It was a typical day. Fatou just finished her German lesson, and she went to the locker before meeting up with the CashQueen who were waiting on her. She quickly put her book into the locker, when suddenly she felt a soft kiss on her cheek. She turned around and saw her girlfriends smiling at her. “Hi” Fatou says, smiling at her and happy to see her even though they saw each other in the morning but she couldn’t help but miss her girlfriends when they were not together.
“Hi” Kieu My answered. “How are you doing?” she asked.
“I’m doing pretty good , well except the fact that I’m starving. ”
“Oh you are starving ? So I’m not going to hold you any longer.” Kieu My responds.
"No! Stay, I can control myself when I’m hungry unlike you zombie woman” Fatou says laughing.
“I can control myself” The tall girl answers faking offense.
“I just came to ask you what are you doing on Monday ? ” She ask.
“Hmm. Probably nothing. Why ?” Fatou responds curiously.
“ Well I don’t know if you heard of it but there is the pink moon”.
“Oh yes I have actually. I saw a post on this account about astronomy that I follow and I wanted to ask you to watch it with me.”
Kieu My was surprised but so happy that her girlfriend was interested in astronomy and they had this common passion. Usually when she talks about it she annoys people so she stops talking about it, but Fatou seems always interested in what kieu My liked or talked about and that filled her heart with so much love. She was so lucky to have her.
“Are sure it’s on Monday ?” Fatou asks, disturbing Kieu My from her thoughts.
“Yes I’m sure . Why ?”
“Oh fuck . I messed up the date, I’m so du…” but fatou stop knowing it was not true. “I really wanted to ask you, but you were faster this time” She says smiling at her girlfriends.
When suddenly she felt her phone vibrate, it was a message from Ava :
AVA : where are you chibi ???? We are waiting for you FATOU : I’m coming sorry
“I’m really sorry I need to go. I am meeting with the girls.”
“Oh okay…” Kieu My responds a bit sad that her girlfriend has already needed to go.
Seeing her girlfriend sad, Fatou asks her “ Do you want to eat with us ?”
“No thank you baby. But say hello to the girls from me” she responds with a smile.
She didn’t agree not because she was on bad terms with Ava. Not at all, actually, their relationship has improved a lot. At the start it was a bit awkward between them because of their history. Kieu My felt really guilty by the way her friends and her treated Ava. Even though she didn’t really bully her, she still witnessed that and said nothing which was not really better. She knew that bullying someone was not okay like not at all but she never said anything and she just witnessed Constantin and Ismael wickedness. At the beginning, she was really uncomfortable when she was with her, but she hid it from Fatou because she knew that friendship was really important to her and she didn’t want to put her in a weird situation by not talking to her friends . Fatou was really happy when Kieu My spent time with Ava and her. So she put some effort for the happiness of the girl she loved and she realized that Ava was doing the same. They even eventually found that they have a lot in commun. The thing that really connected them was that they both loved Fatou and wanted anything but her happiness so they became closer and closer at first for her ,but eventually they were more comfortable around each other and started really liking each other. The reason she declined was more because she didn’t want to impose herself and she let her girlfriend go spend time with her friends. Of course she wanted to spend every minute of every day with Fatou but she knew that it wasn’t really healthy and that they both needed some time apart.
Fatou approaches Kieu My and stands on her tiptoe to reach his girlfriend's lips to kiss her. They kiss softly because they were in public and school was not really the place to express their love. She opened her eyes and saw her girlfriend’s eyes close with a smile on her face. When the taller girl opened her eyes, she saw her looking at her with a smile.
“I love you Fatou Jallow”
Just hearing Kieu My saying those exact words make her blush even though she already told her multiple times. But there was something inexplicable happening inside her every single time she heard it.
“I love you too Kieu My Vu” she responds.
Fatou went to join her friends with her heart full with love and an enormous smile on her face . They have been dating for 3 month now but every time she kisses her girlfriends it feels like the first time. She was so happy to be with her. To have the chance to call her longtime crush her girlfriend. To have someone with whom she could talk about everything and anything for hours but also stay in silence and enjoy each other's presence without a word. To have someone who shares her passion. To love and to be loved by Kieu My. To have someone who saw her and that she saw.

Kieu My and Fatou were sitting on Fatou’ roof with a bunch of blankets and snacks. The night was not really cold but the air was fresh. They were sitting next to each other, with their arms touching and they were holding hands. The girls were watching the moon in a comfortable silence. The moon was pink, the sky was full of stars and it was beautiful to watch.
