Fennorian felt fear when his life was turned upside down. Fear when he saw the hunger in their eyes. Even more when he saw the same hunger in his reflection.
He felt sadness when he had to leave his life behind. The risk was too high, being around people. The hunger gnawed at him, so he drove himself away to keep others safe.
He felt hope for the first time as a hand reached out to him. A voice promised that it would be alright. A flask was pressed to his lips, full of blood. That should have scared him. Instead, he felt comfort as he drank deeply.
Comfort was a new feeling. He was wrapped in a blanket, inside a room. How did he get here? It didn’t matter. He was cared for, and over time became close to himself again.
Fennorian felt happiness for the first time in years. He looked at the people that chose him. They were more of a family than he had ever had. He smiled and laughed, sharing this precious moment.
Then it was gone. His saviour was gone. A member of his family. Not even a trace left. He drank from the flask, despite knowing the hunger wasn’t the feeling tearing at his core.
In a room, all alone, he felt it all.
