Work Text:
As soon as you came in, the atmosphere became absolutely intoxicating. The sight of colorful people, the continuous hubbub, the pleasant sound of music, the appetising food, the smell of wine… Every single one of those things seemed like a promise to give you the time of your life. However, as you walked further into the spacious room, your eyes developed a will of their own as they fell on a specific figure in the distance.
Inexplicably drawn to her, you walked her direction, feeling like everything else that surrounded you became dull and numb in comparison to her. Destiny, said a little voice in your head.
Violet eyes were cast on you, hiding beneath a beautiful black lace mask that was nothing compared to the mage’s stunning beauty. You could immediately tell she possessed a special chaos, it nearly made your fingers tingle you felt it so stongly.
“Well” Her voice gained consistency amongst the loud murmur of the ball the closer you got. “And who might you be, wlaking here like you own the place?”
You smirked, somehow knowing it was a sort of compliment coming from her.
“My name is Y/N, my lady” You gracefully bowed. “Would you like to dance with me?”
“You don’t even know me” Her voice was sweet like honey, enticing like a forbidden spell that you couldn’t escape. Despite her tone, the way her eyes watched you made you think she shared that strange feeling with you.
“I would like to”
“Charming”
In spite of it all, she offered you her hand. You delicately took it, accompanying her with you to the center of the room. The mage smiled a little as she held on to you and started swaying.
You watched her in awe as you danced together, moving in perfect harmony. Destiny, you mind repeated. It was certainly the first time you felt this strong connection with anyone, not to mention someone you had just met. As you took in every detail of her features, you let your body move on its own as your thoughts wandered. Blood red lips. Inquisitive violet eyes. A smirk that spoke for itself. What could her name be?
“My name is Yennefer” She suddenly spoke, squeezing against you.
“Are you in my head, sorceress?”
“I don’t need to be in your head”
Her hand tightened against yours, silently speaking in a language unknown to you until that very moment. Yennefer’s eyes were fixed on your lips, which curved in a smile as you treasured every second of that dance.