Kieu My arrived hours sonner. She had dinners with Fatou and her parents, it was not the first time she met them but it was still a bit stressful. She really wanted to be appreciated by her girlfriend’s parents. They were really nice to her and seemed to appreciate her which relieved her. Fatou had also already met her parents and they really liked their daughter's girlfriend. She values family a lot so it was really important for her that her parents liked the girl she was in love with.
“It’s beautiful” Kieu My says talking about the sky
“Yes it is” Fatou responds looking at her girlfriend and talking about her
Kieu My was not wearing makeup, her hair tied in a bun, and she was wearing Fatou’s axolotl hoodie. She was not dressed as usual but Fatou found her beautiful when she was like that. So pure, vulnerable but still breathtaking. And she was so lucky to have the opportunity to see her like that, to see the real Kieu My.
“Did you know we were all made of stardust. All the atoms in our bodies, apart from hydrogen and helium, were created in the nuclei of an exploded star.” Fatou say looking at the sky
“So if we think about it we are all a star in a certain way” she continues
“Oh you are definitely a star. You are my star when I’m lost in the dark” Kieu My say while doing a big gesture with her hand like she was showing something. She was smiling and looking at Fatou who was laughing at her comment while still looking at the moon.
“I think what I like the most about space, it’s that we always learn new things but in a certain way it’s scary because it’s endless. Like the universe is enormous like there is an infinity of galaxies and stars and planets. And we are so little and insignificant facing that. I don’t know If you understand what I am saying ”
“Yeah I understand” the smaller girl answers
“And sometimes I feel the same like we are nothing compared to the universe and sometimes it can be scary but also reassuring. Like for example when something happens to us we can think it’s the end of the world but actually it doesn't change a thing to the world.” She kept going.
“It's kinda weird when we think about it. Like we are not alone in the universe and the world doesn’t revolve around us. Like for example when we had our big fight at my party, I really thought it was the end of the world. When actually not at all, yes it was the end of my world but just thinking about the fact that the universe doesn’t need us but we need the universe is kinda crazy” Kieu responds.
“Yeah totally like it’s so weird when we think about it”
Fatou was thinking about what her girlfriend just says and she was remembering their fight. Since then they haven’t had a big fight like this. Of course they had little inconvenience but it was arranged very quickly and it was normal for a couple to argue sometimes.
“Do you believe in the predestined ?” Kieu My ask looking at her girlfriend who was thinking about what she just say
“Hmmm not really.” pause to think about her answer and the question she just was asked . She took a look at her girlfriend who was watching the sky and kept going : “I think that there are clearly things that we can’t control but I don’t think that there is some sort of big book with our life writing in it. And you what do you think about it? Fatou asks, being curious about Kieu My answer.
“Sometimes It can be reassuring that everything it’s planned but it also can be kinda suffocating that we can’t control our lives so I don’t think, well I prefer to think that we are in charge of your destiny.
I think that things are planned but every choice we take, leads us to a new path. Kinda like a parallel universe.”
“Oh yes, totally like a million universe with different stories and lives. Millions of Fatou and Kieu My in different universes doing different things. I like this point of view.
Like it’s interesting when we think about it.”
The two girl went silent when Fatou say :
“I’m glad to be in this universe with you Kieu My”
“Me too Fatou” the girl answer smiling at her girlfriends
The two girls are looking at each other completely forgetting about the pink moon, like they were alone in the universe. They keep looking at each other for a couple of minutes, but then Kieu My gets closer to Fatou and stops when they are at a minimal distance. They look instantly in each other's eyes and close to distance laying for a kiss. The kiss is intense and full with passion and love. Fatou is holding Kieu My’s face and Kieu My is holding Fatou's thumb. They smile during kisses, when they pull away the two lovebirds are still smiling and looking at each other.
Later in the evening, the two girls went inside because it was getting late. They rearranged Fatou’s room, they put the bed next to the window so they could still look at the sky from the inside.
They were laying on the bed, Kieu My was resting on Fatou’s chest and their hands were intertwined. Frank Ocean’s music was calmly playing in the background.
The two girls were silently watching the moon.
Fatou thought that it was her definition of happiness being just here with the girl she loved, cuddling with her, looking at the sky with music. She didn’t want the night to end, so she was fighting against sleep. She knew that she would probably have multiple other nights with Kieu My but still she didn’t want it to end. She was just simply so thankful to have her and every time they were together was like the world stop and it was just the two of them, like nothing else mattered.
Kieu My on the other hand, was falling asleep. It was weird because she has insomnia but not when she is with Fatou. When she is in her arms, she feels so safe and at peace that she easily falls asleep.
“I love you axolotl girl” Kieu My whispers with his eyes closed almost asleep
Fatou smiles and respond at her sleepy girlfriend “ I love you zombies woman”
They went back in silence and fell asleep with their heart full of love and happiness...
