Work Text:
It was a long, long week. Well, these past few weeks have been long if you’re being honest.
You haven’t gotten the chance to see diluc, your feet feel like they’re burning and your muscles could give out at any moment.
After defeating the last few hilichurls you couldn’t help but feel like crying, you’re so stressed out with these commissions. They’ve been giving you too much recently, and you’ve just barely made it out of some of them alive.
You just couldn’t wait to be in Diluc’s arms again, safe and sound. So you decided to get the rest of the commissions done.
And that was hard.
.
.
You stumbled through the doors of dawn winery, and you couldn’t help the soft smile that grazed your face, you were home.
Diluc, who stumbled down stairs, sprinted towards you with bone crushing hug. Although the gesture was sweet, it really hurt you at the moment. “Diluc, dear, could you ease up a bit?” And with that he did, with an apology fresh on his tongue.
”I’m glad to see you as well, I’m sorry I couldn’t be here sooner. Those commissions were really... hard.” You shuddered remembering the Cryo abyss mage you fought. And he took your hand and squeezed it, as a way to show you comfort.
“Never apologize for that dear. Now come, you seem tired and I know a way I can help.” You tried to protest that you certainly weren’t tired, though Diluc was having none of it. He dragged you to the thing nearest to him, a couch.
And plopped you down on his lap. He placed his hand on top of your head and gently pushed it closer to his chest. The other hand was loosely wrapped around your waist.
And his chin was resting upon your head, with a kiss and a smile. You couldn’t help but close your eyes, perhaps you were a bit tired.
“Dear I’m sorry these weeks have been so hard on you and your body. I hope I can at least hope I can provide you some comfort.” You were full on smiling now, albeit on the edge of falling asleep, you smiled.
”In your arms my dear,” you started, your voice was low, to say the least. You must’ve really needed this. “I always feel safe.”
And shortly after you fell asleep. Diluc noticed this and carried to upstairs in your shared bed. And he held you.
He held you until he slept as well.
