"Calli~"
"Calli~"
"Calli~"
"Calli~"
The reaper groaned as Kiara and Ina continued to tug at her arms.
Both the phoenix and the priestess insisted that they'd be able to handle their alcohol. But after an almost full evening of drinking, it was safe to say that the two were completely hammered, and not only were they thoroughly drunk, it turns out the two were also extremely affection while in their drunken state.
"Calli~" After on last prompt from Kiara, Calli huffed and tugged her arms to herself, slightly fed up with their childish behaviours.
"What do you two want?" Neither seemed fazed at her sharp tone and gave her goofy grins. Without hesitation, Kiara grabbed Calli's arm again while Ina wrapped her arms around the reaper's neck, hugging her tightly.
"Calli~ We're hungry" Ina whined into the crook of the reaper's neck. Calli rolled her eyes. If she knew that Kiara and Ina would act like this when drunk she would've been much more stern when it came to their drink limitations.
"And what do you want me to do about that? Make you somethi-" Calli was cut off by Kiara whining.
"Nooo! Something sweet, like from the inconvenience store!" Ina nodded enthusiastically at Kiara's response, obviously thinking along the same lines as the phoenix.
"What, so you want me to drive you two to the inconvenience store, in my pyjamas, at 12:34 at night?" Calli regretted the words the moment they left her mouth as her two girlfriends started nodding in sync. The reaper just groaned and grabbed her car keys from her nightstand.
As they were walking towards the front door, Calli suddenly turned around to face Kiara and Ina. The phoenix and priestess gave her a wide eyed stare.
"Now you two have to be quiet, I don't wanna wake Amelia and Gura" Ina nodded in a surprisingly stern way while Kiara made a shushing motion with her index finger. Calli sighed and made her way down the stairs, leaving the two to giggle silently while following clumsily behind.
Before Calli could open the front door, however, Kiara rushed past (almost tripping over her feet in the process) to open the door for the reaper and priestess, sneaking in a wink to the both of them. Calli felt a small smile tug at the corners of her lips and quickly frowned, though it was obviously forceful. Ina just chuckled and took Kiara's hand in her own as they closed the door behind them.
"Shotgun!" Kiara called out, making a beeline to the passenger side door. Ina paused as she took in the information before she rushed after Kiara.
"No! I want shotgun!" Before either of them reached the door, Calli tugged them both back, giving them a somewhat harsh glare.
"Neither of you are going shotgun. Especially if you're going to act like this" The reaper felt her resolve break a little seeing them both pouty in annoyance.
"And why can't we ride shotgun?" Kiara asked smugly. Calli crossed her arms, ushering the two towards the back door.
"Because I don't trust you enough while you're drunk to not try and grab the steering wheel" She said matter-of-factly. Ina poked Kiara's cheek, agreeing with Calli. In response, the phoenix swatted Ina's hand away, only to be given a quick kiss on the cheek. Kiara giggled like a lovestruck teenager and kissed the corner of Ina's mouth, prompting a flurry of chuckles from her. They continued exchanged kisses until Calli interrupted.
"Okay you two! Are you just gonna make out in the driveway or are we actually gonna go to the inconvenience store?" The regarded the reaper with eyes similar to a deer caught in the headlights. Without saying anything, the two opened the car doors and sat inside.
The drive there was fairly easy. There were very little cars (compared to the day that is), and there wasn't a peep from Kiara or Ina the entire time, although Calli found out why when they arrived.
"So I see you decided to kill two birds with one stone" She said, referring to the fact that she caught the two getting heated in the backseats.
"Now c'mon you two, otherwise I'm only grabbing a few bottles of aka wine" Kiara let out a noise of indignation and scurried after the departing form of the reaper while Ina followed, her usual smooth walk slightly jostled.
The inconvenience store was just as Calli remembered it. Slightly just above room temperature with shelves full of different snacks that she was sure would be able to satiate the hunger of a phoenix and an ancient priestess.
On the way in, the reaper grabbed one of the baskets used to carry items, Ina and Kiara leaning against each other as they tried to stay upright.
'And this is where the fun begins' Calli thought to herself, her eyes scanning the various snacks on the shelves. Kiara and Ina were muttering to each other, glancing over to Calli every now and then which piqued the reaper's interest, but she ultimately decided not to listen in.
"Ok, am I picking the snacks or do you want to?" Calli said plainly, really wishing she was bundled up in her bed sleeping right now. Kiara and Ina gave her a blank stare for a little bit before comprehending what the reaper was asking. Kiara's eyes suddenly focussed in rather than the glazed over drunken look the two had the entire ride here. She gave both Ina and Calli a headpat before looking a bit too seriously at the shelves.
Without warning, the phoenix took the basket and simply placed it back with the others before grabbing a shopping cart and walking slowly along the various shelves full of snacks. Calli just watched on with somewhat dead eyes. The reaper caught the gaze of the cashier who gave her a sympathetic look in response.
