Enchanting Desires

Summary:

Things have become too tame in the "thrilling" life of Asagiri Gen, so he chooses to take up on an Urban Legend.

Stand alone short based off of fanart but can come back later and write a full story if people want it.

Notes:

Hello! Since more people than I expected liked my other short, I am bringing this one as well - this time inspired by the wonderful sketch by BX! I will link their twitter in the bottom notes.

This time Gen is the one under a spell~

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Whenever Gen would present his magic on stage for all to see, the crowd would cheer loudly for each of his successful illusions, but it was never enough . He would drink in all of the cheers he would receive from the screaming crowd but he quickly found out that he was in turn never satisfied. He wanted to feel the adrenaline rush that he used to when he first began learning this practice, where he never knew whether or not his life was in danger with each of his new tricks.

"Why don't you go to the Onsen in the mountains?" A coworker asked Gen one night after a show. Gen continued changing out of his costume without giving their question much thought.

"What are you talking about Kohaku-chan?" He asked, handing his clothes to her. She grabbed them and placed them in a box. Afterwards she made her way back to Gen and put her hands on her hips.

“I’ve heard rumors of a dark entity that looms the mountains, especially near the Onsen. Apparently if you disturb his peace during a full moon, he will attack you.” She moved her arms about as she spoke to add on theatrics and Gen laughed. He placed his shirt over his head and walked across the room.

“Is that so?” He hummed. She rolled her eyes as he walked past her.

“You’re always whining about not having enough ‘excitement’ in your life and you’re into all of that supernatural stuff. So why not go?” Kohaku grabbed her personal items and walked towards the door, with Gen in tow. “Not only that I’m tired of hearing you whine and not do anything about it so there, you’re going.”

Gen did not say anything, only nodding his head in response. He shut the light out in his dressing room and closed the door behind him. As the duo made their ways out to their own vehicles to head home, the illusionist pondered her suggestion.

He had definitely heard something about the Onsen before sure, but never felt it to be believable. It always seemed to be a glorified urban legend that the Onsen was making money off of. But it wouldn’t hurt to check it out, right?

~~
When Gen made it to the Onsen, he was surprised. It looked to be well looked after and sought out, but even with such a strong urban legend surrounding it, it seemed bare of tourists. He stepped through the front doors and checked in. Afterwards he was given his bucket to clean himself, and on his way he looked up into the sky and remembered what Kohaku told him. He smirked and made his way to wash himself.

Afterwards he went to the furthest hot spring in the mountain, one that seemed to sit perfectly in the middle of a cliff and showed the rest of the city from below. Again no one was there which meant his time here would be rather peaceful. He ignored the small pang of disappointment he felt resonated in his chest and got into the hot spring. The water was divine, Gen melting into the perfection position immediately. “Ahhh…” He sighed softly as he sunk in more. He opened his eyes and looked around himself taking in the scenery more. The city lights in the distance glistened off the rocks of the cliff and sparkled in the grass. There was a slight breeze that blew his hair into his face. The bright moon cascaded down and left a warm reflection in the spring water.

Before Gen realized it, an hour had passed by and it was now midnight. He looked around and noticed that the lighting had changed. He glanced up at the moon and found that it had changed into a strong beige color. Its light was much stronger than before, clouding the area around him. He found himself blinking frantically as though it was a fog, and noticed red sparks were flying about. He brought his hands up to rub his eyes but froze when he felt a presence near him. He slowly lowered his arm but found that he had no control of it. He took a deep breath and made his arms go limp.

“What are you doing here.”

A deep charming voice demanded.

He moved his head to the side and sought his gaze onto the owner of the voice, but was caught off guard. Never had Gen ever seen a more beautiful creature. He had glowing bright eyes that shone like rubies in the moonlight. His hair was a mixture of an off-white at the roots and bright green at the ends. It stood up in multiple directions, but it only emphasized his beauty. His teeth were sharp and he had two thunderbolt-like scars crossing both of his eyes and eyebrows. His skin glowed wherever the spring water dripped off of him. In front of him was the most stunning being he had ever lied his eyes on, the moonlight reflecting off of him perfectly. Gen found himself lost for words but quickly got back his composure and smirked at the man.

“Ah, and who must you be~? Are you the ruler of the mountains I’ve heard so much about?” He teased in a sultry tone. The entity did not let go of his arm, but instead got closer to him into the hot spring. Gen felt his heart beat rise but kept on his poker face.

“That does not answer my question.”

“And that doesn’t answer mine~!” The words left his mouth before he could carefully think each one through and he cursed himself for taking him so light-heartedly. He took a deep breath and looked into his eyes. “May I ask your name?”

The entity did not stop staring at Gen, seeming to give off warnings with his glare. Gen could feel the danger permeating off of the man as he got even closer but found himself being drawn in. What was he going to do with him? What were his plans? Was he even real? Was there something in the air or water that was making him hallucinate? Either way Gen wanted to know more.

“Do not test me.”

Gen slowly pressed his held arm into the entity’s grasp and looked him in his eye.

“Do your worst.”

Notes:

And there we go 👀 Just like the one I posted earlier today, this was a short based off of this lovely fanart. Once again once I have more free time, if you people want me to write more I will!
