower over an hour later, it was now noon. They two men share the shower again, making sure the other had not missed any spots. The cat has now made its way to the bay window overlooking the front yard.

"The sheep need to be sheared again soon," complains Kei.

"I'll call Daichi later and ask him to come over with Suga and their new pup next weekend" Tadashi answered.

The two men lay on the couch, tired from the early start and the exertion. The cat lays across the top of the couch.
