“so much blood...”
“snow isn’t gonna survive that fall!”
“oh my god.. let’s get out of here..”
Reki ran towards Langa, tears pouring down his face and he sat by his friend, he checked langas pulse. He was alive, but barely.
“You.. you can’t leave me.. you promised we were.. we were gonna be together for infinity..” Reki said, his tears falling onto Langa as he sat over him. “Infinity means forever.. forever you can’t leave now.” Reki continued to sob as Joe came over and crouched beside langa carrying him over to Shadows car. Reki followed Joe and held Langa in his lap as they drove to the hospital. “Don’t die on me Langa.. please.”
They arrived at the hospital and ran inside. Reki was now carrying Langa covering blood with his sweatshirt. The doctors took him immediately. Reki wasn’t allowed in Langas hospital room yet.
A few hours pass, it’s Wednesday morning and Reki should be skating with Langa to school, but right now he doesn’t know if he ever will again. He’s waiting by Langas room with Miya and Joe, his mom arriving soon. Reki was still a mess and Joe was trying to comfort him and Miya, as he was also crying. A doctor came out of Langas room and Reki whipped his head towards her.
“He’s going to be okay. You can see him now.”
Reki ran in the room.
Reki ran into the room and saw Langa. Langa was awake, he smiled but sadly. Reki ran towards him and grabbed his hand.
“You- you- I don’t- I-“ Reki couldn’t get a sentence out, he didn’t know what to say. Langa and Reki were staring into each other’s eyes. Reki took a breath and leaned in, kissing Langa. Langa was surprised but he kissed back. Reki pulled back and looked at him, tears threatening to pour again.
“You could have died Langa. I don’t know what I would do without you.”
“I’m sorry Reki, I promise you that I won’t skate against Adam again, and I think after this I can promise more.”. Reki smiled and was going to kiss Langa again but Joe put his hand on Rekis shoulder. Reki turned around and forgot they were there. Langa was too focused on Reki to notice anyone else coming in the room. Reki smiled at Langa and continued to hold his hand.
