Sasha and Marcy were woken up by a soft knock on the door. Both of them groaned in annoyance and tried to sleep it off. The soft knocking was heard again and it seems that it wasn’t going to get away anytime soon.
“Honey… please get the door…” Marcy cooed and smiled a bit when she felt Sasha’s lips pressed on her head.
Sasha carefully removes the blanket his and rubs his eyes to clear his vision. He got up and walked towards the door. He opens it and suddenly his parental instincts kick in the moment he sees that his son was the one who knocked on the door.
His beautiful baby boy, Cory Waybright-Wu. He has Marcy’s black hair, his left eye is brown and the other eye is blue, meaning that he has heterochromia. He also inherited Sasha’s skin tone and his birthmark but instead of being on the left cheek, it's on the right cheek.
Cory was wearing a cute frog onesie that his Auntie Anne had bought him. Sasha pains to see his son crying a bit and hugging his favorite frog plushie that he named froggy.
“Sweetie, what’s wrong?” Sasha asks as he picks his son up and starts to carefully rub his back while he uses his foot to close the door.
Cory buried his face in his father’s neck and whimpered. Marcy immediately wakes up after hearing her son’s voice. She sits up to see her wife going back to bed with Cory in his arms. Both of them think it's best to wait for their son to calm down.
A few minutes later, Cory is breathing normally and Sasha wipes the remaining tears from Cory’s eyes.
“Daddy, I had a nightmare,” Cory said with a sad tone in his voice. They both understand why Cory was knocking on the door at 3 in the morning. Marcy kisses her son’s cheek and takes Cory to put him on her lap.
“What’s it about, darling?” Cory sniffled and hugged his toy frog tightly.
“It was so dark and I-I couldn’t find you and mommy. I tried calling you but no one was there! I thought you left me behind…”
“Oh, sweetie. Daddy and I would never leave you. Not in a million years.” Marcy reassures him and kisses him on the cheek.
“You're our son. We love you so much and nothing will make us want to leave you.” Sasha added and caressed Cory’s cheek.
“Promise?” Cory asked.
“Promise.” Marcy smiles and leans on her wife’s shoulder as their son hugs Sasha.
“I love you, mommy! I love you, mama!” Marcy and Sasha smiled at their son and kissed him on top of his head.
“We love you too, Cory.” They both responded.
A few minutes later, Marcy and Cory were fast asleep except for Sasha. He loves his wife and son so much. He softly kisses his wife’s forehead before sleeping next to Cory since he’s in the middle.
Cory really is the luckiest boy in the world for having wonderful parents.
