Weight of the timelines
Adrien was thinking, about the whole Snake miraculous incident. He had memories from 25000 timelines in his head. He failed his lady so many times, but it was better this way. Temporary miraculouses are just used once or twice in months and he knows that Chat Noir is always needed. Yes he always says that to himself that Ladybug needs him.
Adrien failed at that day. Aspik failed that day too, but Chat Noir never failed. But then why does he feel like he was rejected? Again.
He saw how Ladybug acted around Adrien, flirty, nervous and that big blush on her face. He made a joke and she laughed. Later he made the same joke as Chat Noir and she didn't laugh. Plus she said they don't need Chat and at an another akuma attack she said the opposite. It really hurt him. Why was Adrien better than Chat in her eyes? What did he do as Adrien to gain her affection? She doesn't even know him.
But as Chat Noir he went over the moon to gain her affection and trust as her partner and friend. Yes he did the same as Aspik too, but now that he thinks back he wished that he focused more on the battle. It was after 10.000 times that he started to fight, but he never saw the solution.
It hurt him that he wasn't enough. It hurt him that he was rejected again and again as Chat. It hurt him that he was so blind to accept the miraculous when he already has Plagg, the best kwami. It hurt him that he replaced Chat with Aspik. It hurt him that he failed so many times, that he couldn't prove his worth. It hurt him that he couldn't realize that Luka was a better choice as the Snake holder.
Luka is a nice guy and he really liked him. When he didn't flirt with Ladybug he tried his charms on the boy and he actually liked it. Ironic that the boy he sees a friend actually accepts his flirty nature and jokes as both Chat and as Adrien.
And it hurt him that he gave up being Chat Noir. It was so easy to change Plagg to Sass. The ring to the bracelet. Destruction to rewind. He was a nice kwami, but he wasn't Plagg, who once gave a great advice, but he refused to hear it. His love to Ladybug was blind and he needs to tone it down. She likes someone else anyway.
"Kid you didn't say anything. I need some cheese!" Plagg pretended to be hungry. This gained Adrien's attention.
"I fed you three camamberts after the fight." Then he sighed. "Plagg I am sorry."
"Why?" The kwami asked.
"I was so excited and blind when Ladybug offered me, a miraculous. I thought I can gain her love as Adrien, I didn't focus to the battle. I needed ten thousad second chances to just focus to the battle and I failed them anyway. And she loves someone else." He started to think again about that but he shook his head.
"What I wanted to say is that you are my kwami and Chat Noir is the best version of myself. Aspik was a joke you know. As Chat I can use my abilities and be useful. And you gave me freedom from this prison.
"What exactly happened in those timeloops?" Plagg asked with concern. Adrien started to think logically. The kid was smart but he was too hung upon his crush to see the bigger picture.
"I saw her defeated Plagg. Before Desperada we always won. I saw you dissapointed and jealous that I used a different miraculous. And I get it now. I am better as Chat Noir and I need to learn to think instead of flirting with Ladybug."