"You know what" Calli mumbled to herself. She looked over to see Kiara shoving a multitude of packets of whatever she could reach into the shopping cart, only to have Ina put back what they didn't need and shrugged her shoulders.
"You two behave. Ina, keep an eye on her" Calli called out, pointing at the phoenix. Kiara looked offended at the statement, but Ina just saluted and put away three packets of the exact same chips, leaving only two left in the trolley, not that Kiara noticed.
Calli, somewhat confident that Ina could keep them in check despite the fact that they were both stumbling at this point, walked silently over to the back corner where the shop kept its alcoholic drinks. The reaper stared at the collection of bottles, her eyes drawn specifically to the red wine.
She sighed and opened the door, feeling the chilled air slowly spilling out. She quickly grabbed two bottles and made her way back over to Kiara and Ina who were now picking out there own drinks.
By now the shopping cart was filled to the brim with various brightly coloured snacks ranging from chips, chocolates and gummies, although Calli assumed Ina was forced to but back a lot more than what was in the cart.
"You two really got the drunk munchies, don't you?" Calli half-heartedly remarked as she placed the two bottles with all the snacks. She saw Kiara eye off the bottles only to look away quickly once she realised Calli noticed.
"Keep your hands of my wine. You two have already had enough to drink to last you a month" Ina laughed at the reaper's remark, both relishing in the embarrassed blush that covered Kiara's face.
Once again Ina and Kiara started up with the inebriated shenanigans as soon as Calli took the shopping cart up to the cashier. And once again did the cashier give her another sympathetic look as they started scanning the items and punching numbers into the computer device thingy in front of them. Calli was too tired to think of using the correct term for it right now.
The reaper could see the scepticism on the cashier's face as they scanned the two bottles of wine, but neither said anything. Instead, the cashier just continued on their way, packing the foods and drinks away into plastic bags.
Calli gave her credit card an apologetic look as she took in the total amount, but the reaper couldn't resist the charms of her girlfriends, no matter how drunk they were.
"Calli! Those bags look heavy. Let us help you!"
"Yeah, I'm sure I could carry aallll of them with my tentacles!"
Calli silently chuckled as she watch Ina emphasize her point with her hands, Kiara watching on in awe as she did so.
"C'mon Ina, you know the rules. You aren't allowed to use your tentacles in public" Kiara playfully chastised the priestess, wrapping an arm around her neck. Ina just looked confused, a heavy blush covering her face from both the cold and alcohol. Calli just rolled her eyes on opened one of the back car doors (with some difficulty) and placed the bags inside.
"Why... are you putting the backs there if we're gonna sit there?" Ina piped up, her voice soft. Calli turned around and gave her a quick headpat.
"You don't have to worry Ina, there's still plenty of room for you and Kusotori" Ina hummed, enjoying the feeling of the reaper's slender fingers running through her hair. The priestess nodded slowly and hesitantly pulled away from Calli, taking her seat in the car.
"Caalllliii~ I got stuck ina tree!" The reaper sighed, hearing the voice of Kiara call out to her and hearing Ina chuckled at the terrible pun as she closed the door. Calli turned around to see Kiara perched in the top of a nearby tree, though it wasn't at tall as she thought it was.
The two had a staring contest, with Kiara giving the reaper a cheeky smile as she rocked back and forth on one of he higher branches. Calli pinched the bridge of her nose and sighed.
"What do you want me to do about it?" Kiara pouted at the reaper's annoyed tone. The phoenix crossed her arms childishly, though Calli knew she saw a sly grin on Kiara's face.
"Rescue me! You're my reaper in shining armour after all!" Calli couldn't see it, but she knew Kiara was fluttering her eyelashes dramatically. She looked back to see Ina watching the whole situation with the window now rolled down. She winked at Calli and pulled out a packet of chips from one of the bags, trying her hardest to make the packet rustle and make as much noise as possible. Calli caught on instantly and smiled, giving Kiara a look as she walked back over to the car.
The phoenix squinted, wondering why Calli was walking back over to Ina. Was she going to ask the priestess for help? She couldn't use her tentacles, so would Calli ask her for ideas?
It all clicked when Calli stood back from Ina a little, showing that the two were now eating some of the chips.
The reaper and priestess turned their attention to where Kiara was, seeing that the phoenix had was now at the bottom of the tree, brushing sparking embers off her shoulders as her fiery wings dissipated into thin air. Ina and Calli were kind of shocked to see Kiara using her phoenix abilities in public.
Ina held out the packet to Kiara as she stumbled closer to the car, only to be cut off by Calli. They both looked surprised.
"Kiara, you know you're not allowed to use your fire in public" Kiara gave Calli a nervous grin as the reaper berated her. The reaper looked like she was about to go further, but Ina cut her off with a rather loud yawn before sleepily resting her face on her propped up hand.
"Don't think you're getting of free, I'm telling J-Chad about this" Calli pointed an accusing finger at Kiara, who just nodded in response and she got in the car.
"What am I gonna do with you two?" Calli smiled fondly, watching Ina fall asleep against Kiara.
