Interesting

Summary:

Midoriya goes to take the exam and has a few words to say. This is just the next step to show that anyone can be hero.

Notes:

2nd part of this series. This will be written at random and may not follow canon, fyi. Also, yes Midoriya will swear. A lot in my next writings.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Midoriya pants as he removes the final piece of trash from the beach, standing on top of the fridge. He watches as the sun rises, a smile on his face. It was a silly thing to do, but at least he has done something good.

He had only a short amount of time, three hours, to get ready for his exam. Midoriya takes one more look at the beach and jumps off the fridge. He was ready.

Today was the day. Today is the day he applies to UA and proves that even a quirkless person can be a hero.

“Deku!”

Great.

“Stay out of my way,” Bakugo snarls at him, making Midoriya roll his eyes.

“Stay out of mine,” Midoriya responds, causing Bakugo to freeze, “You’re a distraction, Bakugo. Don’t you remember what you said? Distractions are only a menace to hero society.”

Midoriya walks away without looking back at his old friend, now just someone he simply knows. Bakugo Katsuki is now a person he just happens to know since he was kids.

Midoriya takes his seat, staring ahead blankly. Not even his mom knew he was here, he lied that he would be at another school. He ignored that Bakugo was now next to him, mostly focused on the presenter. Present Mic. While Midoriya may look stoic, he was actually excited to see Present Mic in person. He was an actual genuine hero from the research he did a few months ago.

Midoriya had signed up to end up in either two classes: Hero or Support Course. If he got in the support course class, then he could make any type of gadget he’d like and practice. Then, he would work hard to get into the hero course. He already had blueprints of what he’d like to create, what could benefit him when out helping people.

(He was also starting to question if Yuuei was the right hero school to be at)

“And you in the back!” A voice sounded, breaking Midoriya from his thoughts, “Your constant mumbling is a distraction to other students and I. If you cannot keep quiet, then leave.”

Midoriya just raises an eyebrow and scoffs. Without hesitation, he replies, “If simple mumbling distracts you, I would be scared to have you as a hero in the streets. Any little thing would distract you then. How about focusing on the presentation being given and don’t jump to conclusions. That good with you, one percenter?”

There were gasps, whispers starting to fill the arena, but Midoriya wasn’t backing down. He would not be a scared little boy anymore. He’s tired of being a fucking rug. He would stand up for himself, no matter who it is.

“Anyways, let us all calm down,” Present Mic says as the room got tense, “We have more to go over and then you have your exams. Now, as I was saying-“

Midoriya looks back at Present Mic and listens to how the practicals will be. He looks down at the sheets and starts to come up with plans in his head, glad he was allowed one support item with him. He could tell from the designs that the zero pointer would be the largest, and that dodging is the smart idea. However, why would they add it if it is to be dodged?

Yuuei High sure does know how to make the blood pump.

“And remember our school motto and make sure to give it your all! Plus Ultra!”

Plus Ultra his ass. Midoriya just rolls his eyes as the other students chants it, wanting to get this exam over with.

He flew through the exam, answering each question without hesitation. Not only did he prepare himself physically, he made sure to study his ass off. He was already falling behind when it comes to a quirk, he would not fall back academically. Midoriya was the first to finish, turning in his exam to the shocked proctor and walks off to the changing rooms.

Time to prepare for the biggest part of the exam.

The Practicals.

“A quirkless kid?” Aizawa hums as he looks down at the students who registered.

“It seems so,” Nedzu hums as he looks at the file, looking at the screen, watching how the robots were being prepared.

“Do you think he has any chance?” Aizawa asks as he sits down, ignoring the coughing coming from Toshinori.

“Well, we’d have to see. We just opened up for quirkless kids, and most are applying for 1C and below. He’s the only one to apply for 1A/B and 1C,” Nedzu comments and grins as he reads through his file. He could already point out the many lies there were on the file.

“He has a support item registered,” Aizawa points out, “A baton? That’s it? How is that going to help him?”

“Now now, let’s not question him. He seems like a bright child,” Nedzu says, seeing the students starting to gather outside of the gates for each ground.

“Should we even be allowing this? This is dangerous and liability,” Toshinori speaks up, looking at the other teachers for support.

Aizawa rolls his eyes and shuts the folder, picking up the next folder and hums. A few teachers voiced their concerns, but he ignores them. He will admit, he’s very interested to see what this student has to offer. After all, it’s always those you least expect.

“And lets start the practicals! What are you waiting for?! Hero work doesn’t have an alarm! Look at that! That green haired student has started and already has twenty points!”

Notes:

I just want Quirkless Midoriya to show he too can kick ass. Also, I have a lot of anger towards All Might.
