Chapter 1: The Prologue: Asagiri Kingdom

Chapter Text

Prologue:

The story begins with a young boy...whose sweeping red-locks almost matched the crimson petals of a camellia; the sacred flower of the Asagiri Kingdom.
King Mori, the boy’s father, was a merciless ruler.
No one dared to defy him unless they wanted to walk on a blood-stained path. He used to be a good king, but after the death of his beloved queen, his heart died alongside her—
or perhaps he never had one at all.
He refused to acknowledge the young prince, deeming he was valueless and disgraceful.
Maybe it was because he was a spitting image of his mother by sharing her striking blue eyes and the same fiery red-hair the King once treasured dearly.
Resentment grew like thorny vines within the King’s chest and his violet eyes became clouded with spite.
When the Young Prince turned seven, his ability manifested.
It was capable of great calamity and quite fitting given how powerful the boy’s parents were, but Mori, however, was not pleased.
The king became so paranoid the prince would attempt to kill him and steal the throne in the near future.
One night, Kouyou, the late queen’s sister, realized how unstable the King was and fled with the boy, fearing what Mori would do to his own son.
And feigning as a caring father, Mori decided to hold a festival each year on the prince’s birthday, hoping one day the Lost Prince of Asagiri would return, although Mori hoped that he never did.
“That boy will bring ruin to this Kingdom,” Mori muttered into his cup before he took a long sip of golden sake, relishing the flowery taste on his tongue and watched the sun disappear amongst the stars. Over his kingdom.
Beneath the same stars, deep in the forest Kouyou raised the young prince as her own where she hid him in a cottage; obscured by an enchanted fog and erased the young prince’s memories to leave behind his scornful past.
“Oyasumi, my flower,“ Kouyou sang each night, gently brushing stray hair out of the sleeping young prince’s eyes.

Maybe one day Chuuya will return back to his destined role as crown prince of the Asagiri Kingdom.

Notes:

I have a good amount of this story outlined from last year although sadly don't have the motivation to write this now ksdhasj so here's the only finished chapter/prologue for now, (or more like a brief fanfiction starter) so maybe one day it would be finished lol
