When Bucky came home from a mission, he expected you to come running at him and attaching yourself to his body like a koala. But what he got instead was nothing.
“Y/N?” he called out for you from the front door. He heard soft murmuring. Maybe you were on the phone or you had someone over? Bucky let out a tired sigh as he set his bag by the door and toed off his shoes. He padded to the living room where he saw no one but you and your eyes were glued to the television.
“Sweethe-”
“Sh! I’m watching!” you snapped at Bucky.
He looked at the tv to see that you were watching teleseryes aka Filipino dramas.He caught you watching them before but he never really paid attention to it.
Onscreen there’s two young girls, one looks normal and the other looks to be made of water?? Bucky made his way around the couch and plopped himself next to you. Eyes on the screen, trying to decipher what was going on. The more he watched as the normal looking girl, who he learned was named Bendita, was bullying her twin sister, the girl made out of water, aka Agua.
Bucky smirked when he saw you shaking your head and muttering something under your breath. He didn’t know if it was English or Tagalog, but you sounded upset. After a dramatic occurence where Bendita gets kidnapped and separated from Agua, a dramatic song plays and it’s a commercial.
You looked to Bucky and smiled, “Hey, babe,” you pecked his lips and cuddled up to him.
He chuckled, “Oh so now you wanna greet me and show me affection.”
You rolled your eyes, “I’m sorry! This show is just so good!”
He shrugged, “I wouldn’t know. I can’t understand what they’re saying.”
You smirked, “Well lucky for you, I can put subtitles on.” You grabbed your remote and clicked on the subtitles option, “Can you read fast enough, old man?”
“Oh that’s it!” Bucky began to tickle your sides causing you to fall onto the ground laughing. His tickles didn’t seize until you cried out for mercy.
“Okay! Mercy! I give! I give!” the tickles faded and you were pulled back onto the couch, “So how was the mis-”
“Sh! The show’s back!” you frowned at Bucky and he snickered.
You both fell into silence as the show continued. Bendita was kidnapped. Agua was lost. Their parents were going crazy looking for both of them.
Twenty minutes later, you looked at Bucky and he was fully immersed in the show. You felt a sense of pride knowing he was finding shows from your culture interesting.
When the show ended on a cliffhanger, Bucky cried out, “Oh come on! What happens next?! Does Agua save Bendita?!”
You giggled, “We’ll have to wait until tomorrow to see.” you gestured to the tv, “But the next show after this is good too.”
“What’s it called?”
“It’s called I Love Betty La Fea, it’s based off the American show Ugly Betty. The whole idea is that there’s an ugly woman who loves her boss but they can’t be with each other ‘cause he’s engaged and some other dramatic stuff. Trust me, Buck, you’ll get hooked on this one as well.”
