Stiles walks inside with a heavy sigh, leaning back against the door. It was a long day at work, one that has him grateful to be home. He’d been a part of a hit and run chase-practically all of the station was-and a robbery, all of which he had to do the filing for. To say he’s exhausted is an understatement.
He pulls his utility belt off and sets it on the front entrance table, unbuttoning the top button on his way into the living room. “Derek? Babe?”
“Finally.” He turns toward the kitchen to see his mate pulling something out of the oven. “You said you wouldn’t be home late today.”
“I know, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t make any promises.” He walks over and hugs Derek from behind, kissing his shoulder. “I missed you.”
Derek’s hands settle on his as he leans back against Stiles. “I missed you, too.”
“Wanna go cuddle on the couch and watch a movie?”
“I’d love that.”
They hold hands as they go into the living room and lay back on the couch. Stiles wraps his arms around Derek and holds him close, handing him the remote. Derek goes to turn the TV on, but then sets the remote down.
“What’s wrong?” Stiles asks, looking at Derek.
“I just really missed you. Can we just…?”
Stiles smiles. He’d had a few days off so it makes sense that Derek missed him so much. “Yeah, of course.” He kisses the top of Derek’s head and closes his eyes, relaxing in his mate’s embrace.
