Dark hair replaced by silver, facial aging lines, yet still as tall and foreboding

Summary:

a poem about a kiss and Lady Q and her son said no about being in it.

Work Text:

The kiss,

is a supernova,

it blasts everything away in it's wake,

destroys,

renews,

silenced.

The kiss,

is a beauty,

nothing is awake, (Only Q and Picard)

stories,

news,

defiant.

The kiss,

It's standing in the starlight,

floating in the darkness,

surrounded by stars,

fleeing asteroids,

gas planets,

planets,

worm holes,

black holes,

relics of the before,

with inactive starships,

and spaceships lingering in space.

Husks of what once carried life all but abandoned.

Standing in the center of a new born galaxy,

a new born solar system,

building blocks of planets colliding, getting larger, larger, and larger,

Colliding with a protoplanet, throwing them out, keeping some of them inside,

proto-planets waiting to be sprinkled on by other ingredients

gas planets forming, moving, twirling, all in orbit capturing--

planets becoming moons once caught by the gravity.

Majestic,

as a well crafted asteroid,

that acts as a prison for naughty Q,

only this majestic is kinder, not as vicious, it's something so consumable,

It acts as a pacifier to Q and lets him stand about enjoying the experience.

Been a long time coming,

Six times Picard demanded that he leave the bridge,

and the one time Picard didn't demand that Q leave.

It's soothing,

comforting,

gentle,

kind,

still.

It's calm,

renewing,

and passionate.

(Not a stormy and vengeful sea;

 full of disgruntled,

fear,

terror,

some reluctance,

from one side. -- Q would have enjoyed that, too)

and well cared for nurtured by time and distance.

It's a spark of life.

it's everything that Q ever wanted from a physical kiss.

It is the kiss that brings about the start of a new civilization, (ancient and new alike)

It is the kiss that brings about the doom of a entire civilization about to fall apart and be reborn.

It's the kiss that is made at the end of the world.

It's the kiss at the discovery of ancient artifact being revealed,

It's the kiss at having discovered the artifact at all,

It's the kiss in finding a site that held great archeological meaning and they found it together by accident.

It's the kiss that makes Q make that world come into being (Q a human, Picard a human as well)

that lives.

It's the kiss,

that comes after clumsily falling down a hill,

throwing mud at the other, and then discovering---

one of them is holding a ancient vulcan pot,

that dates back to when Romulans departed Vulcan and started their search for Romulus,

And they only fell because Q shoved Picard while arguing over a map yanking it back and forth about finding treasure.

(Picard's view of treasure is the container)

(Q's view of treasure is the gold:

the joy,

the glow that emits from it,

the artifact itself,

and the look on Picard's face)

it's the kiss of victory,

it's the kiss from romance,

it's the kiss of love.

it's the kiss that seals the deal,

it's the kiss that beats the purest of ones ever recorded in history,

(Even Buttercup and Westley's kiss)

it's the kiss that beats tongues battling for dominance -- no battle, no fight, just lips touching lips.

Space isn't wasted between them,

Q is holding Picard with his fingers on his back.

Picard is holding on to Q's cheeks.

This kiss something so daring

-- mad even! But this man wasn't mad --,

shocking,

Called reckless by people who knew how dangerous Q could be.

No responsibility,

no duty to other people,

no need to think about other lifeforms,

no prime directive to carefully consider,

just doing what Picard always wondered would be like if he had done it,

Curious.

Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back.

It is/was/will be/would be/could be/has been/ the best kiss in the history of Q continuum.

A lone janitor Q cleans up after all the junk the Q continuum threw at the moment when it occurred.

(No one knows why they have a janitor Q cleaning up after them,

Q does,

he always anticipated Q's beloved toy would reciprocate Q's feelings for him,

it's still the most beautiful thing that has happened in his lifetime,

It happened long ago and the mess all over the place was enough to cause irritation as no one cleaned it,

That mess was around for thousands of years and the toys couldn't clean up after them

Q, Q's friend, the one who visited him when Q was powerless and a human, cleaned it up)

Q and Picard are still kissing.

The Q continuum gets greatly concerned by that by the next turn of the Q millennium.

Q's friend is cackling.

Q wouldn't let a kiss like that end if he were in Q's shoes.
