The same time as yours.

Notes:

I hope that you enjoy this chapter. It has been awhile since I read the book so I am sorry of there are any problems with the time line.

Chapter Text

Miguel felt his phone vibrate in his pocket, he did not know who would be texting him right now. He was in the middle of class.

Why on earth would anyone be texting him right now?

He looked up to see what Mr. Stevenson was doing.

He was looking at his laptop which meant that Miguel could briefly check his phone without being caught. He would just have to be subtle about it.

He briefly glanced at his phone and saw that it was Connor that had texted him.

It had been a few weeks since the last time he had heard from Connor, it must be pretty important if Connor was texting him in the middle of class.

He put his phone back into his pocket and went up to Mr. Stevenson desk and asked him if he could go to the bathroom, Mr. Stevenson said yes.

Connor smiled at the text on his phone then he put it back in his pocket, the seniors and juniors had lunch at the same time. So that meant that he would be able to tell Zoe, that Miguel was going to pick him up, and that she would not need to worry about taking him home.

He walked into the cafeteria and looked around for his younger sister, when he spotted her he went over to her and told her

“Hey, Zoe you don’t need to take me home today. I am going to the ice cream place with a friend from Hanover.”

Zoe looked up at his with a suspicious look on her face and said

“Which friend?”

“Miguel. I don’t think you know him.”

“Ok.” Zoe said, then she went back to talking with her friends.

Evan walked around the library looking for a book, when he heard Connor say

“Hey Evan, here is your letter back. I am sorry I got so mad.”

“Thank you.” Evan said, hoping that he did not sound too nervous.

Connor smiled at him and walked away.

He looked down at the crumpled letter and hoped that Connor had not told his sister what he had read.

Miguel pulled into the highschool parking lot.

Since school had gotten out around thirty minutes ago, there were a lot of parking spaces left for him to park in.

Shortly after he did he saw Connor walk towards his car, he unlocked the door to let him in.

“Hey.” Connor said.

“Hi.”

Then they drove to the ice cream shop.
